Good news👍

http://uk.playstation.com/ps3/news/articles/detail/item285382/Talking-games-with-Shuhei-Yoshida/

"What can we look forward to when Gran Turismo 5 releases on PlayStation 3?
Gran Turismo 5 will offer gamers an experience more rich, more in-depth and more exciting than they might expect - even from a series as closely identified with innovation and invention as Gran Turismo. Not only will Gran Turismo 5 deliver an even more comprehensive set of cars and courses than gamers saw with previous iterations, it will also feature new game-enhacing graphical effects such as damage, night racing and weather.

These innovations are twinned with the option to join millions of like-minded individuals globally within the Gran Turismo community and to find a driving experience to suit, whether that is taking on the Top Gear test track, chucking cars around stunt arenas, go-karting, creating and sharing your own track or intense head-to-head races. Who, where and what to drive is completely down to the individual."

yes!!! weather is almost confirm :) just almost :sly:

Dude, just drop the piss and moan act, okay? If you don't like the 800 cars, just don't mess with them and pretend your playing GT3 HD or something.

I'm talking about how cool it would be to have more players in a race. You sure aren't going to have 32 cars in a Premium Car race. That's not spin, doctor.

It's not a piss and moan act, you asked a loaded question, which was a false dichotomy and I pointed it out by saying what it really was about.

And unless you have heard otherwise, I don't think I can just ignore the 800 cars and still play through GT mode, which is a huge part of GT for me.

Even if I could, there is still the point that it's very dissapointing to get that after 6 years (and no I don't need a right to be dissapointed or anything).

I hope so! GTPSP and these standard cars have really made me question my previous understanding of what a perfections KY was but something in me still believes with stuff like weather and day night, he is gonna do it right if he does it; since they are the kind of things that could be canned without too much detriment if they were bad.

The article was from day one of E3 2010. I just hope they stick to this. I know KY is constantly adding stuff to the game. I'm sure we'll see this stuff on Nov 2nd.

I have to agree with you on this Triple D.
After nearly 6 yrs. I'm more shocked than dissapointed.
The standard car graphics I don't think I'll have a problem with, but no cockpit view seems mighty GT3ish.

I'm not a wheel man at present, but if I was it would be be huge dissappointment.

I was seriously considering getting a wheel once the game came out, assuming all the cars would have cockpit view, but its not likely I would now.

Everything in red was perfectly said.

The game could be near perfect if all cars had a cock-pit view. I mean, we're getting so much content, yet we're still hoping for 800 cock-pits. There's got to be a way to fix that. I am not a cock-pit racer, but I'd be pissed if only 2/10 cars had that particular view.

Other than that, the game seems beyond up to date. It's redefining. But no matter how much rain or snow falls or how much I can customize my ZR1 Vette, there really ought to be cock-pits for the cock-pit enthusiast. It's their game, too, you know.

I just recieved a reply to my email regarding the Kotaku GT5 article. This is what I wrote (I apologize for some minor brown-nosing :

Hello there .

I've been following your website for quite a while now, and all I can say is thumbs up! .

I just read your E3 article on GT5, and I have one question, if you don't mind .

It's about this segment of the article:

"The developers have created fully modeled interiors for the Premium cars, as well as doing detailed modeling for the car's undercarriage and even the exhaust pipes! The Standard cars apparently won't have the exact interior modeling. For example, an Enzo's interior will look like the real deal, but your typical Mustang's will look like exactly like Mustang's."

Maybe you have noticed, but there has been quite a lot of fuss regarding the recent announcement of Premium and Standard cars in GT5, and if the latter have cockpit view or not. What you write in the above segment indicates that the standard cars do indeed have a cockpit/dashboard view, just not nearly as detailed as the premium cars.

Could you by any chance clarify this? Because according to some other articles, it suggests that the Standard cars don't have any form of cockpit/dashboard view. So do the standard cars have some sort of a cockpit/dashboard view? Also, if you happen to know, are the Standard cars simply upscaled GT4 models, or have the car models been improved so thy don't look out of place in a race with premium cars?

If you have the time and info to answer those questions, I (and probably all of GTplanet.com :P ) would be really thankful .

Best regards

And this is the reply I got:

"What you write in the above segment indicates that the standard cars do indeed have a cockpit/dashboard view, just not nearly as detailed as the premium cars."

That's correct. And that's why I wrote it.

He didn't comment on if the standard cars would be simply upscaled GT4 models or not, but this indicates that the standard cars should have a cockpit view, just not with the same amount of details as the premium cars.

Just wanted to let you guys know

Trust me, I've been following all the cock-pit threads (seen you post that today a few times). I always have thought they'd have one. And I still do. But I'm not 100% convinced either way.

If you don't terribly mind me asking,

What is it?

ummm...a quick jump to the news page of GTPlanet will inform you that a Track editor, weather, stunt arenas and go-karting have all been confirmed.

let's talk about that and get off the SAME STUPID argument that everyone's been stuck on for the past WEEK

With maybe the exception of Track editor, the rest of that stuff is incidental fluff to me.

I could care less.
I don't want to talk about that.
You can't (what was it called) piss and moan about that stuff.

On second thought, there's probably somebody on here that can.

lol...really, you've got nothing to say about the go-karting or stunt arena? I'm impressed.

So basically, all 1000+ will have cockpit views. While it was never a big concern for me to begin with, this just makes the game even more worth while:tup:

All the cars in GTPSP had a pseudo-cockpit view, maybe we'll get something similar in GT5 for the standard cars.

Its probably safe to assume they havent, but I just hope all off this 'incidental fluff' hasnt detracted from making the physics engine the absolute best it can be! With the exception of cockpit view, i would sacrifice all else to have PC sim style physics for GT5!

:ouch:

This year I am going to my grandmothers house for Thanksgiving. She cooks tons of food. I mean, mash potatoes, broccoli and cheese, cranberry sauce, chicken and dumplings, dressing, ham, and tons of sweet tea to drink. But she did overcook the turkey a little bit. So, I am going to bitch and moan about the freaking turkey the entire time. Every time someone brings up some of the other food...

I'm just going to bitch and moan about the overcooked turkey.
