We're still hashing out the details but hopefully we'll start within the next few weeks. Lots of ideas have been tossed around like multi-class racing and being able to pick which car you want to use for the entire season.

Well it started with the post below. (Which is on this page)

Hey guys. I just thought of a wild idea for season 3. Tell me what you guys think.

How about we pick either 1 certain class (or 2 if we want to run multi class still) and we figure out a list of leaderboard cars to eliminate from being chosen, then everyone picks whatever car they want from the class that was chosen (the car could have been from a lower class and upgraded to the class running? ) Then you must remain in that same car for the entire season.

You'd be allowed to re-tune your car from race to race and even swap parts as long as you dont go over the PI restriction.

We can also do some testing if we still feel some cars that were chosen may have an advantage and have PI limits for those cars. I know we may still have some cars with a slight advantage but I think as long as we really switch up the tracks then a car that may have an advantage on one type of track will not on another...

What do you guys think?

So far it seems we want to run multi class and Im thinking B class with R2 class...

Everyone needs to state what class they would like to run...

I would most likely like to stay in the lower classes as I have never even raced in an R2 car. I wouldnt want to hinder anyone playing haha. So that being said I will stick with B if thats alright.

Alright.

B-Class:

R2-Class:

I will decide my class at the end to even things out. So as of right now I'll run R2.

Now lets get everyone in on this!!

While we are waiting i will work on what cars should be the leaderboard cars not to use.

I'm not even sure what cars are leaderboard cars anymore so I'll let you guys do that lol. Had some races with Wiggs.. Only managed to win one lol.

I think you were sandbagging on La Sarthe. :embarrassed: I was way ahead and all of a sudden you blew by me and I couldn't catch up. ;) You're a good driver though....to keep the races as close as you did without using aero on any of your cars.

Lol no sandbagging, I was just waiting for the right time to do a clean pass. you took one of the turns before the straight to wide so that was my time to act. I was trying to remember which cars where my good cars. I totally forget which cars of mine where the better :(

Either way it was fun :) 👍

Ok. I've got a list of 4 b class cars that will be considered leaderboard cars and will not be allowed.

They are... Any Elise, Civic Type R, Opel Speedster and the Vauxhall VX220. Let me know if I need to add one.

You guys running b class can pick any other car you want. Remember c,d,e,and f class cars can be upgraded to b class if you wish. So just post your selection so I can mark it down.

I'll post the R2 restricted cars a bit later.

For some reason I quit getting notified when someone posts in this thread...weird...Anyway I like Chris' idea about modifying the car you want to the next class up...This way you can have a veriety of cars on the track (weakness and strenghts showing)......Put me down for B-Class cars...anything faster than A Im all over the place.....

To be honest I dont think there are as many people into this here anymore..I dont know if its just the summer time or what since Im rather new.....Hopefully things will pick up....

BTW.....................GO USA!!

I will run r2if it helps

Here is an update. I put myself at R2 for now since it seems as though it will be the class that will need some help on recruiting.

Alright.

Also, R2 cars will be restricted to numbered race cars. Cars such as the Joss, Mosler, and the Furai will be banned.

Just post what car you guys want to select for season 3 and it will be posted beside your name.

Hmmm, I've got a bunch of B Class cars I could go with. I'll let you know a little later what my choice is. EDIT-The Mustang King Cobra and Corvette Stingray 427 are leaderboard cars in B class on speed tracks....I'll take a closer look later and see if I can find any other cars that should be banned...also the Celica SS-I and Lancia 037 on Alps or any course with long sweepers.

I think those cars are ok since they are really dependent on a certain type of track. The muscle cars will get destroyed when we run some more technical tracks so I'm ok with them being allowed. I don't think the Celica will be something to worry about on the high speed tracks although the Lancia may be something to look into.

Anyone else have any input on these cars?

I didn't see the Pinto on much of the leaderboards. If someone chooses it I can do some testing vs some of the other cars that are chosen to see if it has a clear advantage.

I have the Civic Type R on there. What other Hondas are you thinking?

Maybe that is the only Honda......Not a big fan of the car so never race it but I know online they are always up front

Would it be possible to verify what Type R? I am a big honda fan and there are actually quite a few in the game.

My fault. I forgot there is 3 of them. After some research on the fm.net forums i think it's the 04 that is the LB car... Can someone confirm?

Put me down for R2............I will be busy until Saturday afternoon so anything you need Chris, I can help then.

The '97 Civic is the leaderboard car. I'm gonna probably go with either the Renault 5 Turbo or Ferrari 250 Cali.

We are doing whats in the quote below. Probably starting either next weekend or the one after. Depends on how long it takes to iron out the details. Just trying to get everyone in a class and to get cars selected. I will post car selections beside your name when you have made your selection.

Once we get all that done then we need to decide on a day and time. Jimbo can't make the normal time and would need it about an hour later than usual. Sunday morning (here in the USA) seems like it may work also.

Gotcha. 👍 Don't forget to pick a car when you figure out which one you want to use.

I'm thinking about it, have to check what R2 cars I can use. Thinking of getting me the Porsche GT1 racecar :D I'll let you know 👍

Is it allowed to tune a numbered R3 car to R2?

I'm interested in joining, free most evenings (after 7pm) and weekends. EST Time Zone

Profile:
Mediocre at best driver, horrible tuner, I'm a very good back marker and quick study. Have some race paint skills.
Goals:
Looking to gain some experience and pick up plenty of advise along the way.

Been on F4 since May, GT5 transfer, I do have some online experience.
Would be in my best interest to race the B level cars with training wheels.

Upgraded R3 cars should be ok. Going to have to look into that Porsche GT1. Is that a "numbered" race car?
