Hey mask, in future translation updates, can you put links to the actual translated image in the post you make to indicate an update? That would make keeping up with it easier.

Sorry, I mean I don't know how to get to that screen.

Do you need to press something while you are watching the replay?

"Replay Theater" or "Photo Drive" (in a course), during replay, press "Select".

Wierd, that one has 100ps the one I saw in the used car lot only had like 70ps.

Plus I burst out laughing when I saw that car, don't ask why I just found it funny.

lol, I can't explain it. I've just always been charmed by the Bluebird - it's like the elitist's Skyline of the time.

Hey MaskMen,

remember my "little plea" about the National cups and their content? Could you maybe - just maybe - do the same for all the races in Mission Hall, as well as for the other races in the game :) (rules, cars, and so on...)?

I know I asked this, but I guess that lots of us with Japanese/Chinese "problems" would appreciate this.

And it would come very handy to have such a database of Races n' Events in GT4.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Maskrider, I originally posted this in the GT4 prize car list thread but all the chat there is currently arguing over what model/year some damn Toyota is :banghead:

I was hoping that perhaps you could answer as 1twojay must be busy playing GT4! Cheers anyway.

1twojay:

What was the 1st car that you purchased? And with hindsight would you still choose this car over others that are available?

I only ask as my copy of GT4 arrived today!!! I want to rack up some winnings 1st and then go and spend my wad wisely.

Cheers for all the work that you have put in to give us all an insight into what to expect. Without the hard work from yourself and other GTPlanet members I would be staring at pages of Japenese text without a clue as to where to start!

I think I am not the right guy to answer your car choice question, I have never been a car freak and I am quite weak in GT indeed and I am not joking. Ha ha !

I am practicing by trying to get all golds in license tests at the moment. Getting away from my arcade racing way of controls.

BTW, my first car is Mit. LAN EVO VIII RS which I bought with the extra 10M credits from GT3, without that extra amount I will be scratching my head hard trying to figure which one to get, well, may be a used MR2.

Hey Maskrider no worries. Thanks for the update, i'm currently busy trying to get all silvers interspersed with a few golds otherwise I coould be in for the long haul. Just got my Gold on one of the international b licenses i think it is up against the pace car. The one where you drive a full lap of Suzuka in under 2:48. Boy does that pace car brake early on the final chicane, went slamming into his arse the 1st time around.
Keep up the good work, I would chip in helping others out but i don't have a video capture card!!

Can't wait till they release GT4 in the US/UK then I can finally navigate my way around without my laptop sat at the side of me so I know which buttons to press.

:)

I was wondering if you could post a translation for the pop-up message that appears when you race a series for a second time. I went back to the Clubman Cup races (after beating them with a 270R) to race them again with my SRT-4 Neon to make some cash and before each race I get a screen with two options and I would like to know what it says, or just a quick description.

I was wanting the same explanation. I know if you choose the reply on the right it wipes out all your wins for that series. While this sounds like a pointless thing it actually is very cool as it allows you to win the bonus car again. I don't know how it affects your A and B spec points, however.

stepomfret- I started with the '91 Prelude Si VTEC as it has 200HP and is pretty light. Was able to start winning races with no mods.

Amar- The mission races are all very obvious. There are basically 3 types: THE PASS=pass 1 car in a given set of turns before the finish; The next set you need to come in first place before the end of 3 laps; and the last set (my favorite) is basically same as the second set except you only have 1 lap and have to sit there on the starting block as you watch the other 5 competitors get the head starts depending on how fast they are.

I have a few questions.
In this pic:
pit-in-allno.jpg

does it cost you credits to put new tires on the car? (for example, if you changed all 4 tires, would it charge you the same cost that it did when you purchased them in the tuning shop, or are they free when you change tires in the pits?)
Also, does it cost credits to re-fuel the car?

Also, when you add a wing in GT Shop (for example, the wing you added to the Lancer) does it add more downforce than the stock wing that came on the Lancer, or does the downforce level remain the same?

Here they go, also in the first post.

If you exit a championship race, a question pop-up
Exit or not ?

On the big map, a message will blink
Hey, you are still in a race

Trying to access something that may affect the current championship race, a message pop-up
Hey, you shouldn't access here

And a question pop-up and ask if you want to continue the race
On the big map, a message will blink
Want to continue your race ?

If you selected cancel, another confirmation question pop-up
On the big map, a message will blink
Are you sure you want to withdraw ?

If you selected ok, your confirmation of withdrawl will pop-up
On the big map, a message will blink
Don't want to play again ? Ok, you are a free man now.

Doesn't cost anything.

If you have not bought a wing from GT shop, your downforce options are disabled.

Dear Maskrider

First of all thanks for your work. Otherwise it would be impossible to play the importversion (for a german ;-).

Two short questions please:

How can I use my GT-Mode cars in Arcade-Mode? and
How can I set favorites in car-select screen?

Thanx!

In the wing shop, there's a guy. When you select it, it cost 500 (or 50'000 cr depending the version). I select it and it shows a (maybe error) message.
Do you know what's the purpose of this guy ?
I haven't seen that on the translation.
Thanks in advance

Hi maskrider

First of all i'd like to thank you for all your hard work on answering everyones questions on GT4 and for all the screenshots of cars and menu screens with translations, its very hard for us Europeans and North Americans who don't read japanese/chinese etc to gather information on GT4.

Secondly i have a few questions i'd like to ask you on GT4 that no matter how hard i search, i can't find a straight answer - its all hearsay.

1) Can you confirm that there is no 'race modification' available to road cars?

2) Do you know of an option to switch between MPH and KPH?

3) Can you 'save' during an endurance race ?

4) Is there a 'paint shop' in GT4? (some of the earlyer 'demonstration' menus seemed to have this option, and i'm sure i've seen a screen shot of an all black Mazda 787B)

The default wing on some cars cannot be changed
The message tells you that you already have the selected wing installed
Confirm the purchase and install of the select wing
New wing installed
Confirm reveting to the default wing
Reverted to the default wing

1. I am not really a GT (nor car) freak, please tell me what do you mean by 'race modification'.
2. Never aware of such an option.
3. Haven't opened up Endurance yet.
4. Not aware of paint shop.

after half of the list i cant the pictures anymore! is it my computer oor there's something wrong with the pictures??

Don't know what pictures are you talking about, please be specific. I had recently refreshed all the translations in my picture gallery, if you mean the gallery, may be you are viewing them when I delete all them and add again.

Understood, but I guess I should have worded my question differently, so. Let's use your Lancer as an example. It comes with a factory wing, which you can adjust downforce with, correct? (which has a maximum amount of downforce). Now, since you added that aftermarket wing, does it change how much maximum rear downforce is available on that Lancer now? (ie. does it have more downforce than the stock wing?).
Thanks :)
