They also haven't won a Stanely cup since what? 1962? And yet they still sell out every game and theres a huge waiting list for season tickets. The owner of RIM (Blackberry maker) wants to buy the Coyotes and bring them to Hamilton (half hour away from Toronto) and I'm suspecting the Leafs owner has a lot to do with the problems he's facing in getting them.

And no, the Leafs don't really have anything to do with it. He wants to buy and move the team against league rules and that's why his bid to buy the team was denied. If he did win it, only then would he need to think of the Leafs getting in the way, and even then if there was any trouble all it would take is a sum of money that Balsillie has.

Most owners, along with Bettman seem to really hate Balsielle. He's been trying to buy teams up for a while, I believe the Coyotes will be his third, after the Penguins (fair weather fans here didn't support them until they got good), and I believe Nashville. He's pretty tenacious, but I doubt he will get a team as long as Gary Bettman is commish.
The Leafs make me sad. Every year I get excited and think this is their year, and they always disappoint me, still, you can never give up on your team.
