Fuel Cons. Test - "Normal" Setting Online vs Single Player "Very Fast"

If you create an online lobby you have a choice to set fuel consumption from Normal/Fast/Super Fast

So...

SLR - one lap on La Sarthe - 8 litters on "Normal" settings

Same car, same track in "24 minutes of Le Mans" in career - 29 litters - I guess that's "Super Fast" (or "Super Accelerated" ? can't recall how it's called)

Both tests at full throttle, changing gears at 5,500 RPM

8 litters for 13,5 km = 59l/100km or 4 MPG - that's seems pretty accurate (or just slightly off).

Most road cars do about 4 MPG if you take them to the track according to Top Gear.

The real test is can you get the Audi R18 to 11 laps on a tankful and the tyres to double stint at Le Mans.

Got 8l per lap with minimal down force and early gear changing so yeah 11/12 laps on fuel tank. Then there's the fact that it could be 8,5 but GT6 don't show that (did just one lap) so it could be closer to 11 than 12 but anyway - pretty damn accurate 👍

Really wish we could choose these settings in single player...

I tested a stock Integra around HSR over 24 laps which is 59.76 miles of a 2.49 mile circuit.

I pushing to the red line and didn't do anything to conserve tyres or fuel and at the end of it had only used either 30 or 31 litres of fuel and both my CS front tyres were at 9 after 35 minutes including out/in laps. The rear tyres were still blue and 10.

That's either 9.05 or 8.76 MPG depending on whether I used 30 or 31 litres as I believe the game always gives you the ability to add an extra litre.

Update.

Three more tests at HSR

Stock road BRZ on SH 12 litres used in 11 laps equals 10.37 MPG with no tyre loss.

Stock Z34 Fairlady of SH 20 litres used in 12 laps equals 6.79 MPG with no tyre loss.

GT300 BRZ RH 44 litres used over 27 laps, over half an hour running indicating a full hour stint should be possible and equals 6.94 MPG.

Tyres LF 9, 2nd to drop, RF 8, first to drop, LR 9, only dropped on last lap, RR 9, third to drop but after RF hit 8.

Oops. A triple post but it is warranted.

I've just competed a 40 lap run at Fuji F in a BRZ GT300. Fuel used 88 litres. Online trial with fuel/tyre use set to normal.

Racing Hard tyres at the end LF 5 RF 6 LR 7 and RR 8. 1 Hour 13.xxx and still 12 litres in the tank! That's 113.6 miles using 88 litres which is 5.86 MPG.

I was able to set laptimes within 5/6 tenths of my best lap as late as lap 32 but after that 2 seconds a lap off the best pace became normal even with really clean laps.

Lots of throttle modulation became necessary in 100R and braking zones started to extend.

Hopefully when B-Spec is added, real Endurance races will be added and I very much hope they don't default fuel/tyre wear to anything other than normal.

Thats some scary territory you are getting into mate. Quoting Top Gear as an informational source is dangerous waters indeed. Even Jeremy Clarkson doesn't believe the stuff he says. :D

Although I did watch that supercar one liter race though.
