Well are you disregarding this shot, because that's just how it looks on my 1080p monitor with all the settings set correctly, yes LOndon looks like what you posted, but Suzuka in parts, and the Blitz look crap imo.

It clearly says Eurogamer at the bottom and those in knows knows where EG stands when it comes to anything PS3 althoug to their credit they did give Prologue a 8/10 and on their Forza 3 had this to say"..despite Turn 10's confidence that it has the best-looking racing game in the world on its hands, it can't quite match GT5 Prologue's near-photorealism, GRID's bustling track drama or Need For Speed Shift's thrilling in-car view."

Another thing to be noted that the quality of the capture is very much depend on the method. On my 32" Sharp which runs at full 1080p, I've yet to see encounter a moment where the Prologue looked anything like the Eurogamer capture (besides I don't use chase cams which is downright unflattering regardless). It's more like this

And instead of sticking to "correct setting" may I suggest using the setting that compliments the game or your taste.

I'm going to splash out on a "high end" plasma i think preferably from Pioneer.

That's what my parents have, they are good but waste of money imo, i play on PC monitor instead now. The pioneer has way too much imput lag due to all the jazzing up it does to the picture, and if you set to game it looks crap. OLED Tvs are the new cream of the crop and as far as im aware Pioneer do not make one, if they did it would cost you an arm and a leg.

1+ Million Polys, and doesnt look as real as GT5P Models:ill:

By the Way, i know ONE thing that Forza Has that GT5P doesnt Have in Graphic terms..

FLOATING WIINGS!!!

So people Complain of PD not Releasing Pics, but I think its worse to release Buggy/Unfinished/Bad looking pics of your game, than releasing anything.:indiff:

And this isnt the first case, Try to look at Steering Wheels Textures, Lexus IS-F gas tank, Subaru STI Brake Pads, and who knows what else.:grumpy:

So In My Opinion, i think its good that they havent showed anything to us, we will have somewhat a Big Surprise:tup:

I was wondering how long it would take for someone to point that out (R390 floating wing, it's not the only one but it's the worst).

Wow, i was just scrolling down the page to the bottom and caught a glimpse of that and thought it was real so didn't really look at it, then i looked back at it and saw the T10 watermarks, im sorry and i don't care what anyone says but that pic is remarkable , floating spoiler aside.
Honestly that is the first screenshot of any gamewhere i was fooled into thinking it was real at first glimpse. Remarkable.

Makes me hope for the R390 back again.

That wing just looks plain stupid. But ever better; this would be a laugh if it is an original T10 image release. I mean, how dumb can someone be? :dunce:

People who complain for overbrightened cars are going to know that PD in their engine is simulating digital camera view with all its flaws, like color channels clipping due to overexposure or too high dynamic range on the scene, lens flares and all kind of lens chromatic abberations etc. This is the thing what does the real feeling, comparing to Forza and PD should be proud of it.

Huh? It is a T10 image release.

Don' t know, but if it is it would be very dumb ;)

The only dumb thing is not putting 'Work In Progress' or similar on the screenshots to ensure people don't jump to conclusions too quickly..

I really wish PD would offer up 'WIP' photomode-esque shots to show us how GT5 is coming along, as long as you know it's work in progress then it's fine in my book..

Hell, now that PD know T10's hand, now is the time to 'shock and awe'.. :)

Nope, it's in contact and it's also clipping in to the ground.

I'd say (not that it matters) that it's floating slightly and clipped..

Really, what good does it do to get super anal about these things? I'm sure it's all WIP etc, and it still looks amazing.. (that goes for both games)

And, even if there are issues, so what, it's a computer game after all..

This Ferrari screenshot is old, it was released shortly before Prologue was released in Japan, so its 2 years old, or even older.
2 years have passed since GT5p was released and PD has surely refined the game. Its the same time T10 needed to make a completely new game, so i expect PD to reinvent GT5ps engine.
I know, GT PSP was there aswell and it was the reason GT5 got delayed, but its still enough time to enhence the game.

Sony/Polyphony (could) feel so confident that GT5 will completely destroy the competition that they are not really bothered with starting a marketing war at the moment. There's that.

And why wouldn’t they. Decade of experience, five years in development, plenty of space on the BD to implement every great idea. They know they have a superior product. This gives them the advantage to release the game at a time of their choosing.

Off topic, but Sony also held the world with it's 'Walkman' a few years ago. Who do u think is the leading portable music player now?

My point is, Sony should never be arrogant.

The Pioneer Plasma's are some of the best TV's on the current market bar none! If your finding the Pioneer has too much input lag, it'll probably be because its set to shop settings and not 'Standard' or 'Movie' modes, where it strips the extra processing down or out completely. If you can find a Pioneer Plasma, its well worth it, but be quick, as Pioneer are pulling out of the TV market so supplies will be harder to find soon.

OLED TV's are just barely emerging and are very small at the moment. I believe Sony are the only ones with one on the market, and its at 11inches. Samsung (if i remember correctly) had a prototype of a 26" OLED at CES this year and thats as big as they've been shown so far...

Dancarddesigner, if your playing on a Monitor as opposed to a proper TV, you will probably find the graphics aren't as flash. Is your monitor 1920x1080 native? That picture you've posted is very soft and is lacking a lot of detail in the image, the colors are incorrect and muddy too, just looking at the back of that Blitz. I can tell you it doesn't look that bad on either of my TV's.

In saying that, you can find unflattering shots of Suzuka, in some places the track can look quite sparse and empty, and that doesn't make for a great shot.

Please don't use Text-speak when posting, it is covered in the AUP...

Yes, you are right, especially on replays is more obvious. Looks great, but I still think HDR is excessive, I'd reduce it a bit.

I'm sorry are you a moderator?

Would you have prefered I sent him a formal warning via PM (that would have stayed on his membership record)?

Does he need another person to address this issue for him?

Did he specifically ask you to speak to me about it?

I will be blunt (if that has not already been made clear), you have been a member here for only a month, but in that short time I'm sure you will have noticed that the use of proper language and the absense of text-speak is quite clear to see.

The staff here apply the AUP in the manner in which the site owner has asked us to and that includes a zero tolerance policy on text-speak, and pointing to the AUP and asking some to follow it (and thanking them in advance for doing so) is one hell of a long way from riding them about it, but I guess in your month here you know more about the conduct expected here than I do.

I've merged your double-post. Oh and you might like to start sentences with a capital letter...
