6" longer is massive?
In the context of a discussion about how full size trucks have gotten more unwieldy to drive in the past couple of generations, yes. 6 inches grafted on to the front of the truck ahead of the dashboard would indeed be considered a massive increase, just like a pointless hood bulge extending an inch past the bottom of the windshield would be.

Ford redesigned its cab after it failed the IIHS crash test in 2000,the truck folded up like a beer can in the offset test.I think you will find the majority of that massive increase in length went into the A-pillar and increased windshield rake.
Apology accepted.

Here ya go,nice and low to the ground
Thanks for making it clear your true reason for posting in this thread. But don't worry. You may have struck out this time, but one day I'm sure you'll come on top. Third time's the charm?

Though the rest of the post seems to be a personal squabble between you two, the first bit I liked and makes a good point and is why I think the user who drove with difficulty prior had trouble.

Are those measurements from the roof to the ground or from the roof the bottom of the body/chassis/whatever? Feels like a dumb question, but I don't know. Also, what exactly is "load height"? Is that at the bed rails or the bed floor?

'15 Chevy Tahoe Z71

The old Z71 looked tough and rugged, it looked a little nicer the regular Tahoe. This new loss that tough look and it looks even uglier than the regular Tahoe.

It's rear somewhat looks like a 2007-14 Suburban. It's more on the luxury side now than being on the rugged side now..

Ugh. These trucks are just catastrophically ugly. They're even worse in person than in photos, too. They look like they were designed by someone who thinks that vinyl is luxurious.

Although the option package is popular, I'm not entirely sure what's going on here with this version. The outgoing Z71 looked reasonably tough, and seemed to be so. This one looks like a mildly worked over LT. I mean, I'm sure I'll see a bunch more of these around than the regular models, but... They certainly blend in. Perhaps its the lack of cladding?

Either way, my Grandfather picked up a '15 Tahoe LT a few weeks back and paid an absurd amount of money for it... But holy cow, what a nice truck. I thought the GMT900s he and my father had/have were great, but this new one goes to a new level. Good quality materials inside, ridiculously quiet and comfortable, way too many things to customize in the gauge cluster and on the dash. He even went with the White Diamond Tricoat, which looks surprisingly good not on a Cadillac.

I think this generation will hold a polarizing opinion through it's lifetime. After the new-shock, mainly from them making the SUVs different from the trucks, I think the Tahoe looks good, better than the last one at least, while the Yukon goes with the Sierra, the other way. Haven't gotten a good look at the Escalade yet, so don't know there.

Eeeeew.

Looks like they're copying Ford again, making as big of a grill as they possibly can, although I don't see why. It kinda looks like 🤬 anyways.

Honestly kinda mixed. They took a lot of the stupid out of the front, but they replaced it with something that isn't particularly attractive either. Plus that one is kind of misleading because I have a hard time believing they are dropping the option to have the front slathered in chrome, at which point they might as well have not bothered with the new tooling. Really what it needs to "fit" is wider headlights and a narrower grill; but with how tall they made it it would look perhaps even more off than it does now.

Meh, not liking it. I liked the front end on the '14/'15 trucks better, especially now that I've seen a bunch of them on the road.

The other big change is wider availability of the 8 speed trans.

I guess they figured out that what makes the midnight edition look so good would work in well in more colors than black...

Still, its an update. And, they're adding the 8-speed automatic. Both steps in the right direction to keep pace with the F-150.

Too bad Ford did that 35 years ago, several times

I much prefer the GMC version. But I wouldn't mind seeing a throwback to the square bodies.

The refresh looks like it all squinty, but I think I like it better than the current front fascia.

What I do find odd though is that for the Z71, a package with offroading in mind, the front air dam sits really low. First good dip and there's going to be some damage.

I'll say this as well, whereas with the 2015 Sierra looking better than the Silverado, it seems that it is reversed for 2016. I don't care for that notch at the top of the Sierra's grille.

Well, I'm awfully glad my dad got a 2015 Silverado instead of waiting for 2016. That looks... I... I can't really describe it.

Here's my dad's, it's a really really nice truck for only being an LT. The back seats have so much leg room, it's like a luxury car.

The new Chevys are monstrous.

I like how 1500-class trucks have actually become 2500 trucks despite the fact that very few people who buy them actually need a 2500lbs payload capacity. The bigger-for-the-sake-of-bigger competition between the big 3 is so stupid.

My dad had a 2013 3500 HD before this. It really was huge. The 8-foot bed didn't help make it any shorter either.

Why on earth does something with leaf springs need shocks that cost $900 a piece? I mean, it's fantastic because that means in ten years they will be just as worthless used as every other non-Corvette vehicle that GM has put them in, but I still question the idea.
