They're not going to withhold standard cockpits as some kind of surprise for later if they've already revealed premium cockpits, that would make no sense.

Again, we've already been told a lot at E3. We've gotten new cars, tracks, and most importantly, a release date. If you look at the E3 trailer, one thing is cartain, this will be an epic game. Besisdes, there are more shows coming up. Cockpit, or no cockpit, I'm still getting this game.

Well, cockpit view is the only reason I would buy it (also the reason I bought GT5P). The cockpit view made this game the ultimate car library but without them ... .

Still hoping this is a misunderstanding but ... .

Hugely disappointing but I was thinking it in my head the whole time, Just didn't want to believe it. Well at least my beloved RX7 and RX8 are premium, woohoo!

On another note, Kaz discreetly confirmed weather

I was playing gt5p today, and tried to figure out a premium car from a standard... I personally think that a premium car having a detailed interior "to the stitching" is like for example the ferrari interiors on prologue are very highly detailed and you can tell by the accuracy that it took a long time, where as if you go drive a cappucino you will find that although it has a cockpit view with full interior, the quality of the interior differs vastly... the textures arent as nice as the higher (probably more premium cars)

so this is what i think... 200 cars will be premium and have incredible detail on the interiors, and the rest will have slightly lower quality detail, but still have a visible interior.

To conclude:

2008 GT5P - about 70 premium cars
2010 March 31 - (striving to) about 170 premium cars
2010 November 2 - 200 premium cars

Makes sense...I mean no way they have 70 cars with cockpit at 2008, then 850+ at 2010.

So you are saying that a frickin stock Citroen C4 and Suzuki Swift deserve to be premium but not a 1970 Challenger and that we already know almost half the cars that will be premium meaning were only to find about 100 more that are premium?

So in total youre saying that we will only get about 130 NEW cars with cockpits?

Dosnt sit right. Gurgle

what I dont understand.. is will we be able to see the inside of these cars from the ouside? I mean like they cant just tint the windows can they :s

That was the case in GT4, but all convertibles had full cockpit(not functioning) and could only be seen in replays and chasecam.

You must have missed the Honda interview.......

Exactly. And for now we saw about 110-120 cars in total - and ALL of them seems to be premiums...
(70 in GT5P + 40 in last E3)

Guys you've got to stop thinking of premium as luxury or special cars, it is a description of purely the level of detailed they've been modeled with;

premium = high quality GT model
standard = lower quality GT model

therefore there is no reason why a 2CV could not be premium model

This is what he replied to (from me):

"Will "standard" cars have cockpit views (wheel, dash, driver etc)? Or is this only for premium cars? Thank you.:

Then he mentioned the black GTPSP interiors to which I said (and very confused):

"Sure. Thats fine by me. A full interior would be better but black is better than nothing."

Then I asked, to no reply:

"Just for all the folks at home (GT forums) "standard cars" will not have GT5p style interiors? Yes or no?"

and

"Could full GT5p "premium" interiors be added as DLC?"

So there you have it. While we did not get a clear answer its better than no communication at all.

That's a pretty bad reason, IMO, to buy a racing game.

are there any standard cars available at the e3 demo? couldnt someone just try drive one to see what the interiors like

Every car, even the new camaro and challenger for some reason, were PREMIUM.

Remember GTHD?Those a standards. We know that at first GTHD has a "premium mode" - which is...GT5P like."Standard" mode is upscaled GT4 with 16 cars at 1080p60.
At E3 2007 - when PD showing GT5P they said that they build all the cars from parts (=those are premiums).Puzzle solved.Game Over.Sorry.

I for one can't still imagine that cars like the Suzuki Cappuchino or Daihatsu OFC are "premium" ones with interior view ...just see it that way:

If only premium cars will have interior view, all cars featured in Prologue must have it - BUT - premium would also (as far as I know) mean full visual damage model ...and I can't imagine that every manufacturer in Prologue is allowing that.

Only time will tell, but I won't believe it until the question "Will all 1000 cars feature cockpitview?" is answered with a clear "No."

This is what I was trying to say, that tiny Suzuki car can no way be a premium car as its not a supercar, neither is it a proper sports car, which is what 'premium' was described to as being months ago. You guys just need to calm down

Indeed, we have to look at the bright side! 👍 Like you said, we now have a release date and a confirmed feature list, among others.

Still...:(

Where was this? I've never heard what PREMIUM stood for from KAZ before. Otherwise why is an evox or camaro premium?

I asked this one myself too ...imagine Photo Mode with a "standard" car, you walk around in first person view and when looking inside the car there is only that black frame interior - that would be BS.

Ok!They need just to show us a "standard" car...

I think that this would even be easier than putting our hopes in some amateur journalists ...

Ok, i'm going to opt for the denial route. Kaz is just messing with our minds. When you put the game in your PS3, everything will be just as it should be... If i'm wrong, I don't have to shell out money for a wheel. Wheel + Chase cam = Fail, may aswell just use a pad.

A bombshell was dropped at E3, but not of the sort we expected.

That can't happen cause all the cars in the demo are premium. Were gonna have to wait til August to get more details...

Idk what to think. He seemed like he was in a good/joking mood im not going to get my hopes up or down. This interview basically proves nothing. He didn't straight up say "Standard car will have black cockpits while Premium has fully detailed cockpits" I am just going to wait until we see a standard car in game or until he gives a clear answer.

how can a cappucino and that dihatsu in gt5p be premium? standard must simply mean the interior is not as detailed for example in gt5p if you compare a r8 interior with a cappucino you can tell the level of detail is different, there is far greater texture in the r8 (surley premium)

i think standard = interior view (but less detailed and less textured)

:ouch: For all of us with a cockpit ready... if not all the cars have cockpit view, then we have been shelling out money to waste :( :grumpy:

I am going to use the Pad as i still do.... no longer looking forward to drive with my cockpit setup.
