Ya Forza's lighting has always been off, actually 360 games in general tend to be off. As I explained before it seems that they always have to much light bloom and cast weird shadows.

The lighting for me its the same, the diference is the shader, or better, the material itself. Is more specular reflection in GT5P, thats the principal properity of the metals materials.

IMO.

Sorry my english.

don't even bring forza into the same level as GT. Forza can't even render more than 8 cars on the track. That's only double what the psp can do heh. The cars look cartoony. The lighting is very off. The cockpit system is a joke. Looks so dark in the car you think the driver is wearing shades or something. All they have is some few rollovers. **** when did forza become an arcade game?

Seems this guy should be following suit with that Satan dude.

even it looks noting like the pictures. game looks damn dark in gameplay mode, 30 FPS in cockpit mode.

Che from Turn 10 has confirmed that cockpit view is now at a smooth 60 fps.

Lol, at your arrogance. The GPU of the PS3 is more powerful that the 360, and the CPU of the PS3 is LIGHTYEARS ahead of the 360.

Actually, the 360 GPU is better than the GPU in the PS3. But it doesn't really matter which one is better. Seems pointless to debate it.

Again, the fact is, the Nurburgring is & always will be more realistic to life than Forza unless by some miracle, Turn10 get their act together & change it for #4.

Well, we haven't played GT5 or Forza 3 yet, so we don't know. I suspect they will both be very close. It seems both PD and T10 have attention to detail, but the attention to detail is in different areas.

Jay
There was some screen caps taken from a roll over video, the underbody was basic, pretty much just a painted on texture but I don't expect anything more.

Well, Danny G said they were modeling each under-body specific for each car, so that is better than nothing. I would be willing to bet that when you upgrade the exhaust (say change it from a single exhaust to a dual exhaust), that we won't see that represented on a roll-over.

It's amazing to look at the number of people on this forum that have already played Forza 3 and GT5. Would you guys PLEASE, PRETTY PLEASE, invite me to your house so I can play?!?! I will give you my next new born!

Forza has

cartoony cheap looking cars
poor lighting
poor reflections
**** cockpit view
only 8 cars on track

what poor sods. Spend alot of money and effort on a new engine and it still not upto par with GT

Add to that, no night racing, no weather, no rally and you have all the trappings of a pretender.

their lighting sucks so bad it makes their whole cockpit view look like ****. It feels as if the driver has something drapped over his helmet

The dashboard looks bad as well. Still they do have a million polygon cars

Well I'm assuming you have not played FM3 and since the other 2 Forza's have not had cockpit views I think it's a little hard to say that.

Previous Forza games have had weird lighting and most 360's games experience epic light bloom. Judging by Forza's screenshot I think it's probably going to have a similar amount.

I think GT's lighting is way to dark though, so really both games have some unrealistic light being cast. Doing proper lighting in a digital realm is hard so I can't fault either company for not getting it right.

suck it pal. suck it hard!

Don't be so immature and offending when responding. I'm sure the mods, as well as Bogie won't like the last line you wrote.

How big is Turn 10? Even if they are the size of PD (seriously doubt that) a new game every two years with Forza 3 being such a leap graphically from Forza 2 means they must be outsourcing a lot of the development. PD has 140 employees according to a new Sony website which opened today and all development is obviously done in house with GT5.
They are. From what I've been told, the car models are all out-sourced to another company.

We don't need to play either at all. I've already seen enough photos of the Nurburgring in Forza 3 to know it's not realistic. It's stretched out again, corners are too wide & not sharp, the Karussell is still capable of holding 2 full cars at once, it just goes on.

Hell, I'm still betting it's FM2's just slightly polished up in new graphics.

then perhaps he shouldnt call for my banning just because i have different view to him with respect to forza.

i never called for anyone's banning even when satan was posting.

As long as it's as fun as FM2, bring it on. Same goes for GT5. So long as it is as fun as GT5p, bring it on. I have so much replay value listed in these two titles, it's going to be an easy $120 to spend.

I don't care which one is better (in the eyes of the beholder, right?), so long as they are fun.

If one is better than the other, do I win something? Or do I lose something? :dopey:

@ Rand Thor

Hoping someone would get banned ain't as bad as telling someone to service you on a public forum. Yes Bogie did his crime, but you didn't have to respond like the way you did.

Now, you've gone on a completely different topic of which is funner from which is more accurate.

^You sir...are whipped...may god have mercy on your man soul...

Oh, and I don't race online cause my DSL sucks out here. 🤬 AT&T

1. We know that FM3 uses tessellation, this increases polycountin hardware

2. You don't render all your poly's, culling/LOD can reduce this dramatically
Where that info come from?...

I only read that theory on the forums to justify the car polycount on Forza3, but it's ridiculous that would imply infinite detail and spline modeled cars, Turn10 would be promoting that to the death because no game render like that except for simply or minor things like terrain surface, the amount of processing power to render a full car game is out of this generation consoles and the fact that T10 are speaking in polygon terms confirm that they are working the same as the rest, polygons and LODs.

Based on the famous Mazda MX5 screenshot from FM2, I'd quite easily believe FM3 is rendering ten times as many poly's as that.. :)

Maybe in Photomode or menus but in-game the cars look nothing like 10 times more detailed, even the E3 trailer had some exact F2 models.

I was gonna say that the in game cars in F3 actually look more than 10 times more detailed. They are finally on par with GT5p. F2 was on par with...

Forzas car "models" are on par with GT5P, But the lighting, that is what makes, and breaks a game.
