Oh my God.

Reading through this thread, I honestly can't find the words to correctly articulate my disgust. I'm not wanting a "well don't read this thread, then!" reply, I just find the notion of taping up our control pads to play the game automatically absolutely shocking.

Gran Turismo has always been about the incredibly realistic experience of driving, something you could sit for days on end totally absorbed in. But this auto-driving just to make progress is just, well.... wrong isn't it? What in God's name has happened to the series? At this rate, GT6 will be a completely hands-off game. Just switch it on and watch the game percentage clock up gradually to 100%, all controlled by Bob-like AI within the 'game'.

I swear I would love to meet Kaz and shake the life out of him.

Disclaimer = I'm not saying what YOU guys are doing is wrong, I mean the fact these measures have to be taken just to make progress is wrong...

I am doing this in "Extreme Series" "Like the wind" "Superspeedway - Indy" with my X1. You only have to be level 21 for this version.

I am using my steering wheel and a usb keyboard as above.

Get the wheel setup like normal so FF kicks in etc, then unplug the power to the wheel so it is mega light and offers no FF. Turn ever so slightly to the right as above you want to hit 248ish mph along the straight, if you dont then turn to the left a tiny bit.

It is 5 laps long and takes under 4mins (3:40 then say 20seconds between the race) and pays out 84,000 per race and 3,564exp although not great for leveling up mega money maker.

THANK you. Stupid b-spec is now dead to me now.

I for one would rather drive to level up then to grind but lets face it whats the point of the game once you hit 25? If you want to get the X1 then whats the point of the game past lvl 30.

So many loop holes in this game that its almost more fun finding them then it is playing the game at high levels.

Only reason I am still playing is because I can play online with my friends in the lounge and even that could be so much better then what it is now. Simple things that make it more about racing rather then waiting around for load screens.

For those of you that don't have an extra keyboard you can get one for 2.99 from the goodwill today. Cheap and easy. Only doing this on lvl 21 like the wind to make me some big money. The xp isn't great but I could care less. The last two races I have will be done by my hands. So no worries here I'll have all gold by the time I'm done.

Thanks for the how to!!!

Totally agree.

Nothing against anyone who uses this method, but it is however, indicative of how bad GT Life actually is.

How did Polyphony get the driving physics, traditionally the hardest aspect, so right but the gameplay so wrong?

wow u guys cant be serious

whats the point in all this? after this autogrind machine reaches lv40 what will your do? quit game?

i drive cars to enjoy, i dont need to win game in 1 month of playing, gt was allways game that i play months and months for FUN

I wont do what you guys are doing as I just dont have the desire. But I totally understand the logic and the reason for doing this lol.

GT5 feels like a product of a burnt out staff and a company looking to recoup on 5 yrs of resourses after a long gestation period because they bit off more than they and the PS3 can chew. I think they just cobbled together what they had done so far and decided its been long enough lets make some money. Promise to throw in some freebie DLC content and upgrades that should appease the masses and just move on to GT6. At least thats how it looks and feels to me. Hopefully GT6 will find PD returning to form.

Point is:

-Reaching 40 so you never have to worry about it again this whole stupid leveling system. ( And again..everything is gold yes )
-Getting easy cash so I can enjoy buying, tuning and racing the cars I really want to race and not ne obligated to race certain tracks with certain cars just for the sake of exp. and cash.
-Getting easy cash to maintain my online racing cars which costs millions.
-Not having to spend my very limited time to grind exp. or cash at all.

So in general...this helps me enjoy the game even more without it costing me ridiculous amoutn of time and effort cause PD messed things up.

Ye that sums it up sortof :)

I agree that this situation is horribly sad. Right now I am having more fun buying cheap UCD cars and practicing on all the GREAT tracks that are left out of the main gameplay.......

I just hit A spec 25 to open endurance races and now im completely bored with GT Life. I had to grind to get from 24 to 25. Seeing as I only get the 300K Grand Valley opened up, I guess Ill have to grind some more to get to 26. Unacceptable! It would have been better to have just reused the GT4 platform from the get go.:indiff:

You are doing somethign wrong man, you should hit 35 when you have done everything. Gold all events including the Special events / Licences and so the seasonal events gold as well.
There is NO NEED to grind untill 34/35 isch !

Thanks alot for this technique, i needed the money to buy a Ferrari F10 and a 330 P4, so i just used a keyboard and 2 elastics, one of the elastics for the slight turn attached to the charging cable and the other for the full throttle atttached to R2, and the piece of paper on numpad, seems to work great!

Except once after 4 hours of racing he crashed into the wall and kept going into the wall for 2hours , i guess some AI driver must have crashed into him, but so far it seems to work fine now.

Strange that is crashed into the wall, you either got the angle of steering wrong or you where realyl unlucky. I had mine run for over 24 hours a few times and alot of 10 hour runs and not a single crash.

Glad it works though so ya get ya car and enjoy the game :)

Yup 20million, I had 17million and left my ps3 going with this method for around 6 hours.

I came back to a message between races saying you cannot have more than 20million :( pretty random to me.. It still lets you race etc you just loose the money.

I am one who is against cheating, but I wouldn't consider this to be "cheating". My initial thought was, damn that looks ghetto. Can't wait to get my X1, that test is going to be brutal though, I can tell already.

I don't see why people are complaining about GT LIFE, it all comes down to the X1. That car is like poison to the game right now; the market is flooded with it. With that being said, I'd be completely fine with the X1, if it wasn't duped a million times and everybody earned it either by saving up 20 million credits or completing the tests.

That's a disgrace.

I am seriously considering selling my PS3 and buying that other system with that other game, or maybe do so when the new version of that other game is released. I bought the PS3 in the summer for the sole intention of buying GT5 when it eventually came out. But now GT5 is just annoying me more and more each day.

I know what your saying and i am starting to feel the same. What i have been doing is using this method to make the max credit and then buy the cars i want. I then just go online and race all aids off with abs 1.

The problem is, I've always been totally into the single player mode of Gran Turismo, culminating in a full 4+ years of playing GT4; 3 separate games started and completed, with a perfect 100% in my 3rd attempt (all golds in licenses, all races, all missions, all cars collected with not a single bloody awful b-spec point or mile - there was nothing more I could've done).

But GT5... good grief, I just don't understand what PD were thinking. There is about 90% of the game that just baffles me when I try to understand their decision process in it's development. As a single player game, it's an utter catastrophe.

I realise that it's all about online nowadays and so a lack of single player playability won't be to everybody's digression. So perhaps GT just isn't the game for me any more. :indiff:

Further proof of how bad this game really is.

Should have released an online only version if that was the all the developers wanted to perfect. I don't even bother with online so you can imagine how dead this game is to people like me LOL

Having golded everything bar the eiger special event and the last 3 endurance events I am bored with a spec. B spec is worse and online is crap unless I race with mates.

So this method helps me grind away while I do other things so I then have the money I need to purchase the cars I want to drive. Thanks to this I can now purchase the cars I really want and use them in practice mode to lap the ring (which never gets old) or race with my mates online and offline.

This single thing has taken the grind out of gt5 for me and made the game more fun. Now don't get me wrong I remember the old gt's when you had to grind too and I didn't mind that then. I'm now older and cant afford to sit in front of a TV for hours, so when I want to play I want to enjoy the game. I think this latest version takes grinding to the extreme though compared to the old gt's.

This for me is just purely for money and nothing else. I have already played through the game more or less and I just want to fill my garage with class cars to enjoy.

My keyboard doesnt repeat the enter (x) function... it just repeat one time, until i press again, no matter if its pressed down or glued or anything...

i am missing something?

I had similar problems its the matter of timing with the enter key...

Small tip for the keyboard thing:

Setup your controller first so you do not have to touch it again, only when completly done press the enter button and hold it down with something and do NOT touch any other keys anymore after that.
I found that if you give other inputs after leeping the enter pressed down it won't work indeed :)

may i ask why you even want to auto-a-spec-grind? isn't this game not all about driving cars? and b-spec if you want to watch and not drive?

so what "auto grind" for?
