Ditto. I still don't see why my explanation doesn't work:

Any Vette, other than the C6 Z06 and the C6 ZR1, should have ONE cock-pit view.

Any Lamborghini, other than the new models (LP 640, 560-40), should have the same cock-pit view.

Any Ferrari, other than the new models (Enzo, 458 and the F40 from Prologue), should have the same interior view.

They should just dump the C6 Z06 cockpit into the standard vette cockpits that way it would be less work, and then say its generic.

I have to admit. I was pretty bummed to see that Corvette C5R in the standard car vid.

I was really looking forward to getting into that one. :( :(

I'd rather at least a generic cockpit for those 800 cars. You know, just a bland looking cockpit that is the exact same for all of them but just modified slightly to correctly fit the width of each car. Or maybe a few different possible cockpits for different eras (older looking ones for old cars, newer ones for modern cars, very basic racing cockpits for racing cars).

This, too, could work.

Still hard to believe 80% of the cars will not offer a cock-pit view to the gamer. Doesn't seem right. Or fair, to be honest.

I have to believe something is being done or has been done to fix this. Or that translations and semantics are in the way of the truth.

I suppose one cool thing is that we know PD have overcome the issue of production car damage, all the GT5p cars are premiums,so when the standards have been updated over time I guess every car will have full damage :)

semi off topic side bet thing.
GT6 in two years,with 400 premiums done,GT7 3 years into PS4 with 800 premiums,no standard cars.GT8 6 years into PS4 all cars premium.

My response to this standard car fiasco is "meh".

I admit it is disappointing but when I look at all the new things that were added I get over it quickly. I mean the cars could look a H:censored:L of a lot worst in my opinion :)

Either way I'll be playing GT5 on 11/2/2010

GT5 is supposed to raise the bar. Not take the bar from GT4 that was already low and bring it to GT5. Now what does GT have over Forza? Surely they don't have 500 high quality cars

Stop this non-sense guys. Now take a look at this picture:

The pics are nice. But now I CANNOT help but to question KY's ambitions.

PHOTO MODE travel? I can walk around the city and take nice pics of the cars?

Yet I cannot use cock-pit view in a Lambo Countach in the "REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR".

Wow, I cannot believe I said that and I'm a devout optimist. But I still love GT. I cannot let that go. Ever.

Don't worry, after GT5 is released P.D will release updates for the standard models having cockpit interior views. So we still have hope on our side. :)

Denial and comments like this is what setup this huge pitfall...

Throughout GT5 development everytime something comes up it's always an excuse: "not official" 'next game show" "it's only a demo" "it's not even out yet" "DLC will fix it".

I am all for optimism but there is a definite need for some realism around here...

I do have to question why it is that in the real driving simulator, where everyone claims that realism and advanced physics is what makes GT the untouchable racing experience, any bad news can be forgotten if you just post some eye candy...

Is that the equivalent of a dangling something sparkly in front of us?

It seems like the forum is full of proclaimed hardcore racers who are ricers are heart... seems like the car might shoot oil out of the block but as long as it's got a cherry coat finish on it... SWEEET....

Haha I know modelling all of 800 standard model cars with cockpit interior detail would take 10 years.

I do not care, sure its dissapointing that 800 cars wont have cockpit view, but I rather have Physics over cockpit view.. ALL cars will have real life physics, something no other game comes close, Sure iRacing physics maybe be better, but it does not have 1000+ cars, no tuning, no soul. Nothing comes close to GT in terms of depth.

Just give me good HOOD view, and with my Fanatec wheel, or logitech wheels for most guys, we will all feel at home.

Haha I know modelling all of 800 standard model cars with cockpit interior detail would take 10 years.

So why not just give us something like 400 fully done new cars, forget the ports and put more effort into other features and fuctionality. It all depends how long it took to port the 800 cars and whether other developments in the game suffered because of that.

Robin.

Its not all about which game has the most cars!

Robin.

Maybe we will be getting at least 10+ updated standard cars for DLC/UPDATE.

I do use cockpit view. It is important to me to have one. That said I don't need an exact replica of every individual car. Just an interior. If you are racing on a track and you find yourself looking at the interior........I don't want to be in the same race as you.....
Edit: Real car sounds are a MUST!!!!

ALL cars will have real life physics

This is the kind of build up that I am talking about... we don't know that for sure, we haven't tried the final physics engine, the last one was good but not perfect and realistically it won't be perfect real life physics when it does release.

Those who wonder why eveyrone groans so loudly when stuff like the standard cars comes down the pipes have to remember we haven't had much real info to go on, most of the hopes are built on unproven statements like this one...

Yes we do not know, but for sure ALL cars will be simulated to the best of PD's ability, so Premium or not both will use same physics engine.

Is that from the e3 trailers? if So it confirms 16 cars right? I hope so! :nervous:

Don't all GT PSP cars use the same generic cock-pit view?

If GT PSP cars are transferable, will the generic cock-pit move to GT5? Or will it automatically be lost?

You guys wanna know why everyone is mad about the Premium/Standard issue? It's because everything they've shown in videos and screenshots has been misleading! They're only showing the "good" 20% of the game, while the other 80% is last gen technology? Really? That's like if, when Half Life 2 came out, you'd get to the third level and the rest of the game was in Half Life 1's graphics engine. That's not right, nobody would play that. Same goes for Gran Turismo.
