Yeah. But that's Jalopnik. The ones who say Mr. M. Bay ripped the design of Bumblebee off. Let PD focus on more than simply sounds, I think AI, loading times, online stability, physics, menus and more stuff is needed more than different sounds. Just me?

I agree that certain things are more important than sounds at the moment, but sounds really do add to the fun and the driving experience in a game, especially one as realistic as GT.

This is also the same site that managed to get early renders of the C7, which would turn out %100 Accurate so I don't see exactly what is the problem.

And the site that basically let's any fool write an article. Just sayin'

Once again though, PD are split into a workforce that all have their own jobs. Certain guys work on netcode, other guys work on AI, other guys work on sound. It should not be one or the other when it comes to improvements. It's not one or two guys doing all of the work.

Yep, it's time to do it right or to change their job...

After paying a bit of attention to a few of the cars in GT5 I think if they just reduce the volume on the Trans whine and increase the volume of the exhaust that would go a long way toward making people happier with the sound. Some of the cars actually sound pretty good.

One issue I have when racing is over reving due to the fact I need to keep the volume down to stand the whine and am often not able to hear the engine well enough to get the correct shift points.

But compared to the aforementioned Turn 10, PD is a tiny company. It's harder than you think with such a small workforce when they have many different makes from many different companies and you have a small group on sound. And seeing as not all cars featured in GT5 exist in Japan a lot (Schimwaggen, VW Sambabus, Lotus Esprit etc.) so they have to go to many countries, and I doubt they'll have 1200 cars done like T10 in 3 years...

Yep, pretty much just you. GT5 already has 90% of what it needs, and even too much of some things. But it might as well not have any sound at all, it's that bad. This is Gran Turismo 2 anymore, this isn't the PS1, but it is completely inexcusable.

So you've heard no complaints about AI? Online stability? Car modelling? Pixelation when cars are drifting? Tuning? Colour system? Customisation?

I have. Quite a lot. And I think I'd have those instead of sounds and day...

Not to mention the missing leaderboard system that was supposed to be there which to me and many of my friends is the #1 issue with GT5.

I have no issues with the graphics
Have not had any issues with online stability but haven't played online much in quite a while, most of my friends left the game because there were no leaderboards.

I would rank tuning pretty high as well, would be nice to have more and more detailed options and a way to save them to a file of our choosing.

More customization is also high on the list and I would have to say as much as I would like to see better sound the things listed above are more important.

The other thing that is up there pretty high is proper tire wear. I was really disappointed to find that I could pretty much run the same number of laps on RS tires as I could on RH tires where in GT4 there was quite a difference in the life of the 2.

Never mind that the sound clips almost never match what's going on on-screen (cockpit being the exception, unsurprisingly) I don't think Kreissieg's exhausts should in any way be considered representative of a realistic stock sound, or desireable in the general sense (that last part being entirely subjective, obv.)

That's one problem I have with people's complaints about the Contach in GT5 is for whatever reason, they keep thinking this is what a Stock Contach is supposed to sound like on when its not at all what the real one sounds like:

Well that's your opinion, the kind of opinion a ''gamer'' would have, many of us here are really passionate about cars and the sounds in GT are an insult at best. You might not see this simply because you don't care for cars enough or you don't know enough about them.

I think you missed the point. Sounds are a problem, but they are DEFINITELY not the only problem GT5 had.

Some even go so far as to say that those aftermarket exhausts make the Countach sound better than stock. Madness!!!

Adrian Newey crashes his Lamborghini Super Trofeo - 2013 Silverstone

I'm quite surprised that the crash sound is pretty accurate in GT5.. at least it was only too bassy in GT5..

I expect the bassiness is a replacement for the, um, tactile feedback. But car impacts are surprisingly flat sounding - no crunch or sparkle like you get from Hollywood. That's probably because of the speed of deformation typically involved in reality, which is difficult to reproduce "manually".

Also, classic Newey... :P

Wow, that's embarrassing...lol. Most shunts I've seen from the POV camera actually sound much like GT5. A loud thud and then nothing.

THIS is my point. Okay? I do care about cars, but I'd rather a well performing game with 'dull' sounds than a pile of turd with great sounds.

You mean the dubbed over sounds?

I'll reserve my judgement until there's direct-feed gameplay footage.

Sure, it was a trailer but it's still better than anything we've ever had so far. At the very least, it proves that they really are aware of how a car ought to sound like.

No it doesn't really, since they've done it before.
