Look at engines sound in Forza 4 and you will see.I mean about the sound is good enough for the PS3 (Hardware limitation)

I lost hope in Polyphony the moment they said there would be a sound update before the game even came out. Im sick and tired of their fake promises and while ive supported them up until GT5 i cant take it anymore, the series is awful and nothing has changed. I wouldnt be surprised at all if GT7 still has crappy sounds and the pathetic "Standard" cars. It also doesnt help that most of the cars seem to share the same sound samples.

PD has a generic sound for each engine (V8's, 4 Cylinders, Straight 6's, V6's) so I though it would be a good idea to edit those generic sounds. I'll give you an example-if a V8 Supercar was put in, they could basically use the Falcon V8 sound and tamper with it slightly to create the ideal note.

Forza isn't GT
That wasn't given, unfortunately. Kaz's keywords regarding the sound update were basically ''might not make it'' and ''it might (but via an update)'' if I'm not mistaken. At this point, I think we can rule out the latter.I lost hope in Polyphony the moment they said there would be a sound update before the game even came out. You was speaking about the hardware , they are equivalent !
But if you want I can find easily a other great example of superb engine sound on PS3 !

I've always considered it more as a way to calm the community down rather than actually going through with the update down the line.To be honest at the point he said that I ruled a sound update out personally. If Kaz says something is coming for certain, you've got about a 75% chance of it actually coming. If he says "maybe, perhaps, might" or any similar wording you can usually chalk it up to never happening.
...and we got it. Unfortunately it'll be limited to a couple of questions and we may not get to sound although I'm guessing it'll be a high priority. Fingers crossed.Well, we asked for communication.
Nice initiative and I applaud it, but him being able to dodge the more important question(s) such as sounds is rather worrying. He would be mad not to answer it though....and we got it. Kazunori will be selecting the questions to answer himself; by keeping your questions simple and direct, you have a better chance of catching his attention. As questions are answered in the coming weeks, their respective threads will be marked with a green "Answered" tag.
well i see all that forza praising here... ok forza 4/5 have some serious sound issues either. ...
GT have a very good sound engineering on replays...And, with the sound update, GT will become really great.well i see all that forza praising here... ok forza 4/5 have some serious sound issues either.
in races only the player car has "full" forza v8 sound style, all other cars on track are different vacum cleaner brands like in gt(thats how they get around the hardware limitation), so replays are just simply pain for your ears.
and the distorted v8 sound syndrom of forza has some crazy outcomes: nissan micra with v8 sound doesn´t really help immersion, it is funny and entertaining, but that only lasts for some hours until you get pissed off. really annoying is the moment when you get all that nice straight 5/6 and v6/10/12 engines and all sound like different pitched v8 engines.
all the lambos sound totally off, ruf use the v8 samples with some additions and nearly all porsche use one single sample with, guess what, the mighty v8 distortion sound overlay on the racecars.
i would say technically gt and forza sounds are on par, but forza sounds are just the right stuff to get kiddies and/or half deaf people on the xbox.
and it is real fun for some time to have a bmw 2002 turbo sounding like a low displacement v8 without exhaust, but just for a short time or to the point you hear the engines at 24h nürb historical race live.
Weird, thats far from what I experience in FM 4/5, haven't heard a vacuum. Been playing GT since it's debut, I'm an expert in what vacuums sound like.
This was the case in FM4, where non-player cars used a reduced DSP chain, but is not the case in FM5.in races only the player car has "full" forza v8 sound style, all other cars on track are different vacum cleaner brands like in gt(thats how they get around the hardware limitation), so replays are just simply pain for your ears.
How much...you know what, I was driving the Ferrari 288 GTO last night and I was kind of pleased with the sound... it's probably one of the top 3 best sounding cars in Gran Turismo.
still not as good as I want it to be, but still I'd recommend you guys give it a spin! absolutely brilliant car
How much...
Cool, i will try...how much is it in the game? I dont rmember I'd say probably around 500k
Want some goose bumps:
The "vision gt" bmw got the skyline (GT3) soundsample, i think.
I think it's $1,250,000how much is it in the game? I dont rmember I'd say probably around 500k
10 times louder isn't 10 times better.Truth is, FM as fake and "funny" as it is, sounds 10 times better than GT.
