Funny/Strange News Stories

If there's anything worse than American politics, it's British politics.

Tony Farnon - Independent 8
Norman Scarth - Independent 8

Eight votes, only? They don't have family or friends? Pathetic sods!

Yes. I agree. Politics should be about voting for who you like, rather than people whose policies you agree with...

In other news, according to the BBC, Adelaide has moved. It was clearly bored being in Southern Australia and has taken a cross-continental hike to the warmer reaches of the Northern Territory!

edit: They've taken the picture down already! :P

With the weather we have been having the past few days I'd be quite happy to have Adelaide moved up north.

Being teased by the Victorians for being South Australian was enough, but now we're in the Northern Territory? :ouch:

Nooo!! I love the weather, harden up. :P

Atleast in the northern territory my flights would be shorter :D.

Nah teasing ain't the problem, it's all the inovative ideas and events we have that Victorians throw money at and steal, hopefully in the NT they can't reach them (nice hot desert in the way).

A couple of amusing and bizarre, if not especially funny recent Schumacher stories.

Unrelated amusing and bizarre if not especially funny recent and not-so-recent Schumacher photographs strictly for illustration.

Liberals and their Thought Suppression (political repression) hard at work.

It goes both ways, but this particular bit was hilarious:

He then said, "I am a Democrat, and here is my energy plan" and he held up a picture of an old VW Bug with a sail attached to it. He paraded around the House floor with the sign while the crowd cheered.

I saw that story earlier, and I agree with Dan - still, I think laughing at "Flat Earthers" is about the best response. If they won't take the evidence seriously, why should they be taken seriously in return?

I did like the bit about building a "global community of flat-earthers".... nuff said. :dunce:

I'd actually be more pissed off about that because WHO pays for all that food? we do... Nice to know when you go to jail you still have rights...

It can't be more than $50. It's a one time thing, he isn't gonna get KFC and pizza forever. So in the end it's saving a ton of money because most people plead innocent and drag everything out.

Sounds like he is from this statement.
A New York man who pleaded guilty to murder in Oregon in exchange for buckets of fried chicken will get calzones and pizza to go with his life sentence.

Why plea for a break from jail food for one time? Half the food they listed, he wouldn't have wanted to eat on the same day anyways.

You'd think that since ice cream got him into this mess that he'd never want to see the stuff again, but there it is, right at the end of both meals.
