Fuel

The point i was meaning to make, is that in racing, in a race short enough not to require pitstop fuelling, all cars would/should only be suitably fueled to the race length, unless you actually like carrying a weight penalty, by having a full tank of gas.

Fuel usage in short races will not have a dramatic effect on the handling, as usage would be slight.
In enduros the weight effect will become more apparent after about 10+ laps, and therefore is suitable for modes which run longer races.

Urgh I'd want fuel usage in all races, I want to burn fuel without paying for it gaaaah! :(

Also be funny overtaking a GT40 thats run out've fuel in a Panda ;)

yaaaay to virtual fuel, wish i could get my vans to run on it, 86.9p a litre is crippling me :yuck:

If the weight of the fuel truly affect the car's hadling in a noticeable way, that would be a great feat for PD. I dont see how you'd really be able to feel that extra weight without being in a real car.

I would like the fuel level not to be reset every race, example if I finish a race with half a tank of fuel, even in the main menu I want that car to still have half a tank so when I start another race you start with only half.

Thumbs up to fuel. Now we can spend the huge surplusses of CR. we seem to amass, whilst playing GT, on fuel for our vast amount of cars in our garages.

Hopefully, money will be harder to get in GT4 aswell, that would add to the enjoyment. In this sense we would have to perform an accurate cost-benefit analysis of putting fuel in one car as compared to another. :D

Yeh it would be a bummer if it did reset. Hopefully it wont reset. 👍

How about if you are just given a choice on how much fuel you want in your car at the start of the race. It would be kinda stupid to start off an enduro running on fumes.

If you don't play any of the harder races, you will never have to deal with fuel and tire wear.

You don't want tire wear and fuel? I can not comprehend why. Would you care to elaborate?

Well, on the plus side, at least he's not b!tching about the absence of damage... Kind of refreshing, that.

But yes, Fuel will only appear in longer races, Endurance races and the like. It will affect absolutely nothing if you have enough in your tank to get you to the next pit stop, as they'll top it off at the same time they're changing the tires.

There is no damage, and tire wear has been with the GT series for at least since GT2. And why no fuel consumption? Fuel consumption and tire wear are two HUGE factors in racing. So why not?

Preserving the tires and conserving fuel are huge parts of the strategy in racing. Killing juse tone pitstop can do amazing things, even if you are a tenth slower each lap >_<

Have you guys thought about the possibility of changing between B-spec mode and A-spec mode 'In-game' 💡 This would give you enough time to change settings / make a set-up for your pit-stop, with each adjustment taking more time to pit. :P

Hasen't tire wear been in since GT1.

I want anything that will make it more realistic.
I hope they don't do what they did in GT2 with damage where the car would just turn to the right constantly, well thats all it did for me.

would be nice if your in the midile of an endurance race and you had a fule leak then you had to go in the pits and repair it .

Yes. Sometimes cool, most of the time frusterating. It isn't going to hapen anyway.

Actually that would be quite annoying and fake as how would you get the fuel leak in the first place if theres no damage.

Imagine a 24 hour race at Nurburgring and in the last hour you had a failure that put you out of the race. I dont even want to think of the consequence. :scared:

I only see 'simulated' damage or 'performance reducing' things happening to cars if the endurance races were real length endurance races like 1000km or 24hrs...

It wouldn't be logical that we could always (and computer AI cars as well) complete these length races without ever obtaining some kind of failure, but then again with GT races only having 5 other cars it maybe pointless as usually only one other car has some kind of resemblance of being somewhat competitive...

It would be kinda kewl, that you'd have to go into pits and change a gearbox and it take 25mins or something... make yourself some sandwiches, have a rest or something in that time...

I also would find it annoying losing by a lap after doing this too!!! But, heck I like endurances, and if you can 'save in-pit' this time around, it won't be such a problem then would it... I also like to see maybe if these 1000 or 24hrs races make it into GT at some stage, that you chose the class you are to win, thus you could choose GTS class and race quicker LMP/LM type classes and try to beat them...

If you were doing a 100lap endurance of Midfield raceway and it took you 25mins to fix/replace a gearbox. You would lose more than just a lap (depending on the car). If for example you were in a Toyota GT-One Race Car you may actually lose 25laps, which is not cool. :guilty:

While we are talking about messing up the car, why not look at full realism.

You spend 2,000,000 on a car, spend 100,000 maintaining it, and go to a race to win 50-100,000 dollars.

:( I'll stick with how far it is at the moment.

When someone does an Enduro (24hr), Go for the first stint flat out and once pitted and fuel is topped up, in the next stint, just shift like 3000rmp less the whole way and see if you can last acouple of more laps out on the track.

That would be the ultimate in realism.

So is it in and how is it implemented? Do u get to adjust it or does it fill by itself and does it run out based on how hard you are pushing the engine or runs out based on distance?
