What's really sad about that is, you can tell some standards look A LOT better than others, example, the land rover looks GREAT compared to the miata, veyron is also standard, and it looks A LOT better than that too. Wonder if that's just a bad angle or if photomode actually makes standards look worse? I saw a replay of a standard miata and it didn't look that bad on the replay.

It looks photoshopped if you ask me.

I'm so pleased with Polyphony that they could put so much effort into making such a styled, so modern and so realistic simulator :) It really amazes me how far technology has gone these days and what we're capable of doing. These pictures look stunning :D

Hot DAM! Isn't the F 40 a standard car too? :dunce::dunce:

That F40 is what I'm looking for when it comes to premium damage. I don't want my car to break in half if it hits a wall, but I do want to see some deformation. It will only get better from here in GT6.

Some of those Photomode pics are gorgeous. Unbelievable quality.

Apparently it is what they want. Its bumper cars or demolition derby some people want

The SDF in full swing... apparently it's always relevant to take examples to the extreme...

You want more damage? You must want bumper cars and Twisted Metal!

No livery editor is great becuase we won't have to have crazy green and pink ricer cars!

If you have to reach that far, it's probably not worth making the reach you know?

I'm sick of all the whining going on here, how are PD supposed to make the damage system completely realistic in a game such as GT5? I mean if they do that then a single crash at 120km/h might end the race for you, is that what you really want?

Actually yes... that is exactly what I want... but of course I want the ability to tone it down also and possibly the ability to adjust visual and mechanical damage individually...

I would think that means EVERYONE can have fun... my GF who can't keep a car on track above 40mph could still SEE all the awesome fender bending without getting frustrated by being out of a race after screwing up, while I on the other hand can have a really edge of the seat experience the whole way loving the fact that taking a turn too fast doesn't just mean loosing a few positions, it may well mean the whole race is totally shot!

Let's put it this way: With GT4 if I made ANY contact with another car during the first lap or two of a race I would restart becuase it felt so wrong that I wasn't suffering the damage penalty for that contact.

Even with games that do have damge like Forza and Toca I always cranked it up full and still felt dirty when it took serious work to destroy your car (although TOCA did do a great job letting you even break a wheel off your car if the impact was bad enough).

Someone please tell me the music on the Megane vid isn't what we have ingame coz it doesn't suit it at all :(

I can't view the video since i'm in the US, but amar said that there are 189 songs in GT5. So they're going to have music that spans a wide variety of genres. Plus you have custom soundtracks, so you can make your own playlist if you aren't happy with what's supplied in game.

Good point but do you realize just how much music I have lol, ive only so far managed to trasfer about 3 albums to the PS3 so my guess is i better get a move on :( lol

More videos coming tomorrow!

...

...

..I sat and watched this like, with the same excitement I'd watch a real onboard lap. The atmosphere of Le Mans with the low sun shining through the car, hugely improved sound, physics look real. It's beautiful!

Judging by the vids posted by ChrisTheDude, (thanks for the vids btw) the physics look totally revamped. He can barely keep an M3 on the track and it didn't sound like he was flooring the gas out of the turns either. With no assists, new physics, and mechanical damage, I can't wait to see who can actually pull off the 24 hours race in one piece! Gonna be a blast.👍

Yeah, I think his videos are a must watch for those that might be concerned about the physics due to the lack of the Pro/Standard option. His commentary makes it pretty clear that there's nothing dumbed down about GT5's physics engine.

Okay my friends, i'm presently driving the game, and videos are coming tonight, I recorded SSR7 (night/rain) in SLS (sound is AWESOME with a 7.1 kit) Megane RS R25 in the rain alpen stuff, Maserati gran turismo on deep forrest
We are completing AMG driving school now

Driving physics are dramatically improved, much more sim like than before !

What would you consider to be suitting for it then?

Something dance music esque or the like I mean if the RedBull F1 team uses dance music before a race to get Gee'd up then it must work, Although I do understand not everyone has the same taste but even so some music just doesn't quite fit its like playing Ace Of Spades at a funeral, For lack of a better analogy
