Still really happy to have made the chassis better by not using body rigidity, took away all the terrible handling and made it much easier to drive. May explain why the car felt terrible during Brands Hatch testing(now irrelevant) and the Roar.

JUST ONE MORE NOTE ON THIS SUBJECT.

For future reference DON'T just pick cars, say "they will do" and have @snowgt sort the BoP out. Look at tyre wear, fuel consumption ect. Only then will you strike a balance. And NO bloody race cars!!

In principle, you are right, although at the beginning of the 60s the border between road and race cars was a little hazy. And putting together a field of cars with completely different concepts will always be a compromise. And there have been cars which couldn't be made to work inside the current BoP, although they were road cars.

However, if I think back to driving the C3-Vette and its fuel consumption vs. the Alpine, the differences between GTO and others are probably minute in comparison. But I'll make a test on that and will calculate what that means in lap time over a whole race. The question is, if you want to factor that into a BoP, because as a consequence the gas guzzlers would be simply quicker on one lap. But I'd suggest to postpone discussion on that until after testing actual fuel consumption.

Tyre wear is unfortunately not easily quantifiable as depends even more on setup and driving-style, so it's hard to justify a mark-down in a BoP because of it. Luckily, the influence of deterioration is also much less pronounced than it used to be in GT5. Plus, one has to to stay undamaged long enough to actually feel the influence. Seriously though, I wouldn't know how to address that. I wouldn't have time to make flawless long runs of 30 or 40 laps even prior to pre-season with each car on multiple tracks. And don't even let me think about what people say, if a car by its BoP is a second slower on each track, but has better tyre wear and fuel consumption (which you can only use, if you don't get damage). Nobody in their right mind would pick such a car.

More on that when I have tested fuel consumption.

I totally agree with everything you said Snow. The only thing I can suggest on the tyre wear front is to make the cars roughly the same weight.

I have a mandatory pit stop in place. Cars are tested. The GTO has worked. I also send Snow an initial spec for each car. If I didn't watch fuel and tyre wear, then why haven't I put the Alfa TZ2 in yet hmm? Stop complaining about something that isn't broken

I never said it was!!

I know, more intended of a general "stay off the complaints" because others tend to jump on the bandwagon.
Pit stops are intended to equalise it but obviously there are so many variables. Daiba and Snow for instance wouldn't produce same data on the 250GTO.

OK I'll get back into my box and not voice an opinion.

I'll pick the Ferrari 330 as my car. Turned out I already had that one and you wanted more of those so fits perfectly ;)

:scared: when shall I put you down as reserve from? (If OP is still showing calendar)

Here's some fuel consumption data for Le Mans, although it's not very accurate due to rather short runs:

5.5l - 6.0l per lap:
Ferrari 250GTB
Ferrari 250GTO
Jaguar E-Type
Mercedes 300SL

6.0l - 6.5l per lap:
Corvette C2
BMW 507

>6.5l per lap:
Shelby GT350

I can't say much more without much longer runs and I don't have the time for it at the moment. But this means the following: No car can go through with one pitstop less. All need two pitstops for the ca.38 laps that GT-O will have to do, based on fuel consumption alone.

Although they could theoretically be further apart, the range is something like 5.8l - 6.6l/lap. That means that total fuel consumption for the race varies by about 30 litres between cars. I have no idea how long 30 litres take to fill, but it's quite fast in GT6 as far as I remember, so I assume something like 10 seconds? That would translate into about 0.2-0.3 per lap you have to make up per lap, which is in the margin of error at Le Mans.

Not official (Need to get the ToCA crew in gear)

Revised / updated entry list to come tomorrow. Not forgotten about this... considering I can win here ;)

I may have problems with my internet connection until the end of the season.

There is a major problem in my area with internet and TV, so much so that work is expected to finish 24th September!

So If I give any lag to anyone this weekend, please let me know and I'll back out of the game.
