I'm Impressed with the damage, if people want greater damage than this in GT5, I'm not sure what else to tell you, spose we could remove about 800 cars, and maybe the course maker.

Now what we need to know is how much effort is actually needed to damage the car to that extent. If we compare that to real life, it looks like a 20-25 Km/h crash to both car's ends.

I'm sick of all the whining going on here, how are PD supposed to make the damage system completely realistic in a game such as GT5? I mean if they do that then a single crash at 120km/h might end the race for you, is that what you really want?

Ok so I am going to my flat in town where my friend is playing ATM, taking my HD cam ;)
Hope to get some good footage, keep in touch in a few hours xD

Damage in GTA IV is amazing by the way. Also the driving was "fun". :dopey:

Apparently it is what they want. Its bumper cars or demolition derby some people want

KEEP your filthy hands OFF the course maker...

Clearly you are not a rally fan.

GTA IV is an action game that doesn't use real car brands though;they can do whatever they like to the cars from small scratches to blowing them up and no one would complain about it. Allowing cars to blow up in a racing sim game would be very annoying and would totally ruin the driving experience.

A sharp contrast to the beautifully modeled (and damaged) F40, this standard Mx5 leaves alot to be desired.

@PSNGAMER so i take it you never played aSIMBIN title, particularly GTR2 i remember the first time i actually blew a car up, i was testing the SuperGT 09 mod on suzuka when my TAKATA NSX clipped the grass into turn 1 and i went rear first into the barrier and just caught on fire like BAMMM. It was great, next time around, i kept it real clean and proper. Im not sayin this is essential, but the feeling of anxiety and caution it gives you can never be replicated with a limited damage system. Even being able to stall the car makes you more aware and cautious.

No, it is realistic driving, when you suck at driving and brake your car, well, then you simply suck, it is your fault, and I doubt PD would ever force the players to choose damage. So PLEASE be considerate of the people, who want a greater challenge=realistic damage.

Both MS and Sony are aiming for 10-year life cycles, so if we've had 4 years already... that's 6 to go.

wrong... what they mean by the 10 year is that they will continue to support it for 10 years. just like sony did with ps2, the ps3 was out and they continued to support the ps2... we will see ps4 2011/2012 for sure

however i believe GT6 will be on ps3. just like how GT4 was on ps2 right around the time of the launch of ps3. I see that happing again. I think PD will spend maybe 1.5 years tops making it
