Why allow custom soundtracks during the races and replays but not during the menus?
Through my 5.1 home cinema amp, the music volume is relatively way too low during the races and replays. With all volume values on the default settings, I can barely hear the music. I'm using the hdmi for audio from the ps3 - anyone else have this same issue?
I had the same problem but was able to adjust the game audio and music levels to an acceptable level using the sliders in the Audio section of the Options Menu.
As for bugs and glitches, I have one serious issue that has not been mentioned in this thread .....
I am at Level 22 and 53% completion .... I have purchased dozens of "Fully Customizable" gearboxes (20K credits), none of which are adjustable other than the final drive ratio. All of the individual gear boxes are greyed out and are simply not accessible with the cursor. This is a bummer to say the least.
Also, since we are forced to drive some of the cars without cockpit views, we must then drive them from "outside" the car. This in itself is not a problem for me. The problem is that I cannot hear my own car above the sounds from the cars around me. I have to glance down at the linear rev-counter to see the flashing red light to be able to know when to shift. This distraction has cost me several races. It is especially noticeable in the Expert Event / Galardo Trophy when using the roof view. Adjusting the Race Sound Effects in the Options Menu does not have any effect on this issue.
While not necessarily a glitch, I find it odd that a player at level 22 such as myself can't enter an event with a 19 rating. In the Expert Series / Gran Turismo Allstars, most of the competing cars are made up of the Le Mans type cars from GT4 such as ... Nissan R92, R89C, R390GT1; Sauber Mercedes C9; Jaguar XJR-9LM; Minolta Toyota 88C; Gillet Verigo; Pescarolo Courage; Audi R8 Race Car and Mazda 787B. I have never seen any of these cars in the game as award cars, nor are any of them available to purchase other than the Mazda 787B .... problem is that the cost of the Mazda is a ridiculous 5,260,000 credits. I realize that I could always enter the race with another car, but lets be serious ... what would be the point ? It just seems that whomever designed the ladder of progression for the game had maybe just a bit too much sake the night before
EDIT ... I did find 2 applicable cars in the Peugeot dealership, although they weren't listed in the typical competitor list. And unlike the Mazda, they are only 4,000,000 credits a piece. Also, I finally broke down and entered the event with my Raybrig NSX and finished 2nd in the Championship. Thought it peculiar, so re-entered and finished second again with my Dodge SRT10 ACR Viper (shouldn't happen in real life).
I am an avid GT addict and have been since day 1. As an example, I have over 70 F2007's in my Prologue garage. I have to say, that I am greatly disappointed in the way Sony handcuffed Kaz into the PSP and 3D crap and not allowing him to create the masterpiece that everyone expected. I'm beginning to believe that Kaz is more of a "car collector" than he is a game "designer". I still love the game and receive great entertainment for my money, no real complaints there ... just disappointment in the lack of polish I was expecting
