That sounds like an asmatic VQ35 or something. It doesn't even sound remotely like a V8, let alone an AMG 6.2...

The reason I've been pessimistic about improvements in the sound departement is demonstrated here.
The people who picked fart can samples for big american V8's, V10 samples for the Aventador/Murcielago,
kitchen appliances for the Enzo and so on and so on (I could name a few hundred examples), still have a job.

I'm very pessimistic about sound improvements as well my friend. Honestly, how many car guys and gals in here could pretty much identify which car was passing down the street just by its engine noise without even looking at it by the time they were like 7 or 8 years old maybe younger? I was one of them and I'm sure there are plenty more audiophiles on this forum that would never think of their favorite sports cars as a child without remembering the sound that went along with them. I remember trying to recreate engine sounds on a musical keyboard when I was like 9 and some of them sounded better than what I hear in GT. No excuses anymore from them. The incompetence has reached a point of being insulting, but thank goodness this game is so friggin solid in all other areas and still worth sticking with it.

After 6 games we have vipers that sound like 4's still. I'm not hoping for anymore from PD regarding sound. The only way I'll have hope is if they announce a restructure of their studio and staff and revamp everything about their sound department and build from ground up instead of doing patches, but Kaz mentions updates becoming a huge part of their development, so who knows. I'll focus my energy on just enjoying the graphics and physics. I won't get my hopes up about sound anymore and expect the worse and even underestimate their abilities for good sounds so that any marginal improvement seems like a milestone when it'll probably just be a footstep.

By the way, Vegard. That AMG sounded fairly decent in GT5 until it was equipped with aftermarket exhausts, so maybe that's the case with that clip. I hope that is the case.

The Batwing actually sounds good, well done PD, shame I will never drive it. How about fix the sounds on some cars I actually want to drive.

I have played GT6 for first time. To me sounds are absolutely horrible even compared to GT5 :( There is a new high pitch metallic whine when you press gas pedal on every car. It goes away when you lift it although revs are same. It almost makes me not want to play it. Just total lack of any bass. I have tried couple of different sound settings but nothing seems to help. I want this to be some bad mistake or something but this is my verdict for now.

ps: I have only played with Honda Fit and C7 corvette.

no hope left for us :nervous:

One thing I hope they fixed is the sound of the GT by Citroen Road Car. I am still confused about the GT5 sample of the sound of the car (basically from a Lamborghini with a racing exhaust)

What really is confusing about that car's sound is that the car was built for GT right?

This is how the car should sound...

Then

Are we asking for too much?

Could applying real engine sounds to game be really that difficult?

Since we are the ones who pay for the game...of course not.

Having in mind the hardware of the PS3 and all maybe...but if other games did a better job at least PD should try...for us...just for us.

(my game is pre-ordered and waiting for download by tomorrow at PSN- Anniversary Edition)

The C7 Corvette actually sounds good in GT5, at least the disguised prototype I thrashed around yesterday

man this still is still how I want it to sound - with exhaust upgrade :/
And those throttle blips - not that short fart that GT does

Seems like Comfort tyres sound different from Sports, which sound different from Slicks

Comfort hards

Is it me, or slicks sound different from the sports tyres in GT6

Higher in pitch

real life Sports - GT6 gets the initial onset right, but the sustained part is pitched too high, with the sports tyres

Go play that then...Goodbye.
Make sure the door doesn't hit you up-side the head on the way out.
Really? I think he has a great point. Forza sounds are much better than anything we have. GT can't even get the correct sounds in the first place. Fan boys really need to stay out of these threads, as they have nothing really to contribute.

Not that I expected anything, but obviously no improvements in large day one patch.

It'll come later, much later if at all, if there is a new sound engine

But Jordan said the AMG Vision GT car is the best sounding car in GT6 :)
AMG gave them good source material, so maybe it's down the PD sound department then...

I think the little "fart" is accurate for the exhaust. What makes throttle blips sound so good, in my opinion, is the intake. :dopey:
