I´ll post some (slow) times later, when I have time to give it a proper try... but Dragonistic, those times you´ve posted are very fast in my books! 👍

I'm sure you can manage some good times, it's just odd to think you guys, who i know some of you are highly talented racers, can be a second away from what i managed. I believe in you!
I did 6 laps on one tune which got me to 1:54.8, then another 6 got me the 1'53.876. I've always been quick to adjust to new cars as i didn't even have the viper up until those first 6 laps. I managed to grab that extra second through changing some of the settings i'd left stock (3 settings precisely) Which i won't state until after the event incase someone robs it .

I think you should definitely open up shop with a garage thread of your own. :) As for lap times, I know for a fact that most drivers (usually the ones with a steering wheel) are 1-2 seconds faster than me on a free run. I'm not a perfect driver. :) In a live situation this can all change ofcourse, as there are loads of other factors influencing your lap times then. Which is exactly why I value stability above speed. :)

Yea, i have been aware even if i am faster then most of the field, it all goes to pot if you don't get a clean get away. Thats what make racing so exciting, it's never over til the black and white flies.

Should be good racing..although the times I have had fed back to me from my test drivers seem to indicate that 888 has the quickest car yet again, you other boys certainly have your work cut out for you.

Oh hello Mister Cocky, as far as I know everyone except one person last time said my Swift was faster, so please don't go making untrue claims now. In honesty I don't know who's was faster, so I judged them equal. But still, not many said yours was faster.

When you fix it I'll link it.:)

So what laptimes you are getting out of the official tunes? (online free run)

1'54s.

Yes, would be nice to have a quad-review of the Viper tunes. :)

+1

I don't know seeing as the tune only just came! But everywhere else i hear 1:55s-1:56s, So either someones hiding fast laps, im a much better driver then i thought (unlikely) im a much better tuner then i thought (also unlikely). Someone out there must be running similar times.

I am now. I'm running 1'54s consistantly with a new update I made to the gears (hope they're not similar to anyone's else's, I jumped in the car and realised something could be done, so I did it). One lap I had a 1'53.9.........but I slipstreamed some AI cars down the opening straight on the first time around.

Same, I'm normally slower in time trials, but find myself challenging the best of the best drivers in races.

ATTENTION TLD DRIVERS

I made a huge mistake. Jumped in the car today and realised the gears were all wrong. Just had a 1.5hr tuning session on gears alone and came up with a far better result than before. Lap times have dropped a full second it seems. Please check my setup sheet in TLD for the changes. In the end, only 1st gear and Final drive were changed. I'll PM you all to be sure you get the message.

I think i'm going to try break into the low 1:53s in free run :)

You suspect.:sly: How can you be so fast?!:P

Edit: Oh yeah, upon checking the competitor's tunes I realised that my updated settings just made me more different to them. I went in completely the opposite direction LOL. But mine's better so :P And I guess my time is pretty good for a controller? (1'54s)

Sorry those who viewed my tune, ignore the aero and tyres. I forgot to fix them using another car as a template when posting. The tyres and aero are set in the game so all the settings are correct.

Apologies again. Was in a haste to post.

With regards to times, Standard I get a 1.54.7xx, with my tune i'm in the low 1.53's

So it's fixed now? Good, I'll link it in the opening post.

Eh, i've taken the biscuit now and pulled a 1:52.9 out the bag :)

I'll try the set up now J-PaP

You guys are just freakishly fast drivers. Freaks.:P

When this guy's scared I've officially soiled myself.

I'm not so fast on the L-Tune, its less stable then my own and i could see how it could be faster then my own. But it's not as easy to drive on the sixaxis as i imagine it is for mr J-PaP on the wheel.

Need to make some adjustments to my driving but it's doable.

Was always correct. The two settings that were wrong you couldn't change on the viper anyway :)

OK, it's done. Let's set a date for this race now.:) Everyone OK with this weekend?

You'd probably hate mine then, fast but probably not so stable like the others.

I'll guage resonse over 24hrs for a race this weekend. I will also add that thanks to addition garages, PAL "Race 2" is not happening this time. And NTSC is looking a little shaky too. You guys should ask any mates you have on NTSC from GTP if they'd like to race for one of the garages. Tomorrow when I come online, if everything is hunky dory, I'll put in the offical race dates.

I'm good for this weekend.

I don't know what i did to pull that 52.9 but i just can't beat it in my own car, average is 1'53.7-1'54. I don't think i'll ever beat the 52.9, annoyingly i lost the ghost to in my haste to try L-Tunes offering.

Yeah, I should be cool for a weekend race. Looking forward to the Cup races this week, we will start to see how close the tunes are and which drivers are up there.
Just started getting used to Fuji as well, just in time :nervous: Its such a testing track, you constantly want to let rip with the throttle but you're constantly slowing down, except for the start/finish straight. Patience is the way to win this track.

Quoted for truth.

Knowing when to put the power on, when you should go outside and come back for high exit speeds. It makes for interesting racing with so many different ways around the turns.

In other news I'm going away til Wednesday, so this could effect me, or it may not. Either way I'm turning up :)

Mate.. you above anyone should know that talk means nothing.. its the name at the top of the winners list that says it all.
You can judge the cars however you want, but the only thing that speaks the truth is the timing sheets. No excuses no stories no bull****. You got beat and if you believe it was by a slower car then you will just have to deal with it.

Now as for my original comments.. Welcome to the art of pre-race talk.. I dont give away info... if my comments upset you and make you angry, then I have already won. :) its almost zen-like :sly:

Are we able to make changes to our tunes once published ??

Yeah, Holden, I thought that was the whole point of having test drivers?

A bit questionable, yes... ..but ok with me.. Yet, I think we shouldn´t drift into releasing a tune and then discovering something little and then changing. The hole point is that you take your time and make it the best you can and then release it.

And for the swift cup, the 888 must have been faster.. I did ok with it in the 1st race then...LOL ;)

True, this also means that this showdown is not just about tuning skills, it's the driving skills that probably weigh in even more. :)

We could consolidate the NTSC competition into a single race, one-two for each garage.

A truer word could not be said.

Taking nothing away from the drivers cause the racing I have seen so far is so close its almost dead even, but the best car will still remain point-less without a decent pilot.

I fully expect to have my Tuned ass handed to me on a platter at some stage throughout this comp, until then I get to Strut !!!!
