V8's are outdated? I suppose you alone are going to convince Ferrari to replace the V8 in the 458 Italia with a rotary engine, and throw an AWD system in it so we can go drive a track car in the mud.

The wheels on the GTS version are awesome, suits the sexy lines while still looking elegant.

That exhaust clip video sucked. I could only tell which one the LFA was. Everything else sounded like ****.

Sounds reasonable to me, have a similar set up as the previous car and add a full underbody.

To me, the Viper exhaust note sounds terrible next to those two.

The Viper in the video barely did anything. One of them stopped next to me at a stop light, I then followed it as it drove away. It sounded fine.
 
The first 2013 Viper just sold at Barrett-Jackson for $300,000. Proceeds, of course, went to charity and the car came with a package that included:

- SRT Track Experience with instructors
- VIP Trip to Petite LeMans (probably with SRT Pit Passes)

And that was all that was mentioned.

The Viper's exhausts aren't pointed directly at the camera like the other two cars, plus the Viper's V10 has a very different architecture than the others. It's quite a lot larger and has a very different firing order, resulting in a deeper, more rumbly sound. It's like comparing a Corvette's V8 to a Ferrari V8.

Indeed, the Vipers side exit exhausts don't help it in that video clip. The Vipers V10 does have a unique, yet subdued sound & it's pretty much always been that way from what I've heard(in person & on video). It sounds nice & throaty in general, but I'd have to agree with the Ignition video clip posted here earlier, in that it's one of the worst sounding V10's out there. I personally prefer GM's LS V8 exhaust note compared to the Viper's V10 & some other exotics, my opinion of course.
 
Viper won't be sold in Europe
A Chrysler spokesman has confirmed the 2013 SRT Viper will not be available in Europe.

There were some rumors and speculations about the new Viper not reaching the old continent which have now been confirmed by an unnamed spokesman at Chrysler who refused to explain this surprising decision. Apparently, Chrysler wants to focus its available resources on successfully launching the new model in the U.S.

Other reasons could include the problematic new car market in Europe, unfavorable exchange rates, as well as the continent's economical and financial issues. In addition, Chrysler's dealer network in Europe is quite weak which means that if they will bring the SRT Viper, it will have to be sold next to Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Lancia models.

I was gonna call BS on the decision until I got to the part regarding the Dealershipwork as well as the Financial issues (which I swear I keep hearing more about in Europe very often). Is it really that bad?
 
Interesting. Not that it will stop the wealthy from getting their hands on one outside of the states. But it is interesting none the less.

Well the Euro-crisis lingers on but for now at least seems under control without any real solution in sight, that ofcourse translates to consumer optimism etc. but I doubt that's the real reason.
The Viper would probably be very insignificant saleswise in Europe (same as the Corvette) and probably not worth investing in too much by selling it officially through Chrysler dealerships (or Fiat/Alfa/Lancia).
I'm sure that private importers will sell quite a few though if exchange rates are favourable.
 
Sorry, but the original GTS is so much cooler in my opinion. It looks like it wants to kick me in the groin numerous times and laugh while doing so.
 
Maybe the original GTS with the new headlights....IDK I really like the new GTS.
 
I'm not sold on the new viper yet. Something feels kit-car-like about the exterior design. It seems there isn't enough professional level detailing. The first gen vipers were built like kit cars, but they look OEM, at least from 10ft and further. The new one looks somehow not fully developed.
 
The more I see the new Viper, the more I love its design. This is one of those times where I love a newer design even while being a purist of a car's past design. I like to make an analogy that this newer Viper as a nicely-dressed rock star- someone who'll still kick your tail while looking good doing it. The new Viper may be devoid of character in its looks, but it hasn't lost its performance character. I acknowledge this car doesn't have the character of any past Vipers before it. I still love this newer Viper. I'll be straight as long as it's in blue with white stripes- the way I've always loved Vipers. Well, maybe also red with white stripes reminiscent of the Oreca Vipers.

I am probably expecting a convertible or roadster Viper of some kind. But, I've never liked the Viper as a convertible to be honest. Not the RT-10 Viper of the 1990s. Not the Viper convertible of the 2000s. Probably not going to like this one much as a convertible/roadster either.

It's called "Self control." In fact, every Viper I've ever seen on the street has been driven fairly gingerly.

I have seen a video on youtube where someone who had one, was weaving in and out of traffic and then smashed into the back of a typical American slush-mobile!:sly: How o you respond to that?:sly:

I get what you are saying about the styling. I do prefer the previous models:tdown:

Meh, seems like the more I look at the new Viper, the more I dislike it (Same with the C7, but that's another thread). I dunno, I guess it would grow on me some day.
But compared to the 2006 model, a lot of the new Viper seems alien. The head and tail lights, the fog lights, the hood, the roof split, the grill, and the odd shape of the spoiler is bugging me.
