FP Motorsports

This is very slow but unfortunately we sometimes get lowered during peak times. :(
Up speed is okay though. :)

Also I'll be trying some time attack now.

What the..? How's that possible??

Capped internet.

In Aus most plans have a certain amount of data allowance per month. Go over that limit and you get charged an arm and a leg or have your speed "capped" until the next billing cycle.

All that talk of Speed.. I'm still waiting for the overhead cables to be reconnected following the storms of early last week!

Right now and the other day when we raced online (reverse racing) I'm connected via a mobile 3G wifi router (mifi)

This is what that connection looks like, unfortunately that's not much worse than normal Fixed Wire connection, British Telecom have the audacity to call it super fast broadband.... :ouch::ouch::guilty:

I'm not. I know it's just a matter of time before he finds the right car with the right tune and i'm stuck trying to figure out how to knock off a full second.

Honestly, I tried like 15 different cars yesterday, and couldn't find anything competitive :D I won't even bother with it if it won't do 1:06.5 "easily". Those sub 1:06 times just seem impossible to me right now, no matter how well I drive! :banghead:

I haven't put much time into qualifying this week. I ran 5 or 6 laps to beat 2 or 3 rivals Sunday and haven't had time to play since...probably won't have time to play until Thursday night or Friday morning. :guilty:

Damn leaderboard car :banghead:

I'm starting to think I should have made it -2 points for LB car use. Too late now.

The Dart in this event is just ridiculous. I can have 4 or 5 car lengths on it coming out of the corner and then wooosh! there it goes flying by me like I'm parked.

BTW the loaner is in the garage.

Why can't we just agree, as a club, not to even use leaderboard cars for qualifying...at least from this point on? Is that unreasonable for everyone to agree to?

If we could clear the leaderboard for each rivals event that would work but lets say next week I pick a rivals event and you used a LB car in the past on that event and posted a good time that you can't beat with any other car, then what do we do? I think I will just learn from this one and make the appropriate changes if we have another championship series in the future. I really don't want to change this sort of thing after we have started.

I think we could change the point deduction rule for future races...? Not for this obviously. Using the LB car takes all the fun out of the qualifying. For me, most of the fun is trying to find a car that suits my driving style and provides a decent time.

Anyone else think the point deduction for LB car should be changed for future races? There is ALWAYS an LB car that ruins it for everyone that don't use it. :banghead: It sucks. It also looks much cooler if our club kicks ass on LB's with non-LB cars :D Hehhehe....

There you go, my "rant" ends here. :D

I hear ya, I think I'm going to build up a dart and then try to find something with those stats.

*Purple cobalt*

Or maybe everyone should use the leaderboard car.:dopey: No I hate that idea.

However I will not use a Cobalt purple. I've never heard of that color.

Are you guys angry at me, I am sorry I used the car and will use a different car for the next race. I was really excited when I was first on the leaderboard but it seems that will not happen again.

No not at all. It's allowed in the rules so by all means use it. It's T10's fault that D-class cars are not closer to being equal across the board.

No no, not at all! I'm just trying to get opinions from everyone of how we think about leaderboard cars. I don't mind people using them, but from what I've understood, we're trying to have a fair competition, and using LB cars is not very fair in most cases. If we all used the LB car, there wouldn't be a problem - if none of us used it, there wouldn't be a problem. But I think using a clear advantage should be punished somehow. Or again, then we all should use it, which I just won't :D But really, don't get me wrong, I'm not angry or anything, just trying to make a point!

I thought about it a bit more. Think of it this way: someone is ~9th on the leaderboard with a "normal" car, driving on the edge of his ability, he gets what, 2 points? He hops into the leaderboard car that no one else is using, takes the fastest time and gets 10-1= 9 points. Is it fair, I think not. Don't get me wrong :D It's not like this is my whole life or such a big deal, but those damn LB cars just corrupt everything!

^ I agree completely with you Forcone which leads me to having no choice but to do this....

ANNOUNCEMENT:

From here on (including this week) LB cars will be docked 3 points for qualifying.
