Just passed my second milestone: 25,000 :D

Still running the '73 beemer in as many events as possible, but could not get that final 200 points to break the 25,000 barrier, so I settled for 137, just to get the 25,000.

Which makes me wonder, what would be the least number of cars required to max out A-Spec points?

Congrats on reaching 25000. What's your next milestone? What events are you running the '73 BMW in and are they 200 pointers?
I'm afraid I have no answer to your question! I think I'll leave that to someone else. Interesting thought though!

Happy point hunting,

Congrats MacTarmac :)

As a starting point to answer to your question I would say that you can get at least 34700 A-sepc points with these three following cars:

Dodge RAM 1500 Larame Hemi (2004) --> 17200 A-sepc points
Suzuki GSX-R/4 (2001) --> 4000 A-sepc points
Mazda 787B Race Car 'Black Car' (1991) --> 5000 A-sepc points
Missions --> 8500 A-sepc points

Hope it will be helpful in your quest!!

Well I don't know what events you counted, but those 3 cars can take more then those pts.

Dodge Ram - 19800
Sandy Cup - 1000
4WD Challenge - 1000
Sport Truck Race - 600
Clubman Cup - 1000
Race Of NA Sports - 1000
Polyphony Digital Cup - 2000
Hot Rod - 600
Stars and Strips - 600
Special Conditions hall (all except Tsukuba wet Hard and Umbria Rally Hard) - 12000
(those are all winable with it and I used it a lot in my earlier days, but for some reason I needed the Elise to win that Umbria Rally Hard races).
Also it's possible (not sure) to win the Supercar festival and some endurances with this (but will be really hard)

GSX-R/4 - 6400
Tuning Car GP - 1000
Japanese Championship (both road and race cars) - 3000
Special conditions (Umbria Rally Hard) - 400
Grand Valley 300 km - 200
Laguna Seca 200 miles - 200
Tokyo R246 300 km - 200
Nurburing 24H Endurance - 200
Suzuka 1000 km - 200
Motegi 8H Endurance - 200
Tsukuba 9H Endurance - 200
El Capitan 200 Miles - 200
New York 200 Miles - 200
Nurburgring 4H Endurance - 200

Black 787B - 7600
GT World Championship - 2000
GT All Stars - 2000
Formula GT Championship - 3000
Like the Wind - 200
Real Circuit Tours - 1600
Both Sarthe, Infineon and Fuji endurances - 800

'62 Skyline Coupe Sports - 2800
World Classics - 1000
1000 Miles! - 800
Red "R" Emblem (I think it's winable) - 1000

Plus the 8500.

So you have at least 45100, but...

Then just start getting cars like the MX-5 (from 90's I think) so you can get 200pts in the MX-5 event (and endurance if you can do it with that car) and also in the Spider and Roadster, FR (probably) and in the Japanese event for it's age.

And the Subaru 22B (for the Boxer spirit and Subaru 1-make)

You're right Han and that's why i put "as a starting point" and "at least" in my answer because I only took into account what I did personnaly. But for sure you can use these three cars for other races... Anyway good work in compiling all these data 👍

Congrats on reaching 25000. What's your next milestone? What events are you running the '73 BMW in and are they 200 pointers?
So far in different states of tuning: Clubman cup, Race of Turbo Sports, Schwarzwald Liga A, and currently trying Tuning Car GP (got Fuji and El Capitan), all for 200 points. It's not like I want to use the least amount of cars, 100,000 is a big enough challenge as it is. Guess I am just too lazy to try and find another car (and I refuse to cheat with the RAM) :D

Next milestone will probably be 31,918 points (which is where I will be after winning all Professional events ;)). Will probably take a while, because for the first time since I started this challenge I am struggeling to win races :irked:.

What in your opinion is the easier of the 200pts races/halls to do next?
So far I have got 200pts from all the SC/Beginner halls, 19 missions, Italian Festival, speedster throphy, clubman & NA sports.
Question was from the 100,000 topic, but figured it would be a good discussion... there's a ton of great advice on the hardest of the max point races, but that can be intimidating as well as inspirational :nervous:. How about some cupcakes? I haven't been through enough to provide a useful rating/comparison, so i'll just list my general opinion of what I have done:

Very Easy: Beginner events, most of Special Conditions (RAM), Pro World Compact, Pro NA/Turbo, Japan Championship

No particular trouble with the right car and/or lineup: Subaru Pleiades, Tuning Car, DTM (other than at the ring where I am simply terrible), Boxer Spirit, Clubman

Challenging: Special Conditions tahiti/grand/umbria, Schwarzwald B

Hard: World Classic (though getting better thanks to all the 1000 miles feedback on setting up the Skyline), Suzuki K Car, Suzuki Concept, BMW M Club (only tried a couple races)

Arg, seems like such a short list looking at it that way :ouch:. Haven't tried any of the really nasty ones yet...

Some general advice I can give you is
  1. Don’t leave all the endurance races till the end of your quest. It can be a daunting mission to have to spend what seems like and endless time behind the PS2 for 3200 points or 4000 points if you include 1000 miles.
  2. Family cup, pick a track you know well and take care of the 200 points to be won there. If that fails try HSR or Fuji ’90.
  3. Run as many races for 200 pointers at Nurb as you can and use the knowledge gained of the track to tackle M34. The only variable left to conquer will be to understand the SLR.
  4. Keep track of your points and lineups used and write down your settings for future reference
  5. Start wearing out certain cars from now on. Don't wait till you need them as it will hold up gameplay. Do it whilst sleeping/at school/work. Most will take >24 hours to wear down as you need to put 9000 miles on these cars. Don't refresh the oil. Refresh the chassis.
  6. If you find Special conditions hard then consider the following. Pick 1 track (race) and run all 3 events sequentially (easy, normal, hard) Then switch to reverse, same track, and run all 3 again.

happy hunting.:)

Why AMG doesn't have a Quality Post badge jet?!?!?

Are you forgetting THE RED THICK...??? 💡

I think after arranging this section of threads and all the hard work he has done to maintain them and to make this points quest easier he deserves it...
Don't you think??

Let's spread some reputation around...

I agree absolutely. It was a fantastic idea to give the 200 A-Spec thread it's own place within this site and AMG deserves ALL the credit for that and for maintaining it.
Unfortunately I can't +rep him any more as I have to spread it around first. Something I don't entirely agree with!
Come on GTP admin give AMG a Quality Post Badge.

You said everything that needed to be said, all I had to do was bold bits of it.

Well after 60 restarts on Fri, Sat & Sun I actually managed to score some points at FGT Tokyo. 154 to be precise with a MoV of 31 secs with the 787B.

Retried for 200 only to mess up the final corner on the last lap.
Tried twice more but lost it on laps 31 and 14.

Monday after 9 attempts going for 184 points I managed to take the lead on first corner and didnt relinquish it till lap 8. FGTs pit on 9. I pit on 15,30,45 with the mazda at 860bhp and 4 ballast. MoV 14.6 secs. So one of these days I should be able to manage 200 :D

AMG.

Update: Tokyo done after another 6 tries and 3 evenings for 200. Only 7 more to go :scared:

I'm trying to compile a plan of cars to wear out - I think I've got the list that require it from info scattered through the threads, but could use some help if I've missed any obvious ones or some of these can be done another way (w/ used cars, etc) - will correct as I get feedback:

Citroen 2CV, Megane 2.0, Audi A3, BMW 120i, VW Lupo, Copen, Subaru 360, Suzuki Alto, Suzuki S2, Lotus Elan, Mini One, Spitfire, Crossfire, Saleen, Hyundai Coupe, Alpine 310, Camaro IROC-Z, Benz 300SL

The TT, M Coupe, and MGF can all be gotten used... how worn out is the oil on used cars?

Thanks for the feedback so far nige & AMG!

The above checked!

Not the Polo but the Lupo!
Alpine 310
Audi TT 1.8 (install VCD !!!!!!!!)
BMW M Coupe 98
Camaro IROQ
MB 300SL (for the SL challenge, 9k mls allows for better tyres)
MGF

Nissan Silvia Qs 1800 but I could be wrong as I also have a Silvia (CSP311), both listed as 200 points, but it doesn't mention wearing them out.

I'll see if I can dig up the previous post wrt "wearing out" in the locked thread and update one of the #2 posts.

Edit: Found it, posts 1384 and 1386 in Route's locked thread.
Edit2: Updated post #2 and I'll do the other threads once the forum behaves again.

But as far as I remember you need the Polo GTi for the GTi Cup (or it's possible to win with a Lupo GTi with the engine wear as well). This one particularly interests me since I still 1 race there to do and will have to wear a new Polo (or Golf I or Lupo), the best possible to drive in N1 tires for 200pts.

The Alpine Event is possible to win without wear the engine of it (but GV is extremely hard), I did it that way.

M Coupe, MGF and TT 1.8 can be bought with a lot of mileage on them, so no need to wear those (and the M coupe can only be found used)

As for the 300SL it's not needed (I won it with a old used SL500, I will post the setup for Apricot Hill in the correct thread, since I only wrote down that one)

Those Silvias are all found used so no need to worry about them too (also I used the Silvia (CSP311) to win that event)

Thanks Han & AMG for the tips I will try some of these out for sure.

Update, just tried chassis refresh for my much loved Clio sport & love the improvement , was at last able to nail my boogie track Twin Ring Motegi for 194points & was able to turn all aids to zero .

Question ,does refresh work on new cars as well ?

Question ,does refresh work on new cars as well ?

Well, yes it works the same way, but new cars came already with it, so no need to buy it since they came with it (unless you run a bit with them, since it will only last about 500Km if you don't have a rollcage on the car).

And that's 1 of my biggest mistakes in all my A-spec point hunt, since I rarely buy that...

Han, yes youve got some good points there, I'd all forgotten about the VW GTI races.
2nd hand cars can indeed be bought, I just bought new and never bothered to find out when 2nd hand was available and when.

I'll update #2 accordingly.

I thought as much, Many thanks.

New question . Which is best car to use for max Aspec points? New , s/hand ,10km specials ? & if s/h should I look for the higher mileage one's ?
Thanks again

There aren't better cars for the points in some way. But the 62' Skyline, GRX-R/4, 2J and Ram (even if glitched) are the 4 best cars for pts.

That's a hard question, since you first need to know what you want to use and know if need them wear or not. but I will list some:

Camaro GS (for the American championship), but there's other options to it.
Midget II (for Midget II race)
Evo and Sti (1 of the 2 or 3 first generations of each, for both Evo Meeting and Star of Pleiades races), but some used Legacy can do the work in the Subaru 1-make
'98 SL500 (SL challenge), but there's other options.
'89 Skyline GTS-t (Race of R red emblem), there's other options
PAO (Micra brothers), but others may work as well
Silvia (CSP311) (Silvia Sisters), but maybe there's other options
Civic 1500 3door 25i (Civic Race), I used this and other, I think that the other was the Orange one in the historic car showroom of Honda
'78 Nissan 280Z-L 2seater (Club "Z")
Yaris/Vitz F (Yaris/Vitz Cup
Isuzu 117 Coupe (Isuzu Sports)
MX5/Miata S-Special '95 (Japanese 90s challenge)
Toyota MR2 G-Lim SC '86 (Japanese 80s challenge)
TT 1.8T Quattro (Audi TT event)
MGF (MF Festival)

Well I think that's all you need to buy used (add a MX-5/Miata for the roadster endurance if you don't want to use the 1600 NR-A, that you would need to wear in order to get 200pts with it).

One of the best tips so far has been the chassis refresh on the used cars, boy what a difference it made to my 68 Nissan Fairlady.

After you saying that of the Lupo I end up wearing one just to be sure it wouldn't give me 200pts (and in some why I think it should only give about 190 or so pts), but it turned in 199pts (and notexactly easier then the Polo), I will try to put more miles on it, but I think it's already fully wear. So for 200 the Polo is really the only option.

Thanks Han,love your tips.

Thanks anyway , I was being general in my thanks as I take in all the tips from you guys . Half of the cars I am now using with N1/N3 tyres , I have not been able to drive in the past & now able to earn big points with them . BTW How do newbies like me get to view the locked threads ?

I've moved on to WRS Div2 in the vain hope of learning better driving skills. One day I really do hope to complete the A spec quest...AMG.

Good luck in the WRS! I'm looking forward to trying that out someday, but I've got far too much work left to do in the 200 point forum to let myself get distracted already. Now that I've finally finished All American and picked up the '54 vette, I should be able to rack up 3 or 4 more series and open up the GTWC (waiting on beginner-convertible and another 2 or 3 races in supercar).

hey what's up im not new to gt4 but im new to this 200 a-spec point thing lol, so bear with me ok? cya

Welcome to the 200 A-Spec Point thread. I trust your stay here will be a fruitful one. There are lots of helpful folk here so don't be scared to ask.
