I spent almost 100K modding a R33 before turning of my console.(I made sure to save) When I turned on the game the next day, all the power adding parts were gone with all of the money I spent. :yuck:

Really annoying bug in online racing in open lounge, screen stays blank for ages when a race is starting, by the time i get to start the race has already started and a couple of players have a 30 sec or so head start. Why does it not wait for all players to be ready?

Another annoying thing although not so much a bug is that you can't change tyres or other settings during the countdown when someone's been over eager to select start race.

Just done the Gran turismo rally Beginner event on the tarmac section 2 the shadows were flickering on and off and spectators were appearing and disappearing all over the place and the track in general was glitching badly. Anyone else had this happen I'm yet to go back in to see if it does it again.

Just did that yesterday and it was fine.

About my post above.. all my cars came back after restarting the game.

what's up Jerome? ;)

I have had 4 instances where the game froze and forced me to reboot during screen changes or entering a license test. Chuk has had just as many! I would think that beta testing would have revealed many of these errors we are finding... What was PD doing for 5 years? Overall though I am stoked to have the new game, but I am shocked on the amount of bugs. Many of them obvious fixes that went undone.

Other issues that annoy me: Shadow quality (it's better in prologue!)
The throttle issue. Certain cars have 25% throttle showing while stopped. Does that affect offset the top speed of those cars?

Ok so having sold my prize cars from Sunday Cup & FF challenge on beginner, not realizing I couldn't win them back, I decided to do the birthday exploit, as both cars cost 3 times the 2nd hand amount I got for them. Done year 67, got 25 cars or so, most duplicates, was able to sell them & buy back the 2 prize cars. So far so good,

Before I did all this, the game froze completely once, mid race & had to soft reset, & reboot. Started doing the LightWeight K cup with the Daihatsu OFC-1 Concept'07, & using the DFGT wheel, as I started the race attempted to turn off TC, complete freeze, plus the DFGT turned all the way to the right & locked solid. I figured it couldn't be the exploit, as if my birthday was yesterday in 1967, then I had a 1 in 10 chance of getting that car.

Next race series, Japanese Classics, Tsukuba Circuit, using the Cosmo Sport L10A ' 67, with all the minimum spec upgrades. Again, tried to turn TC back on, on the 1st lap, game froze completely, DFGT turned to the right, solid lock.
Restarted the race, 3 times more, each time at some point on the first lap, game completely froze. Each time had to soft reset.

Next decided to try out the Ferrari 330 P4 '67, on practice mode on Daytona International Speedway, done 5 laps fine, decided to intentionally crash at 190mph, game completely froze.
So far, I've had the game freeze completely 6 times, all during racing, twice before I tried out the birthday exploit, & 4 times after. It's a great game, I love it, but if this keeps happening, it's gonna frustrate the hell out of me.

Something terribely annoying happened to me. Wanted to gift a friend of mine a ferrari F40, then it said upload error. Not only he never got the car but it is also gone from my garage!! Does that mean my 300000 car is gone now with no possibility to get it back?? I mean ok an f40 that sucks but it aint a 20000000 million car, think of it happens to u while sending a GT40 over??!!??
So anyone experienced the same problem? Can i get that F40 back somehow? Will PD refund me lol?

Ok here are a few things that I saw (I will lave out the points allready mentioned in this thread):

The finish line on the TopGear Test Track is actually about 1 meter (3 feet) before the painted line on the tarmac. This is a bit annoying as you try to do a "stig lap" with a standing start. You can´t really get close to the line as you accidently start the timer.

Some of the Special Events give you more prize money than they write in the menu before.

One weird thing that I have seen is that the use of turbo upgrades is weirdly restricted. I couldn´t turbocharge my 370z (which is done pretty often irl), I couldn´t turbocharge my m5 (also being done by tuning companies) and I couldn´t turbo- or supercharge my MKIV R32 (This one really pissed me off since I used to own one and was really looking forward to twin-turbo it. And it is being done on a regular basis in real life as well).

Why on earth are they so restrictive about this? Its just a small simple formula, it´s not that you have to code hundreds of lines to allow a car being turbocharged?

BUT I can use chiptunging on 30+ year old cars, or upgrades like sports-catalysts??? That does not make any sense.

Another point I have to make, which kind of fits in the bug/glitch area. I have driven my R32 pretty hard occasionally and I have been several times on the "Nordschleife" with it. So I know how it should handle. Mine was slightly tuned to about 290 hp.

The stock R32 in GT5 handles nothing like the real car. You get lots and lots of oversteer under braking, even lift-off oversteer at moderate speeds (under 100 km/h). This is nothing like the real car, I can assure you that!

Now some of you will say that this due to the brake-balance being set to 50/50 by default and not an error in the physics engine. Well maybe, but please tell me why would someone ruin the results of a good physics engine by using wrong data?? I just don´t get it!! Brake Balance is a very crucial setting for a cars handling, and a very easy one to research. Its not like finding out damper settings or springrates for a car.

Why on earth would they ruin the cars handling by using false numbers??

I just dont get it sorry.

I'm sure the headlights have been mentioned but they are all but useless right now(Grand Tour night race)

This is one that is definitely a bug. When converting the Z06 (C6) to a race car it no longer has a back end when in Cockpit View. its just like the view from bumper cam, no "rest of the car" back there.

While racing a Subaru Impreza STI 2010 on Deep Forest we had road noise, wind noise and music but absolutely no engine noise. Felt very strange, especially considering one of the guys I work with has this car and we can hear him coming from half a mile down the road :-)

Restarting again fixed the problem, engine noise as usual.
.
Ive never had this but when I get close to other cars my engine goes quiet and I can hear their engine only. Its a bit confusing because I tend to try and guage my shifts on engine noise once I get used to a car. I end up with my revs bouncing off the rev limiter cause the car near me isnt up to speed or has a different engine note.
Quoted this post because the 2 could be related?

and I couldn´t turbo- or supercharge my MKIV R32 (This one really pissed me off since I used to own one and was really looking forward to twin-turbo it. And it is being done on a regular basis in real life as well).
This one is really funny, just like it was in GT4, because there is an R32 in the game that is turbocharged (the HPA).

The Chrome Line BMW has a glitch in the gauges. There's a flickering white spot, which shouldn't be there. It's nitpicking, but at least I'm on-topic!

I really don't know where to ask this but I can't install GT5?
It just stops at 3minutes mark every time... the longest I have waited for progress was 40 minutes, but nothing happened.

Could it be it's already installed and just doesn't show or is there a solution for this?

BTW I have 92 GB free on my 160 GB HDD, so that can't be the problem.

- Shadows as everyone is well aware.

- The badges on the rear of the cars go blurry, very visible with the peogeut 207.

- Objects disappear and reappear on the track, both racing and in photomode.

- The dashboard goes too dark in the rain races.

- The blocky appearance of cars in the rain, snow and etc.

- The blocky and jaggy scratches and dirt marks on the game.

For 6 years in developing, these should have never appeared on a next gen racing game of this boasted legacy.

Makes you wonder when did they actually started testing the game? Two months ago?

Man what you doesn't understand is that ps3 hardware is very old, especially its graphics unit - nevertheless the game is the best looking one (photo realistic) regardless of the platform. Consider this!!! And stop bitching about blocky shaddows, the game looks stunning!!!

This is the glitch/bug thread - chill out. We are just pointing out issues with the game.

1 - You are not the first on here to claim a car doesn't handle like its real counterpart, I doubt you'll be the last. Without wishing to criticise your driving in either the game or real life, did you drive the GT5 car in the same manner as your own real car? Same rate of turn-in, application of throttle, brakes, and so forth? Using a wheel, all the aids off, etc. etc.? I imagine it is a lot easier to approach/exceed the car's limit in the game, without concerns of safety, cost of damage etc. I know that in the same car, myself and a friend can generate seemingly very different characteristics because of the differences in the way we drive. Don't forget also the tyre modelling may well be of tyres different to those on your actual car. Then we have tyre pressures, differences in the condition of the track surface from the game to when you drove - the list goes on and on. There are a huge number of variables.

2 - my understanding is that the brake balance numbers (and for that matter, all the tuning sliders) are relative, not absolute. So 5/5 does strictly imply the car has 50/50 brake balance, which as you say would be wrong.

I flipped over my Focus in the first rally challenge then went end over end and ended up stuck nose in the air butt in the ground on the barrier. Dunno if it was a glitch but it was strange!

Oh and did anyone mention the pants AI yet Yaz im sure they did so here it is again It sucks hard....Sort it out. This isnt a racing game Its a time trial with obsticles on the first 3 corners....Im thinking of joining Twithead just to get my message accross! Whats YAZ's twitter name? Im pretty sure he can speak english though he will pretend not to when I break his balls!

Sigh, I knew that this post would come. Firstly, I haven´t said I am the first one to point out that a car is not driving like it should be. But as this is the Bug thread I think it fair to mention a specific model that has not been mentioned before.

Secondly, I have driven my R32 for close to two years on racetracks and on roads including higher speeds on the autobahn. Would you agree that a person gets a feeling for a car after driving it in all sorts of conditions after two years?

Well, I did. And I can say that the R32´s tendency to oversteer, like it is displayed in the game, is not what the car does in real life. Period.

And yes of COURSE I have entered a corner at 120 km/h while slight braking in real life, and guess what the rear end didn´t step out. Try the same in GT5 and guess what, it DOES step out.

Happy now? geez.

Sometimes while racing online, you start the race sideways and not facing forward to do a proper launch. Happens a lot on nurburgring

All these glitches that you guys are mentioning are really frightening. Other than the tach on the M5, or the speedometer maxing out at 200KM/h on both ZB Vipers, gladly I haven´t expirienced any problem like freezing or sound going away. And I have a 4 year old 40GB PS3.

I want to add... Did everyone installed the game? Because I didn´t, and I have zero issues regarding framerate or loading times. Is it maybe that the game runs better from the bluray directly than the HDD? I´m not to techy so some advise would be apreciated.

Now, there is another issue I just found. During the rally events, I noticed that the AI cars did get really dirty regarding if they were premiums or standards. I´m running a premium Impreza Type RA, and at the end of the race, my car is shinnig clean. What happened with the dirt acumulation? I´m in level 21, and I don´t think that an unlockable feature. Whats wrong?

THANK YOU..people dont know the specs on their own ps3:nervous::scared:

Here is something interesting.

You can race a Ferrari in the MR Challenge series, but you cannot race a Lamborghini. What's up with that?

Does anyone get a strange kind of visual 'interference' when on SSR7? Basically when I look at the screen, particularly by the lights I can see lots of lines left to right and up and down all 'shimmering' - moving slightly. It's very faint but on a night circuit very noticeable. It's hard to describe. Imagine a faint outline of squares all over the screen. Now imagine they're vibrating quickly. It's actually on ALL circuits (seems to be part of the actual game graphics) and can be seen if the brightness is turned up. Usually it can't be seen but circuits like SSR7 show it up a lot. No other PS3 game I have shows this.
It's not my PS3 or TV as I've replicated this on another PS3 and TV and both set at 1080p.
Has anybody else noticed this? Or is it just me?
