Give us better sounds - PLEASE !!

My point still stands. The sound you currently hear does not necessarily represent the sounds in GT6.

Tell me, if you made a racing game, when you show it to the public for the very first time ever, with limited cars, wouldn't you be sure to get one of your previous games biggest negatives fixed? Even if it's just for the announcement display?

Not if I wanted to showcase other new features.

Given PD's lack of comment on sound during their presentation, I doubt they had any intention of exhibiting any new sound samples.

For crying out loud, the sound was recorded from the mono TV headphone jack. Of course it's going to sound crappy. If you listen to anything through mono it's not going to sound very good.

If Kaz did not promote new sound system, sounds will be the same. It is sad that they only put effort to physics and graphics what already are on good level.

This excuse has been disproven, listen to the SOURCE material, maybe you don't have developed ears, but it's very clear we're dealing with more of the same in the sound department.

Simple test:

- Get a Toyota Gt86
- Drive it around a track while recording GPS data and audio.
- Load the GPS data into gt6
- Play the replay without sound and sync it with real life sound
- Cry and blame gt for not having better sound

the sound is actually very close to the real in gt5 or in the gt6 x-bow..
i can hear everything in the engine in gt5!

the problem is that in the gt5 sound is very '"electronic"" without noise and this is why is not close to the ""real""

Give us better sounds specially for rotary engined cars!!! The 787B and stock RX7s are the only ones that are spot on. Modifyed rotary engines in real life sound completely different, especially depending on the modification and type of intake port shape.

Just checked the gameplay video again. The same mistakes are still in there.

- The rev limiter sounds the same for every car
- Gear shifts are waaaay to quick for a manual stick shift
- Shifting down sounds the same for every car
- Still no grunt in the sounds
- Tyre squal everywhere

Also notice there's no change in tone during gear changes or any other kind of gearbox noise, the only difference is the overall pitch shifting up or down almost instantaneously, which is nothing like how real cars behave, even with flappy paddle gearboxes.

does not represent the sounds in GT6...low quality
Low quailty (mono) or ''not representative of the sounds in GT6', I still have absolutely no faith in PD's audio department whatsoever after seeing the gameplay video. It's a lost cause.

This thread should be stickied to Kaz's forehead.

This a thousend times over. I've moaned about sounds in other games, but nothing compares to how bad the sounds really are in GT5, and the sad thing is that the GT6 demo sounds the same.

The biggest complaint about GT5 is the one thing they apparently haven't addressed. I wouldn't be so annoyed if others hadn't pulled off great sounds, but you listen to Forza and the cars sound crazy good, iRacing just updated the sounds on some of their cars and they sound crazy good.

Bah, I've had enough listening 80s korg synths.

So what makes you think PD won't do the same thing for GT6 at full release at least. T_T

Always expect the worst and never be disapointed. iRacing have 30+ cars, and have upgraded the sounds on a handful. GT6 has 1200 cars and is currently still using the same old horrible sound engine.

If they were upgrading the sound engine I would have thought they would mention that, but no word of it and the same old sounds in the GT6 demo. They can't do sounds on such an individual basis like iRacing can, if the sound engine sounds like **** then all the cars will sound like ****.

to be honest, when we first started to see GT5 demos everyone was like Oh bad quality surely the final product will differ and guess what happened.

Don't get your hopes up.

If you ask me, this is one of those things that is inexcusable in GT. If Forza can do proper sounds for all the cars, why can't GT do it?

I am looking forward to an Audi Quattro Video, one car they really can't afford to get the sound wrong on such an icon.

I've just watched some videos of the X Bow and compared them to Jordan's video (albeit on my phone so take my findings with a pinch of salt). The BOV sound is wrong. The real KTM makes a 'squirrely' noise similar to a Subaru Impreza, whereas the GT6 version makes a whoosh sound.

However the actual engine samples are correct, but they are at the wrong volumes. The exhaust 'grumble' should be louder than the engine/transmission whine, but GT6 is the reverse, leading to a dull vacuum like sound.

SO everything that is wrong with GT5
