They are capable, if not, others in Sony are (I'm pretty sure Daft Punk are with Sony :D I kid, but imagine) but that's probably still classes as outsourcing :)

The DeltaWing's sound in the video was not the official sound that will be included in the game. It's just a placeholder as mentioned before.

Deltawing is pretty much the same thing we heard at E3 so its hardly a surprise.

Nothing to see here, all of the demos so far are just placeholders, 3 different builds and still the same but nothing to worry about, right? They're just placeholders right? Even though we are 3 months away from a possible release date and like a month or less away from GT6 going gold.

My gosh, stop with that sad-ass excuse already.

How is placeholders an excuse? It is genuinely placeholders as not even PD know what sounds for GT6 will be like. And 3 months? Still quite a bit of time really. Plus updates do exist.

Sorry to burst your bubble there :)

I wish I could share your optimism.

Read that 3 times or more...yup...you should be worried about it.

The thing is if PD wants to deliver something they should make it now and show it to the masses.
All racing games...the first thing they do is show cars and their sounds in a track...PD does that in their trailers but they put real engine sounds in the trailers and at the time of the "truth" when you are actually playing it in demos, you don´t get that.

So to me that is like fake advertising when you are showing two different things (Trailers and game-plays) at the same time...and then they never clarify in the matter...they say things like "we are working in it but we don´t know if it will come to GT6"...To me they are like saying..."oh you don´t like the sounds...well we won´t say if it will come to the same sounds or if it will come with new ones"...What they should know is that for me and some more that is a selling point.

A friend of mine after watching the new trailer of the BMW Z4 GT3 told me "Wow if those are the engine sounds I´ll be getting a PS3 again for GT6"...PD should know this.

Also we are not kids...we played the first game and the rest...we are fans of the series as much as the ones who don´t care about the sounds (most of the time they lie...)...the thing is that this needs to change and for the better.

I agree, but what else can we do other than leave them to it? Now they've said they're working on it- we should sit back and wait the long, agonising wait for the results.

While I love the idea that a game can be improved post launch, I don't like the idea that they can ship it in whatever state they feel like. I don't find that satisfactory in the least bit.

OK let me say how I see it. PD haven't done an actual gameplay of GT5 or GT6 as far as I know. Even if they have I doubt they used fake sounds. This is the very first time I see a gameplay with these fake sounds. So, what I'm thinking is that PD is almost done with the new sounds and is not afraid of showing a gameplay like that and eventually releasing the game with the old sounds. That would be just a huge lie.

And seriously, how many of you guys think that something so difficult like is going to be fixed through an update? That's just a BS.

GT5, listen to the idle up sound before it goes racing.

Last is test of real world cars, you can hear the idle up the low burble cam noise is far more prominent than the idle in game. Also listen to the car on passes and you'll see a difference as well.
I guess I should have been more clear that I meant "game play," not "re-play." I notice you didn't include a video of the HSV, though it's not going to sound identical either. But it does sound pretty good, better than some PC sims that I have which are highly praised.

I do think I'll have to get out of the way of this though and let someone like Griffith500 address this subject, who has serious experience in this field. I notice hardly anyone goes after him for believing in what PD is trying to accomplish.

And I will have to say that I've been having some interesting discussions in PM about this place, about how certain members have made it a personal crusade to shoot down enthusiastic posts, as members want to discuss all the encouraging things that are coming out about GT6. But no, a small group can't have Gran Turismo spoken of in a positive light, or at least not brighter than any other racer on the market. Because of course Gran Turismo isn't very good, Polyphony Digital isn't a particularly capable developer, and Kazunori is a muddle headed dreamer who can't even tie his shoes right because his eyes are lost in a fog of utopian memories of childhood dinkmobiles in Japan. It's really strange that in a rambunctious place like NeoGaf, Gran Turismo seems to have a slightly more even playing field than a site established specifically for fans of the series.

This world really is out of whack in so many ways. Feel free to twist this post into me saying that GT5 is perfection in a racing game. Invariably, someone will. ;)

As you so eloquently stated above, GTPlanet is indeed host to a culture of negativity.

Sadly, it often drowns out the brilliant ideas that members have for the future of Gran Turismo. I believe this mindset has caused many of the 10.5 million strong GT players to remain on the outside of this planet looking in.

But hey, I understand how a forum works (although I do forget at times) so coupled with the aforementioned, I refuse to make this my only destination when it indeed should be.

i can't wait to say i told you so when these "placeholders" are still in the final release  we've seen this plenty of times before from PD, remember pre-GT5?

As long as the engine sounds sound at least good at release. Remember, I said at least, not great or best.

I may even resort to rub it in faces if those "placeholders" did change. :sly:

I'm going to be honest, ive been playing Gran Turismo 2 alot lately, i'm 60% done and the sounds havent changed much if at all. If they gave us the tools i could mix my own sounds and be done with it. I'm starting to think GT engine can't handle the sound.

I don't think that would be necessary. There's already one guy constantly rubbing PC sims in everyone's face just because of the sounds and its not exactly the most mature thing to do (and it doesn't make you any better then the bashers). If the sounds turn out indeed improved and far better then anyone expected, just enjoy it instead of wasting your time just to go run it in people's face.

If your talking about me rubbing pc sounds in everyone's face the game is 5 dollars on steam get it now. It was made when GT4 came out. And i bet even the lowest end pc can run it today, it might look like **** but it will run good.

Gran Turismo needs a whole new engine, i just don't think it can handle sound very well.

I think kaz and them boy's are trying there best for years but they just can't get authentic sounds out of this outdated engine it's obvious.

Yeah, you're right Racecar. If I have done that, I wouldn't like getting my face getting rubbed too, so I'll take your advice and enjoy the improved sounds if it happens. :)👍

Not sure who that person is, but I hope he learns this too.
