Really? Do you mean the GTS based ACR or the SRT-10 ACR? If you mean the later then I'm confused. The GTS is a better looking generation.

GTS ACR is the best but the SRT-10 version (to me) is almost on equal footing. When you combine both which seems to be the way Dodge are going, then you have the best of each world.

I can see your point. But it would still be nice to see the general trend continue. Anyone also notice that every style change seems to change the manufacturer. Chrysler; Dodge; SRT? :odd: What's next?

SRT isn't a manufacture though...SRT is the same thing as Ford's SVT or BMWs M group. Those aren't Manufacture's just high performance divisions of the mother ship, better yet a brand name. Also I don't recall it being Chrysler, it's always been Dodge which is owned by the Chrysler group but it wasn't a Chrysler exlusive car. Well I do remember it being called a Chrysler during the Le Mans days however, but still dodge in N. America.

I'm not so sure about that. I can certainly see why some people prefer the Gen I/II Vipers, but the SRT-10 is a great looking car. Especially Gen IV. I don't see the GTS as being any more Viper than the SRT-10.

It was only Chrysler outside of the US.

Good. I don't think I could ever believe that would be the design, since it's been done before.

Speaking for myself, I wouldn't complain if Dodge pulled a fast one and restarted the old production line with the same design as before - the last-gen Vipers look absolutely gorgeous.

I can only hope that the new one lives up to the legacy of its forebears - it'll be a TALL order to fill!

Can we add the words "Dodge Viper" or "SRT Viper" to the title please? I had something I wanted to share and had no idea where the Viper thread was. Only found this because I searched.

Anyway, the SRT facebook page is trying to get 2013 likes in the next 2013 minutes (33 hours) and they will post another photo of the car.

As a longtime Viper fan, I am so stoked to know its coming back and next, we'll get to see it. It also please me that just going off the teaser, it looks to be going back to the original GTS shape. I hope to see it up close if Dodge actually decides to bring it to the Texas State Fair.

Anyone know what the QR code is on the seat?!

Pretty sure it's only the third generation.
Nope, the viper's on it's 5th gen as crazy as it seems.
First Gen was the RT/10. Second gen was the phase 2 SR model from 1996-2002, chassis was nearly completely redesigned and the changes were significant enough for it to be called a new gen. Third gen was the ZB 2003-2006 car and the 4th gen is the phase 2 ZB. Again, changes were drastic enough for them to call it a new generation model.

I tried to scan but couldn't get it, my phone was not picking it up.
In the FB comments, it said it went to an event page webcast reveal of the viper.

The one thing I appreciate about Corvettes and Vipers is their adherence to the traditional manual.

Paddle shift just makes it too easy.

I don't get how they are announcing this as an "all new car" when it only looks like a facelift to me. :odd:

Seems that way, but I'm sure most Viper fans would want to keep it that way. Myself sort of being one, I would be happy enough with the "facelift."
