- japanese patriotism - GT series will always promote the values of Japanese automotive industry. Having Ferrari in the game would outshine all the other manufactorers and probably take oall the spotlights to the F. I just think that some people form Nissan, Toyota and Honda could maybe have something agaist F., and

- Ferrari's TRUE specs - other idea is that Ferrari just don't want to agree with the fact that some other cars - preferablly much cheaper or in lower-class then Ferrari (as "tend-to-real" prices were always a big part in GT series, as the fact we all do know the majority of prices outhere) - can be better car, faster car and bettr handling then Ferrari. Guess that something like that is just not acceptable from marketing point of view. Notice that Ferrari was always the "best car" in all games mentioned, or the only car available.

Those to points could be some explanation for lack of Ferrari, and maybe same goes for Porsche.
This I strongly dissagree with, first off, all the big guys at Honda, Mazda and Nissan do is negotiate a price for cetain cars to be in the game, preferrably which could boost their image, PD has a large measure of control on this too. All thoes manufacturers were upstaged as far as road cars were concerned in GT2, and the same goes for in GT4, GT2 had the Vectors, Venturi's, Lister, Lotus's and the list goes on. So that doesn't come into it, as for Ferrari being the best cars in any game, if it's road cars and the Enzo gets in, the chances are it will be the best since it's so damn good in real life (anyone see it go round the TopGear track a few weeks ago, it was fast with a capital DAMN), also as Code Kev mentioned before the fastest car in PGR2 was the Speed 12, it would beat the Enzo even so that theory has gone out the window. I have to say though, good thinking even though I findit flawed.

Other cars that were faster and better-handling than the ferraris in their class (PGR2): Porsche GT1, Pagani Zonda S, Koenigsegg CCS V8, Mercedes CLK-GTR, Noble M12 GTO, Delfino Feroce, TVR tuscan speed 6.

just noticed a FERRARI 360 Modena in a video available from http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/682/682857/vids_1.html)

how did microsoft attain the licence to include the ITALIAN STALLION? thought it was privileged to EA or acclaim??? PD should be knocking on the doors of maranello for GT5.

also, just a comment re: Forza vs GT4... i think the competition should be healthy for both parties. they'll push each other in terms of development and features (damage, visual customisation, etc)

As far as I can remember, EA had the licenses for Ferrari and Porsche on Sony Systems, which expired in November. Which is the reason Sony wasn't able to buy the rights for the cars, but Microsoft was, because well, it isn't Sony.

Finally some Mustangs. I'll be picking that up as well.

Mustangs? I just see the '70 Boss 429 and the Saleen that aren't also represented in GT4. Cool cars but still not a whole lot. Where are the Fox-chassis Stangs and the 64/65 cars?

I find it's an interesting list to compare to GT4's. The Buick GNX must be the new 'must have' car for racing games... :P

It's a partial list that is bound to change.

But it already has more mustangs (70 Boss 429, Shelby GT500KR, Saleen S281), and considering that they're an American dev studio out to sell games primarily in the west (there are about 4 xboxes sold in Japan), chances are they'll indulge their audience.

Look at the crappy list of race event races just found on Forzacentral.com.

700 races! jeez how much does GT4 has? Meh who are going to race all these races.

Ok, so it's got umpteen hundred "leagues" big deal. I'm not ragging on the game, just this particular aspect. I mean it would take yoiu a year to do all that even once....sheesh.

?

Isn't that a good thing? GT4 has a billion quadrilllion different races, and I see that as a good thing, not a fault. It'll keep people playing the game (if they don't have xbox live...suckers) while the inevitable sequel takes 3+ years to make.

I got a demo of Forza on the latest Official Xbox Mag (UK). And although it is quite cool, it is no where near as perfected as GT4. GT reigns once again. LONG LIVE GT!!!!

Honestly, I don't see that as being a big plus or a minus. I guess it's cool for replay value. And it is needed to have a good aomount of leagues. But in GT3, I spent most of my time in free mode. So I guess that's why I'm not worried about how many leages GT4 or Forza has. :indiff:

Ok, so it's got umpteen hundred "leagues" big deal. I'm not ragging on the game, just this particular aspect. I mean it would take yoiu a year to do all that even once....sheesh.

LOL this is about as weak of a complaint as the fact that GT4 has way too many cars and that it would take forever to drive and tune everyone of them. What Forza gives you is lots of choices and how can you complain about that unless you are some kind of communist.

I got a demo of Forza on the latest Official Xbox Mag (UK). And although it is quite cool, it is no where near as perfected as GT4. GT reigns once again. LONG LIVE GT!!!!

Care to share what you think was wrong with the Forza demo?
