Well are you disregarding this shot, because that's just how it looks on my 1080p monitor with all the settings set correctly, yes LOndon looks like what you posted, but Suzuka in parts, and the Blitz look crap imo.

On the other hand, the tire deformation seems correct, I don't know if Turn 10 simulate this effect too (I mean seeing the tires as another suspension, variable grip effects...), but, graphically, looks good.

It'll be interesting to see what they do about the non-modelled suspension..

It may be something they can do, but I don't think they do working/modelled suspension from anything I've seen so far, no open wheelers etc..

It may just be a limitation of the game engine, and being able to position the camera low down..

All the cars in FM2 never had actual suspension arms so i doubt FM3 will have also it was stated at E3 that tire deformation was purely cosmetic and had no effect on the actual handling of the car.

Thanks Mclaren, look at the Peugeot bouncing on the track at 3:30 it looks terrible & seems completly unrealistic in how the Le Mans car moves too.At the start of the race the tire sounds to my ears were borrowed from Prologue.After playing Grid the Le Mans car physics aren't too disimilar to me anyway.

The best thing in that clip about Forza, is that the guy is complementing themselfs all the time.
Look at how great we are, look how great the game is. And then a few months later he can check out GT5 and get back to the drawing board 👍

Did you listen to the Sony E3 conferences from the past few years.. It is quite standard to 'big' up your product..

I don't think this post would be 80 pages long if T10 did not make such bold claims. But your right Sony do 'Big up' there products too, its only natural. The difference here though, from my point of view, is that most of the claims were extremely arrogant and disrespectful to a game that, what we all know, will be of Titanic proportions.

To be fair, I never once heard them mention GT5 other then saying they brought their "A-Game" to E3 expecting GT5 to be shown, and the "We where surprised to see PD taking notes"..

It seems the fanboys are taking the 'definitive' marketing spiel and directly equating this to a slur on GT5, and making their own 'war' up..

I'm very open minded, look straight past the marketing rubbish which is almost the defacto-standard and just see two good games that luckily are different enough to warrant me buying both.

Maybe I don't fit in to the norm where 'sides' have to be taken and a winner must be decided.

I have no problem with games-comparisons, and I welcome equally all racing games. The more, the merrier, and having serious competition in this genre can only be good for all of us.

You may be right Phil. I too just look at the game and if i like it, I'll buy it regardless of what is said. At the moment its looking like GTmobile to tide me over as what i have seen so far from FM3 is not enough to make me want to shell out for a 360+FM3. I remember reading one T10 guy say something about the GT series like "GT picked his first car" but continues on to say something like "The series has stalled" or "lost its way" i dont quite remember what was said and please feel free to correct me. But, to me its one thing to 'Big Up' yourself, and another to 'Knock Down' your competition.

Dan Greenawalt has put down GT (and KY) many times in the last couple years, I don't think he has paticularly mentioned "GT5" but rather just Gran Turismo or KY. Che from turn 10 does the same.

Just for fun, a similar Datsun 510 on GT4 (sorry I only have the rally version ^_^). I raised the car suspension settings on purpose, of course. Flying tires with no suspension for everyone! Yes, I know, is GT4, no fair comparison, but I repeat, just for fun.

At least, the PS2 version has a proper solid piano strip
