Wow P.D also modelled the Colosseum. Amazing!!!

I am not sure why eye candy like this gets so much attention? Yes it's big and pretty, but it's not really impresive... it's a fairly simple model actually and most of it's look depends on textures... heavily repeated textures i might add... look at the arches, the same two pillar textures are repeated over and over.

Remember when PGR3 came out? The awesome looking buildlings in that? Those are just photos turned into textres dropped onto mostly simple polygons...

I mean google earth and live maps have been doing this for years...

I am sorry but the cars and detail there I appreciate, big buildings that are mostly simple ploys with textures wrapped on them... I don't get it...

Yes we do not know, but for sure ALL cars will be simulated to the best of PD's ability, so Premium or not both will use same physics engine.

Is that from the e3 trailers? if So it confirms 16 cars right? I hope so! :nervous:

There were also 13 cars in the latest trailers on their website, fear not.

Don't all GT PSP cars use the same generic cock-pit view?

If GT PSP cars are transferable, will the generic cock-pit move to GT5? Or will it automatically be lost?

Its not generic for the psp game, each one is unique to the car but its is blacked out, no detail.

This was a hilarious day, pseudo GT4 models, 2d trees, max of 16 car when there should be 30+ standard cars on the track alone, vacuum cleaner sounds, no skid marks.

All those things wouldn't have mattered if their car models have kept up, but no that did not happen. Now the real pain begins, I fear for GT now. :nervous:

I am sorry too keep saying this, but all this is just to much to bare at this point. :(

5 years...

GT5 still has tons of content that will make you :drool::drool::drool:.

I dunno, have watched the standard cars video about 10 times and to be honest the cars still look better than anything else out there, only bettered by the premium ones.

Ever played NFS: Shift?

All cars treated equally in this game too. Imagine that!

They are.

Some people are just too blinded by childish rage that they don't look at any of the good, and want to pick apart anything they see.

^ Agreed, likely to be Prologue level of detail.

So really quick, can someone confirm if there is a hood cam? I should know this myself but my brain is dead from reading dozens of articles and emo posts on a videogame forum.

Yeah I own it, still don't think they look as good to be honest. True they do have interiors. Also there are what 65 odd cars in Shift?

I'd rather have 65 cars up to the standard that was promised for the 6 years of development, instead of waiting all that time then in the final months before release they're like "Oh sorry, only 5 of the cars will look like that. The rest of the models were taken from Need for Speed High Stakes on PS1."

but to be hones and just having play gt4 for taking the outrage out of me i just make realised of something:

from Gran turismo 1 to Gran turismo 4 the same cars has been used through the years ,but when i found the evo III,evo III gsr mazda rx8,then rx8 proto on the gtpsp, and those are in a model perspective the same basic the same car,so i been thinking that is why they shouldn't make the crappy interiors from these cars, but sadly the list from the cars that we re following shows, there is no Aston martins,or jaguars, the Ferraris supercars interiors make sense and the lack of interiors on a basic car like a Honda life makes also sense ,but the shame is that they are just 200 that have interiors,i am sure that they will get to 300 at the time on the release, but some iconic cars that you will be looking forward like the ae86 in my case will not have interior witch is a shame, but the whole idea of this is to drive them,if the standard cars have the new game physics it does makes sense, still we could wait for updates like the ones made for gt prologue and then spect III.

but certainly I will be buying this game,in fact I just waiting to be offered in my country.

Hood cam is confirmed and available in the demo.

...

There are over three times the number of cars as SHIFT has, in much, much better detail as well.

Obviously we are all a little disappointed but I really don't think its as big a deal as some are making it to be. I can't bloody wait for the game :)

I'd better hope so...Shift didn't take 6 years to develop either. And while I'm on it, even cars in NFS4 on PS1 had interiors with drivers inside. There is simply no excuse to not have fully rendered cars on PS3. Even games like Live For Speed and netkar pro, developed by a couple of guys in their basements, include full interiors, cockpit views, AND 1:1 hand motion! Yet 6 years on such a highly funded game can't do that?

To sum things up, this is why I'm mad. For the last however many years, they've shown us all these videos and demos and screenshots of amazing models with incredible detail. Then 5 months before release, they're like "Oh, only 20% of the game will look like that. The other 80% is using PS2 technology." That's ridiculous; anybody who thinks otherwise has some very powerful rose colored glasses.

Also the GT4 cars were made to a much higher standard than what the PS2 could achieve with the very idea they would be moved on. They aren't really updated, moreso they are what they always were intended to be like.

I see it this way, for PS3 as we all know the original plan was to make GTHD. Along the line this was changed to GT5 and a decision had to be made. How do we keep enough content whilst still wowing everyone, thus the GTHD cars became standard and the new ones became premium.

This just confirms My theory of 800 Cars not being Fully Customizable, How in Hell are you going to change only a part of a model that is one complete thing....

I thought Kaz Got over that Classic and Premium Crap when he scraped GTHD.

Oh Well.

Agreed it looks a hell of alot better in motion and that what counts.

They should have been clear about it from the get-go instead of ONLY showing us premium cars for 4-5 years then right before release, saying that they're only 1/5th of the game and that the rest is last generation stuff. I would almost agree with you if they allowed about 30 opponents at once with the crap GT4 models, but the field will still be limited to 16 just like with a field full of premium models. I've been such a die hard GT fan since the first one, but this really just has me rattled. They really destroyed the game. A Suzuki Cappucino has a 500k polygon model with full interior while a 71 Super Bee has an 8 year old, 8k polygon model with Playstation 1 generation windows/silhouette interior? Give me a break.

Look at those screenshots on the last page. They are NOTHING compared to what they've been showing us for the past several years, and NOTHING compared to what current generation racing games are putting out. No other game has stupid stipulations like this. Even the new Driver: San Francisco has 100 licensed cars WITH interiors. Test Drive Unlimited had no problem making great car models with interiors. They didn't use Test Drive 5 models anywhere, or blacked out cheap-looking windows. Im in shock that here I am looking at a PS3 racing game where the cars have BLACKED OUT WINDOWS and black silhouette interiors!!! That crap was gone AGES ago in racing games.

That's great, GT5 has 200, even more realistically modeled than anything you've ever seen before.

Last I checked, it wasn't in development for 6 years either. Sorry guys, no racing game made within the last 5 years should have anything even remotely similar to PS2 graphics...i mean...GT5's standard models. Don't get me wrong, the Premium models really are THE best car models I have ever seen, but they're only a very small part of the game (meaning we'll have to use the crap models most of the time....yay, I waited 6 years to play GT4 all over again). There is simply no excuse for this.
