This shot really says otherwise.

It could pass for a GT pic if the helmet & headlights didn't look so off. The bloom effect that's always seen in X360 games could be toned down too. Other than that, it's a great screenshot.

I think that's Forza 2. If not, then I don't see much graphical improvement between 2 and 3.

I saw that pic, and thought that looks crap:yuck:, gt5p doesn't look that bad, lighting on hood especially. Then to my relief i realised it was Forza. Says it all i think.

Tell me which one is Forza 3 again?

I had a bad pizza, therefore all pizza sucks. Just my personal experience. ;)

ROFL, that doesn't relate whatsoever. Silly goose.

I love that pic of the R type. Pretty sweet. Finally getting the realism in the FM franchise like GT5p.

i just think the lighting and reflections absolutely kill forza's car models. It looks cartoony. Even their cockpit view suffers from this. Looks too dark and dim

Well yeah, he is playing games, others think he is talking about the EB110 but that doesn't have the two keys (for driving modes).

This made me start thinking about how Polyphony Digital will do this. Will we have access to both of those keys - and be able to switch mid-race with the second key to the lower, streamlined and spoiler-less version of the Veyron - or will all that be handled pre-race, with the player selecting which version of the Veyron's racing/driving mode we want for the given course? I would hope for mid-race. :sly:

Why are you guys bringing this up again?

It was funny though, how that Forza forum cheated but they still lost the poll. 👍

Lol! That is both funny and ironic. They lost their race by cheating. 👍

Just because it works like that in real life doesn't mean it will be the same in a videogame. Having two seperate keys would be very inconvienient for the player. Whether or not the wing will appear will probably be controlled by the amount of downforce you add to the car in the pre-race settings.

It never ends because they are too many fanboys. Some admit it and some don't but still never stop looking for a opportunity to put the other down. I don't think being a fanboy is healthy and if your out there try to remember "you are not the game."

Honestly GT5 should be better than Forza 3 it has been in development for years longer. I think while being enjoyable, I was letdown by GT5P because it still has bumper car physics. Other people can look past that, I can't. Now it's said that maybe only some of the cars will have damage in GT5, I can accept that as long as the bumper car physics are gone for the others and environment.

As for Forza 3 there isn't a prologue to judge it on but I hope it is a big improvement over 2. Neither side is innocent though, PD tends to over promise and produce fake stuff as screenshots and Turn 10 tends to trash talk more.

For the first time in my life, I really can't tell the differense between Gran Turismo and life!

Can you?

Kind of off topic I guess though.

EDIT: Strittan, good post. 👍 Everyone says it's indistinguishable from real life. I honestly never had a problem, except from now and a pic of the back of a F40 I saw yesterday. I'm guessing the first one is GT5/"GTPSP".

I honestly can't understand people who bash each other because of a game. I really don't. Worse is those who say they are not fanboys, but you can clearly see their attitude towards the other game. Some clear examples I found on the last pages of GT fanboyism, no matter what you think:

Forza basher:

I saw that pic, and thought that looks crap, gt5p doesn't look that bad, lighting on hood especially. Then to my relief i realised it was Forza. Says it all i think.

Neutral:

Also neutral:

He is actually praising car models, or so it seems to me. And I totally agree with him, the lightning and reflections kill the realism.

Forza basher:

Forza 3 will never look like that in replays.

Unless he has facts, it's not an opinion, but speculation.

Neutral:

Couple of facts about this thread that I've noticed:

1) Second biggest thread on GT5 forum is about Forza 3.
2) People who post pictures usually do it in those ways:
a) GT fan posts beautifull pictures of GT5 and doesn't try to post best forza 3 pictures.
b) Forza fan posts beautifull pictures of Forza 3 and doesn't try to post best GT5 pictures.

Non the less it's good, because I enjoy watching beautifull shots of both games.

But seriously, some of you should consider using your energy on something more usefull than pointless discussion about which game is/will be better.

That is completely true. People aaaaaalways post pictures of their respective games. Always. You will never see a member posting deliberately a bad pic of their favourite game.

What's this?

Exactly +1 Who really gives a s**t, well except fanboys.
If Forza 3 is better than GT5 i will buy that, if GT5 is better than Forza 3 i will buy that. Simple as.

Could have been neutral, except for this:

I happen to think Forza 3 looks crap and shouldn't even be compared to the work of art that is GT5. Damn even PGR3 looks way better than Forza 3 graphically speaking and that is a first wave game.

You shouldn't judge a racing simulation game based on graphics. Thus it's Forza basher.

EJRocky, post #1884, was also neutral, agreeing to kamkor post, which I previously quoted.

McLaren is also neutral, as seen from his post #1886.

These are a few posts where you can clearly see who's in which side. I don't care whether it was a joke or not. If it was a joke, it wasn't funny. I didn't see anybody laughing in the thread. Not when someone bashes GT with reason.

This is Polyphony Digital we are talking about here - they are the very definition of "attention to detail" - so I wouldn't doubt that by clicking in the right stick or something, we could turn that second key. :sly:

The same Polyphony Digital that promised an online mode for GT4, but was later removed.

This is one of the examples I'm talking about.

Doesn't the car have to be in a complete stop before putting the key in and engaging top speed mode?

Good question - I'm not sure. I think so, but again, I'm not sure.

We could do it at the start of the race - before the green light hits. If they include that feature of the Bugatti Veyron - I'm an elated camper. :sly:

Are you serious?

The promise of an online mode is hardly what I meant by attention to detail. That's a feature in the game, not something the vehicles have that makes it amazing if they include it for detail's sake.

And that is hardly a fanboy thing to have said. If I said Polyphony Digital is the greatest racing game creator of all time - then that would be fanboyish.

They are, by the way.:sly:

You are saying that because they are PD, it's a possibility they do it. I say that, as PD, the ones who removed the online mode, it's also a possibility they don't. They could add it and then remove it.

And what does this have to do with a thread about Forza 3? :odd:

In case you did it on purpose, I have already stated that whether a joke or not, it's a fanboy thing to do. ;) Such as if I insulted my mother, and then I said "it was a joke".

Some people complain about the rewind feature of Forza 3, claiming it's stupid and unrealistic. As much as stupid it is to do that, it is also to rice out a car with decals and ugly bodykits, which many members claim (livery editor and such). One could say, each one can do whatever he wants with his game. Forza players then can do whatever they want with it. They could use the rewind feature or not, it's that simple.

Oh, and I wonder if someone has noticed GT5:P took two years, the same as Forza 3, but Forza 3 apparently has many more cars and tracks? :odd: Many things can be done in four or five years (GT5). ;)
It's another thing people forgot to mention in every Forza 3 vs GT5 / GT5 vs Forza 3 heated argument. Leave fans, developers, and trailer of Forza 3 behind. To me, it seems it will be a better game than GT5 could have been with only two years of development. Overall, GT5 should be the better game. Only time will tell.

This is all I can say about the subject.

To change modes in the Veyron you do have to pull up and insert the second key wile you are stationary and that the top speed mode switches off as soon as you brake hard. Itd'd be pointless having both modes in the game short of picking which one before the race and the game just not simulating the safety cut off when you brake. Even then I still don't see them including both modes, they haven't in other cars such as a car with a 2wd-4wd switch or cars with eco and sports modes.

And as said, this has nothing to do with this thread, try the Bugatti thread instead.

1). It's a possibility.

2). In case you did it on purpose, I have already stated that whether a joke or not, it's a fanboy thing to do. ;)

1). Then it's possible to have the Bugatti Veyron's top-speed mode in GT5

2). I said "PD is the best racing game creator ever" about 50/50 - 50% as a sarcastic fanboy joke and 50% in my honest opinion. I post here, I do not post on the Forza forums. I play Gran Turismo - I don't play Forza.

So, because I am a fan of one and not the other, I am a fanboy? If the shoe fits, I guess, Is it my fault that I don't like Forza 1 or 2 and I'm just as interested in Forza 3? No.

Gran Turismo 5 however, I am keenly interested in and I will definitely purchase it. If I want to talk-up GT5 and maybe get others excited about it as well, then that is my "fanboy" right to do so. If you are a Forza fan or neutral and like both games, then just take my Forza comments with a grain of salt. It's not like I have said anything evil or malicious about the competition - I just want to play Gran Turismo 5. I do think that Dan Greenawalt and Che Chou are really doing the hype of Forza 3 a terrible disservice when they bash Kazunori Yamauchi or the GT series. It makes them look scared.

Am I a fanboy for the Gran Turismo series? Tooth and nail, my friend. :sly:

It's not a question of PD's attention to detail, it's a question of what would work well from a game design standpoint. I guess they could make an exception for one car, maybe add an option in the real-time adjustment menu. But it would just be too cumbersome.
