Forza

Might be pretty old, but I bet it's damn fast :D

No where would insure me for something like that, plus petrol for that thing would be....ridiculous.

OK, feel me in on GTR. How is there a M Coupe in a FIA GT game? Or is there some other game.

BTW, Cobra, drifting in 360 Modena in PGR2 and Forza are nowhere near the same. The 360 in Forza actually requires you to actually regain the car. Drifitng in Forza is completely different. In Forza, its considered bad. You don't gain speed, you have big chance of spinning around, and if you try and gas it, the car will spin.

PGR2's is nothing like that. You can gain speed, you can gas it and still make Kudos without much effort. Forza will actually require thinking.

I'm not sure which class the M coupe is in within the FIA rules, but it's listed on the official GTR site, and they even have a render and specs to go along with it.

And thanks for clearing up cobra's, ahem, misinformation. *frowns at Cobra*

edit: It's in the NGT class.

I dont know but I just hope this forza demo is very old because if this is what's to be expected in the final build, physics wise, it's gonna be another toca2. Driving a p2 ferrari should not be easy damnit. I should be french kissing the wall in a car like that. Folks with the latest gt4 demo say handling the Falken gtr is tough, so why should a p2 car; a racer type with insane power, be easy to roll in? Maybe I got more skilled than I thought! Or maybe I'm playing a racing game that's just easy, but gets more credit for being realistic than it deserves here

My my, GTR seems have more than it seems.

Just hope it has the Monaco Grand Prix course in it.
56 cars on that course in practice session racing together would by awesome.

I may by GTR for the Xbox though when it comes out on it.
BTW, have you played that old PC game Sports Car GT?

yeah, had some cool moments. some really bad ones too.

I think it would have been cool if it could hold more than 15 cars and was a sim.

Whenever I play and I get bored, I chose Laguna Seca or Desert Speedway (night) and let the AI race on practice.

Laguna takes up almost one section of the fule though.

I raced it on 50 laps. I probably pitted about 20-30 times just for fuel.

u mean u havent played the new demo yet?
the falken gtr handles difficultly on the extremely bumpy track of nurnburgring, as would more cars at the kind of speeds u can get on those long straights. The problem is the car is not heavy enough to go over such a bumpy circuit at that speed so the tires loose grip often.
It would be easier to handle on the laguna seca where u tested forza/ the ferrari

on the frenchie circuit witch has no bumps it handled very nicely.

Cobra, the Forza demo is actually quite old. The one in the OXM is from E3.

IGN reported on playing there at E3 2004.

Cobra's quick to point out it's shortcomings, but whenever people critisize Prologue, he dismisses them because it's only a demo. Strange.

They're both demos that are based on old builds. Out of the 2, someone please tell me which has better physics. By better, I mean more realistic.

someone who has played both, preferrably. :)

"I think the game is incredibly realistic. It's jut like my real car in the JGTC. The kerbs, grip level
and the overall character of the tracks are all very good. One point where it's easier than in real life is on grass - the game lets you recover quickly. In real life it's a lot more difficult. I can hardly wait for the December 3rd launch. I'll be buying one of these after hearing my rivals are practicing on the new version! "

"I'm quite amazed at how realistic the game is. The developers must have spent a huge amount of effort and trial and error getting the feel of the game just right. These guys have really done their homework. Having worked in data analysis for over 30 years, I can readily assert this is an incredibly realistic product - quite amazing! "

Can't say. Only played Forza's.

I really don't care what Cobra says. If he is a true racer, he would appreciate all types no matter what flaws. I do. I can admit I have over 10 (oh wow, I know) racing games. My racing games nearly double my other games.

Forza is excellent like GT4. Forza's deal with being rear-ended and regaining or AI dodging you is cool.

Cobra, you said the AI slow down and bump you? Suuuurrreee.
You must admit Forza has AI that are smarter than GT3s.

being hyped about forza is a crime then? they have very convincing press releases for that one too, cobra.

same goes for PRD2. They had a variety of quotes from real pros saying it was Jesus on a disk.

The only way we can tell is by hands on perspectives.

I didn't comment on the ai but the ai is better than prolouge's.

But has forza set a mile stone? I mean, gt4 is the 4th game in the ever loving gt series and pd are making the game and they have proven themselves. Have the forza dev's proven anything yet? Gt4's creator, Kaz is a pro driver, so I've heard.

Umm cobra, I think forza is also headed by a race driver, alot of the team races. The team have also make numerous quality games. Being the 4th in the series means nothing, GT3 was hardly proving them selves :P

once again, in their press releases, the forza devs have mentioned that they have racers on their team, some that compete in pro events. Parts of the team have also proven that they can make great games (PGR2, RSC2). They haven't proven themselves in the sim category as of yet. But from what people are saying about how it stacks up to GT3 and prologue, they seem to be doing quite well.

It's abit good for their FIRST sim.

a bit. :)

I like underdogs. Wierd that I'm talking about Microsoft here. Hopefully it will push PD to implement all the stuff we've been dreaming of and stomping out the competition. That's right, I want good games, sue me.

Oh god, Cobra.

Forza is new. Can you at least accept that fact that Forza may actually be a threat?

And I know you commented on the AI.
You said "If you stop right in front of them, they just bump you."

No. They reverse and drive off laughing at you.
GT3's AI makes Forza's look like a bunch of Einsteins (Or however you spell it).

And I hear the toca2 team got help from racers and look how it turned out.

it turned out well. wtf is wrong with you.

it was dumbed down as a design choice, not because of a weak physics engine. If anything, it had a more advanced engine than GT3. big time.

it didnt have enough options, cars, or single player depth, but that doesnt really tie into what you're insinuating.

If you think boats on tracks is advanced, power to ya.

boats...you mean cars that have some form of suspension travel, other than the visible kind?

If you can't be arsed to see the things that game did right, you really aren't worth arguing with.

The game was good, realistic but not more than gt3, maybe on par.
