Best way to see close up is to get FM3 DEMO. Then you can compare gameplay to gameplay.. Anyone knows when FM3 demo comes out?

Strittan Ok
The only screenshot iv'e seen of Forza 3 comparable to GT5 is this one.

Those are bad FM3 capture, usually is the case with IGN, they screwed up a few GT5P capture as well.

Here's a better ones albeit much smaller sized

Nice, but is that in-game?

Yup.

BTW, it took me a bit to figure out if that FM3 430 was real. I never would have had to think twice about it in FM2. They finally brought it to the table. Shaping up nicely. I can't wait to see what the non alpha images look like.

I think at the end of the day it's down to preference. Both games can have their good and bad moments. I mean i play GT5P at 1080p and for the most part it looks great but on occasion you can catch it in bad light, just like the screenshot shows, and before anyone says it's a poor quality shot, well that car looks just as crap on my screen when i play it.

Although the only difference is FM3's modeling of the 599 isn't ridiculously hard to look at without wondering why you haven't killed yourself yet.

yet the forza 3 shot is a bullshot/photomode. or you can drive with no driver.

I suppose it could be a bullshot. T10 said it wasn't. Then again, that GT pic could be a bullshot too then when you compare it to the in game.

Both companies show us BULLSHOTS from what I have seen and experienced. I have GT5p on a 52" Samsung at 1080p, and my cars don't look nearly as nice as that Ferrari coming around the bend. Then again, my FM2 in game doesn't look anything like what Turn 10 released in shots before the game came out.

Fanboys will be fanboys, let it be, i think we both summed this argument up pretty well:tup::)

I have found that GT5p actually looks better in 720p than on a 1080p set. Also with big TV's all the little flaws are exposed. On my 36'' 720p setup that shot with the blitz looks almost flawless during gameplay.

The truth is though, the only way to compare racing games, graphically, or really anythings else, is with video. Racing games are meant to be in motion. I think this is one of the reasons NFS Shift looks so good. The car models and environments are not PD or T10 level but in motion the game looks pretty good (although there is a bit too much motion blur). Its kinda like a weight lifter that has bigger muscles on camera but when he goes to lift something, buckles. What truly matter is your performance in you main task.

Only if something with the 1080p TV isnt right (be it the display itself or the settings).
The Blitz looks great on my 1080p monitor btw.

Nice pics, look at the HD detail on that wall in London, you can even read the lil sticker on it!

Well i gave a picture of the blitz illustarting what i was saying, yes the shots you posted are excellent and yes the game does look like that, but the game also looks like the shot i posted on that track with that car, which happened to look poor. It was a very clear sharp image so i don't see the point in turning a blind eye.

Like i said the game has it's good and bad moments

You get me?

Great how the photographed images look like the "bullshots". lol

I've always thought different to others in that offscreen makes things looks more realistic than direct feed. Yes it's not as sharp or clear but that only helps to remove aliasing, and the lighting and shadowing always tends to look more realistic off screen.

Well are you disregarding this shot, because that's just how it looks on my 1080p monitor with all the settings set correctly, yes LOndon looks like what you posted, but Suzuka in parts, and the Blitz look crap imo.
