Considering I had to take the step down for this having been more of a LMP/GT driver was interesting and adapting to the ToCA formula of racing was simpler than expected though I did struggle with my lack of aggression that others have at the start, so in Clios whenever I qualified on pole I always took it easy for the first few laps/corners which means I'm usually 3rd by the end of that lap.

Then I just watch and try to keep up and up the pace and then when someone goes offline I pounce though when I'm leading into a last lap with cars behind me I just stay cautious with corner speeds to ensure no mistakes are made, so in other words controlling the race?/pace. I only push 100% in quali or when I'm really comfortable with how I drive.

That's the issue I had. I was a hard racer, but never full on bashing, so it came as a bit of a surprise to me.

@Spurgy 777 came 7th in the FGT time trial at monaco where people were cheating. 2nd or 3rd in terms of legal cars, which shows he has pace in any car he gets in. I think he also won some super GT stuff, but I imagine he is capable of confirming that himself. I think he was top 20 in the X1 time trial as well...

2nd in the FGT TT (discounting cheaters, 1st discounting Immortal )
15th in the X1 TT, I try to avoid them though if I can, they get frustrating pretty quickly
And I think the only SuperGT stuff I've done was the PURE GT500 series where I came 5th. Almost had 3rd but my pedals decided they didn't want to be plugged in, 3 laps before the end of the last race

That reminds me when I was with a mate picking up his 7th race car. His wife texted him asking if he could pick her up at Edinburgh airport, as he was driving I had to text her back saying we were in Liverpool.

She asked why and I was told to text back "race car".


She never texted back.......

Eurgh not sure I can be bothered with this race at the weekend, the Renault is a nightmare to drive, not enjoying it one bit. Best I've managed so far is a 17.4 and that lap was on an absolute knife edge too. No way I can drive that pace regularly, and it's not even quick anyway!!

Multiple times I've been thrown into the barrier with all 4 wheels off the ground too, the car is just too front-heavy. Nothing you can do when the car decides to take off when going down the hill. Changing brake balance makes no difference either. Changing line and braking point also makes little difference, it's just not predictable. Ended up hammering the barrier on the last hairpin before Conrod straight while following Furi + Joe with the exact same line and speeds, because the Megane decided it wanted to fly. Genuinely thought I was going to clear the barrier...

Then to rub salt in the wound, I took the Civic out for a spin and got a 17.0 on first lap (with rain falling)... I don't like my Scholarship car, it's broken/grumpy with me because I painted it orange

ToCA 200k @ Bathurst - PREVIEW.

ToCA has always been about short, flat out blasts and sprints. However this weekend we try something a little different. Bathurst is host of the famed 100km V8 Supercar race, and ToCA hosts it's own 200 kilometre event this weekend. 33 laps will take over an hour to do. With no points at stake, it is a pure bout of fun. Teams and drivers are bringing special paint schemes and it also the last race run to ToCA10 regulations, which mean the final event of the Range Rover Evoque. The grid is massive, so let us go through the field for the 1st ever ToCA BATHURST 200!

Race Format
Using a new format which has 20 minute Q1 at 7.20pm GMT, and from approx 7.50pm GMT Q2 is 15 minutes. The actual event is 33 laps in length. The race will start with a pace lap run at 50mph / 80kph. Cars will form 2x2 formation with Odd numbers on the left, evens on the right. Green flag is from when the leader reaches the start stripe. 1 pit stop is mandatory for tyres. Racing Hard and Racing Wets are only permitted compounds. Pit window for the mandatory stop is Race Laps 11-22 (will show as 12-23 due to pace lap being added on in lobby). Any extra stops are optional and not affected by the pit window.
