Really interested on what levelling up a race car would do. Would it just unlock mods to take it closer to the S1/S2 limit? Seems a bit odd to me (although I have a thing that race cars shouldn't be modded, they are built to a set of regs and then (depending on the championship) balanced of performanced)

I hope they can't be upgraded but can be competitively balanced with their peers.

I would be totally okay with road cars and race cars not mixing.

I hope they do a much better job with divisions in general this time around but I would prefer road cars and race cars not mixing.
Same, though I'm also not sure how willing T10 might be to reconcile the more granular differences between era-contemporaneous, similar-yet-not cars from different disciplines. FM7's "GT Racing Reborn," for instance, included everything from '70s Group 5 era cars to '80s Super Silhouettes to '90s IMSA GT racers, which should've necessitated at least three different divisions (even if doing so might've reduced grid variety).

Indianapolis at night looks great, and it seems it will follow the IRL lighting, only the main straight has lights for the nights, the rest of track on a complete darkness

from what i saw it looks he liked and will buy it or at least test it on gamepass
Unfortunately he appears to have an potato PC from what he said at the end of the video so may not have the specifications to play it at it best if at all but will look at upgrading before October. Fingers crossed for him as his initial (p)review seemed quite balanced and considered.

Daytona in FM6 was quite dark in places but I'm hoping for Race Driver: GRiD LeMans finale event vibes from tracks like this to give my LG C2 HDR tv a real workout.

A video youtube kindly recommended to me got me thinking, would Microsoft be in a position to use some of their airports from Flight Sim to create Forza tracks (or let us create tracks) on. Particularly ones near cities I think could be good eye candy like the one featured here;

I'm not sure how many airports like this exist so close to big buildings but if it's a great graphics engine and they can make them look good especially with different lighting conditions or night-time airport lights too it might work well. Maybe that historic one at Chicago on the water if it was big enough, or London docklands? Must be quite a few others around the world although I expect the US would have most as it seems quite American focused from what we've seen so far to me already, and I imagine US cities would have a great appeal.

Might help them cross promote their next Flight Sim while using assets in a different way...

Daytona in FM6
In both FM6 and FM7 it followed the Daytona 24 lighting instead of full oval lighting like they do on NASCAR lighting, the differences between FM6 and FM7 was beacuse they added some extra lighting on the track after some upgrades but still look dark specially on back straight

It was actually kinda funny try race NASCAR at night on backstraight beacuse of how dark it was, it reminded me of some NASCAR night races where the lights sometime hjad issues and they had to run the entrie backstraights at minimum possible lighting

A video youtube kindly recommended to me
I find suprisingly how youtube likes to recommend David Land to me even when the algoristhms probally know i dont like him

let us create tracks

EventsLab wont be on the new motorsports, probally they will adopt a system similar to GT6 track creator instead

My older brother has an Xbox Series X.

Im really just going to borrow his console and buy the game to play.

There is some interesting stuff but some i dont approve I prefer earning credits and buying cars.

Its been ages since I played Forza Motorsport. 3 and 4 were the best. Did not bother with 5 and 6. I played 7 not a bad game but it was disappointing.

FM2023 has a car dealer which allows you to buy cars for credits. And you earn credits from racing (double credits for being VIP).

The car XP and car upgrade points are purely for the car upgrading process, not buying cars or using them stock.

Let's assume most race cars are intended to be used stock (especially race classes), for example. Then you only need credits to get and be competitive with them.

Thats good then plus no Legendary Car dealership bs.

Honestly this what makes Forza superior in this regard how every car was made available to buy.

Honestly 1 thing I hated in the past were those unicorn cars. So stupid. Im happy unicorn cars feature has gone for good.

Not that it might effect motorsport but i dont like that you can only get one of new cars that drops in forza horizon 5 and you just have one week time to do it or that car might be gone i dont like this system i prefer being able to buy them instead in that way i can also buy more than one of the same car witch i mostly do, so i take legendary dealership everyday over that system for classic cars,
but it seems like some of new cars that gets added to motorsport will get added into career mode witch to me sound much better than horizon festival playlist thing

Yeah the whole time limited thing where you have to grind though some boring junk to get the new cars really shouldn't make its way over to Forza Motorsport. For a game that seems to have some interest in improving its multiplayer stuff, time limited, locked cars cause unnecessary problems for multiplayer modes, both on a public lobby level and at an organized league level.

I know I've harped on this several times before, but as someone who has been running organized racing (both as a competitor and organizer) for nearly 20 years now, it's a pretty big deal for what we do, for both the organizers and the competitors.

I agree 100% this feature needs to go away. If the unicorns have gone away this stupid feature should also be cut.

I think thankfully, FM doesn't have the giant amount of different activities Horizon has to pull that off because it's not an open world where whatever can be asked of to get the necessary points. I don't see that system coming to Motorsport.

Honestly what they should do is have it where you still have the option to grind through stuff/do races/whatever to get the bonus cars, but after a month they become available to buy in the dealer. This way people have the option to get them right away and use them, buy one from the auction for a higher price, or wait until they can just purchase them later for "retail" price.

What they did in FM7 was to make all cars except paid DLC available in the car screen around 9 months after launch or so.

Also, if you want to buy cars now in FM7 it's ludicrously easy - just open up the big list of all cars, find one you don't yet own and click it. No animations or screens to click through. You can buy a car every few seconds. Excellent user friendliness.

Horizon needs to do that, the FOMO approach is tiring unless you treat the game like a job.

It's the reason I stopped playing Horizon. I don't want to play on their schedule, or miss cars because I wanted time away from it to focus on other things or other games. Nor do I want to keep checking to see if the cars I've missed will ever come back.

...That and locking the races in the playlist to a low difficulty, so they can't really be engaging either. I find myself genuinely falling asleep playing Horizon.

something just hit me, i'm not sure if the practice session in builders cup have AI? i was thinking about looking at session times to place my grid spot in light of no presumed quali but then i dont remember seeing ai in the practice footage, thus it being essentially the same as fm7 unless i'm mistaken?

I Wish Motorsport had some challenges simillar to GT License and Mission modes tho

Licenses? Maybe. It's a nice feature when competently integrated.
Missions> Why not, however, keep the nonsensical ones out of the career. I don't care if it's knocking over bowling pins or breaking boxes or driving through coins. It belongs separate and optional.

It depends, on GT4 such messions were part of career mode but you dont needed to finsh the main part of it
in FM7 you dont needed them to advance deeper on carreer and "win all the cups" but you needed them for 100%

locking the races in the playlist to a low difficulty

I actually found this ok, or at least let it to be customisable, let people run races in difficult as they want
4 having to ALWAYS play on hardest dfficulties beyond my habilities just to get on a single car was also tiring as well, in 4 i had always found myself always having to find a OP META EXXXXXTREME setup just to get the car i wanted instead of fight on the track in a fair condition like any other games beacuse the default cars always got slapped by the hard difficulty slingshot cars

As much i dont want it to be too much easy, i also dont want things to be too hard that i litteraly need to trick the system to win
