Real time weather if you wan´t it, you synchronize the actual track with it´s real life conditions day/night - sun/rain ;)

Kaz already confirmed this for realtime... So why not also for weather...

:ouch:

This year I am going to my grandmothers house for Thanksgiving. She cooks tons of food. I mean, mash potatoes, broccoli and cheese, cranberry sauce, chicken and dumplings, dressing, ham, and tons of sweet tea to drink. But she did overcook the turkey a little bit. So, I am going to bitch and moan about the freaking turkey the entire time. Every time someone brings up some of the other food...

I'm just going to bitch and moan about the overcooked turkey.

Capiche, baby. ;)

then tropical hurricane on the nurburgring lol

Just have to keep the wind at your back.

That's great about the cockpits(maybe), and I'm excited about the weather, too. I think go-karting will be fun for a little bit, but then it'll just be like racing a slow car after a while. Without the sensation of being that close to the ground, I don't think it will be as exciting as real life.

And best of all, we got a track editor! Maybe this is why they are only giving us 20 tracks in the game, because they know we can make any track we want. Not to mention creating drift tracks, it's gonna be epic! :D

Oh I know they're fun for real, I just don't think that the thrill will transfer over into the game. But maybe not... we will know in 4 months.

It'd be a bit weird to look at if it wasn't the same :).

Yeah I love me some go karting, but a huge part about what makes them fun is the incredible lowness, lack of suspension, acceleration and huge G's as a result of all that.

Considering we already have bumper cam for regular cars, I am not sure the thrill would be quite as much in GT...

nice. can't wait to hear what Sony says...if anything. Although, perhaps they should be asking Polyphony, since it was Sony that leaked the information in the first place.

I bet it's: "We don't comment on rumor and speculation.", even though it was a GT5 execute producer who started it

But we will see...

Yes because a company that produces a product they expect you to buy (ie consumer relationship) is analogous to a family member making something for you out of the goodness of their heart (personal relationship).

Are people around here really so delusional as to believe they have a personal reliationship with PD and KY? Becuase often it seems a lot like it...

BTW what you are talking about is covered by the term "don't look a gift horse in the mouth". Someone is giving you something, don't be too picky about it.

But when it's a consumer product, that's not the same thing at all. It's not a gift and it absolutely warrants inspection and critique.

Nice, we finally get a news source pressing for actual details to questions like this!

yea, but you make it sound even worse...
Who are you to demand something and Kaz to make it for you?
If you dont like what he does, you are more than welcome NOT to buy the game. If the game sells well or not, it will be ultimately his problem, not yours? So why would you have to care so much on his well being and sell performance ?!

You can demand all you want, you can criticize all you want, ultimately, he is the one to choose to listen to you or not...

I am not saying you should stop criticizing, but do so in a constructive way, not in a pessimist way. It's not the end of the world :ouch:.

I am not specifically addressing to you, but rather to the group of people always lamenting.

I just think it would be much better for you and your moral for not being so picky... but then who am i to care so much about your own well being...

Yell all you want, i am happy that Kaz is giving finally us GT5, even with all the short coming.

I must congratulate you on very astute observation there Triple D.
Might warrant a little pissing and moaning from time to time too. :D

What am I demanding? I am responding to info coming out and voicing my opinion and desires. I would say calling it demanding is making it sound worse than it is if anyone is guilty of that...

I am not banging on KYs door and putting him at gunpoint to finish the rest of the cars.

And you say keep being critical but be constructive... we are doing just that! And the best part is that when people do speak out about negatives no matter they get bitched at by people who are tired of all the whining (and are ironically whining the loudest about the least important thing) and told to stop being critical (creative or not) and just wait becuase it might get better!

And I keep hearing "it's not the end of the world" or "it's not a game breaker" as if those are the only options warranting of negative receptions. So basically if it doesn't completely render the game useless we shouldn't complain?

As a consumer it is absolutely normal and expected to have a reaction to the product they are asking me to pay for.

And it goes beyond just those dry esoteric views, it also includes how PD has been pretty much witholding information and building up expectations through their pesentations and dodgy answers. There is marketing, but there is a fine line at which it crossed creatively showing your best side and just lying through omission. When you do the latter it is gonna get some of your market share peeved.

And I disagree, I don't think I am making it sound any worse than it is, I am making it sound exactly how it is which SOUNDS a lot worse than the pleasant (although) inaccurate analogies a lot of people toss around here.

And I respect you are addressing what is generally a group of people doing a similar type of thing and not just me, so let me address the opposite group: the ones who come along pretty much demanding that the negative talk be silenced and coming up with all means and angles of reasons why. If you look many of those with your opinion are coming in with different (and often opposing) reasons and answers as to why we should be silent. That is far more annoying, I think, than simply responding negatively to what is in all fairness, negative information.

They will say "There goes Gamescom and TGS."

We should email them and ask IGN to press them about the cock-pit debate.

not a good idea, they just have majority of favouritism in Xbox, trust me on this is better to take them out of this contest, better to don't make the GT5 9/11 into a global scale.

(there is a console war out there !!!!! :nervous: )

update: also cheeking that IGN took the GT5 editor as a fact, lets hope this get clarify because, I don't want to seem like a pessimist but people is taking the track editor as a fact and is better to keep it as a "possible feature"

Your completely right. When purchasing something, you should be a critic. Personally, I will investigate for 5 months before I finally decide on which new computer I'm going to buy (just did).

However, GT is somewhere in between. Kaz and his team have continuously and consistently put way more content in their game than was needed to sell. I think we all know that this is more of a passion to him than a business.

So, it is probably more analogous to a great artist. They are still going to sell the product, because they need to support their hobby, but their main goal is to pursue something they love.

Besides, for 99% of the members here, it is a given that they will buy the game. So, when they hear people unnecessarily criticizing it, and ruining the hype, they get annoyed.

Certainly there are things about the GT series that have deserved a lot of criticism, but there are people on this site that take it way too far and seemingly never get excited about anything. Almost, like GT is more of a chore than a love. When you are doing that, you are missing the point.

So....

Eat the dry turkey, enjoy the other great food and mingle with the family. Because moments like this are meant to be enjoyed.:)

I don't know what McLaren thinks of this, but 👍

Anyway, this might shock Deve, might not, but I'll be buying a $2300 synthesizer workstation without even trying it.

See, it's a Kurzweil, which is a kind of legendary instrument among synthesizers. It does more than all but the very most expensive instrument, which right now is the KORG Oasys at $7000 plus. This Kurz is a fourth generation instrument. I have the first, a little module which plays a paltry number of notes, which I bought after selling the keyboard version a few years ago. Even though it's an old and pretty limited instrument, it still does more things and provides a stellar quality of sound to some of the best modern synths. The new Kurz, the PC3, has a nice 76 note keyboard like a baby grand piano, and all of the features I want in a synth except sampling. But then, I haven't heard it. Haven't even seen one.

So why am I buying it?

Because Kurzweil has a signature sound all its own. It allows you to play with sounds like no other instrument. I have the K2000 module, and I know the PC3 is four generations better. I have remarks of owners to judge it by. And mostly, because I trust Kurzweil.

This is a lot like GT5 for me, except I own the latest version of their game. Some people are kind of meh on Prologue, but I love it. I consider it to be surprisingly close to a PC sim in feel and physics. And the cars, tracks, graphics and gameplay are top shelf. Yeah, GT5 is a different game. With those 800 Standard cars, a way different game! And there may be Standard tracks too, for all we know. But I got used to the idea pretty quick. After all, I was one of those who would have been happy with GT4 HD, which I even proposed back in 2005. The Premium cars and tracks are the essence of motorsport porn. Pure, unadulterated, graphic ecstacy. We get both.

I'm buying it without question or complaint, because I've played other games. They aren't Gran Turismo. And I trust the Master. ;)
