Forza

The game was good, realistic but not more than gt3, maybe on par.

in some ways a lot more, in some ways a lot less.

The point is, if it can be "on par", and sometimes better than the almighty fanboy-creating GT series, it's commendable. Play it on Pro-sim mode with your DFP. There are so many things that make it a more engaging drive than GT3.

And you just put it down. Incredible.

Toca 2 with a wheel and simulation mode tuned on is quite realistic Toca 2 focused more on the 'racing' aspect rather than the 'driving' aspect Toca 2 is a good racing simulation I had many hours of fun with Toca 2

and it's not Forza Planet it's Forza Central

Are you serious?
Toca 2 was way more realistic on the racing than in GT3 even though I do love mt GT3.
Hopefully you mean more realistic by number of cars and what not, hope you aren't talking physics wise.

Cobra, I guess what has been said is true.

Whenever someone tries to say another game besides the GT series is better on realism, graphics, or that, you almost ALWAYS put that game down. 👎

No, just no.

thats just you being stubborn. play both back to back. dissect the way the cars behave.

GT's advantage is the heft of the cars, but it masks the unrealistic handling dynamics. Playing with the DFP on gt3 only highlights it.

for the most part, the road cars in PRD2 handle much more naturally. You feel like you are racing a car instead of guiding a heavy lump of polygons and textures along a track. GT3, IMO, feels just like GT2 with more weight on the cars. Steering is imprecise and the tire traction is a mixed bag.

That isn't to say PRD2's physics are altogether realistic. You get a sense that they simplified them way more than they should have, but the engine is quite capable. You can feel the car and sense what it is doing.

Again, not better on a whole, but the dynamics are more lifelike.

Probably.

But let's face it.

Forza has so much going for it. When I look at it, reminds me of PGR2 which is a good thing indeed. And Cobra, you might as well like it. B/c it may cause Yamauchi too push the next one even harder.

And then after that! You can start putting down Forza 2. Toca 3, etc.

Should be considering all the wonderful things PSM has said about it.
I wonder if Chris (editer) will send me an e-mail back if i ask him for more info.I should look to see if I have the 1st one about GT4 he sent me.

I wonder if PSM ever really has any real info. They're as bad as OXM and Nintendo Power.

OPM is slightly better for official info, since it's actually the official mag.

According to the likes of PSM, the ps3 will do your laundry for you, fill out your taxes and give you backrubs, and the cell processor will direct air traffic while simultaneously processing 60 bazillion polygons/teraflops/whatchamathingies...without breaking a sweat!

Yeah I know.

OXM aboslutely praises Halo 2.

They put down the PS2 so much.

They even said about the Dukes of Hazard game this...

"This one racer that can stay on the PS2." 👎 :grumpy:

idiots.

that game shouldnt be on any console. it should be shot and trampled.

I dont know about Forza, Ive never played it

I love the GT series, but I have to say with no doubt GTR's physics are and will be more realistic than GT4's (its a full sim, what do you expect), Plus its on PC........ PC's rock!

Well, i just got the Xbox magazine demo disc and Forza is in it. The demo contains 1 track (Seca) and a bunch of cars. 350z, Scooby, Lancer, Corvette, 360 modena, 911, Viper '05, GT-one and others of its kind.

I haven't played the latest of GT4, being a NTSC dude, but from what i've seen of the home-made videos and the comments on handling and braking... it seems Forza is pretty much in the same vains. I'm used to Seca on GT3, which ain't really realisitic, so i pretty much huged sandpits for a while. You have to break a lot earlier, you can't take the corners at very high speed, especially the 6th corner which you technically can take flat-out in GT3. Camera movement in pitch and yaw is the same as in the GT4 videos.

In the good benefits for the game, its got Custom car mods (body and engine) and its got Porche and Ferrari licenses. Both which GT4 doesn't have (at my knowledge). Some of you will contest that the car modding is useless; well its better to have it then not, and its a plus for Forza.

But on the down side, i haven't seen GT4 on my TV, but based on the B-spec video Graphics, Forza is way behind in terms of details, textures and colours depth.

one funny thing in forza, when 2 cars hug, there's this WALL of sparks coming from between them. Its like someone's forging them together or somethin'.

I've played it in a fair here in Sao Paulo, Brazil. And the game looks pretty much the same as Toca2, the graphics are identical. Believe me. I tought I was playing toca... it looks like it uses the same engine... but with tuning features(wich weren't available in the demo) and damage it will look ok.

GT4 will stand out of the Forza and the upcoming games in 2005.

it looks like it uses the same engine

sigh. I'm saying nothing, apart from that when I played the Nurb bmw demo, it looked exactly like mario kart, I swear I thought I was playing mario kart, but with out the shells. Must run on the same engine.
