Are you guys telling them to make GT on mobile phones

PS3 is good they will make GT6 even more impressive and of course GT7 on PS4 will be ultra realistic

I thought GT6 was planned on PS4. Since the PS4 is just supposed to be an evolution of PS3 (just simpler for game developers to exploit all the capabilities of the PS3)

Where did you hear that? I dont think anybody said GT6 was going to be on the PS4 and I dont think anybody but sony knows what hardware will be in the PS4.

it will be better

Your setting yourself up for a let down there if you think GT6 will be graphically better.

That doesnt mean there isnt enough ram in the PS3. There should be 1GB ram in there at least.

Consoles don't require the ram PC's do, the PS3 video game console contains the first production application of the Cell processor, clocked at 3.2 GHz and containing seven out of eight operational SPEs, to allow Sony to increase the yield on the processor manufacture. Only six of the seven SPEs are accessible to developers as one is reserved by the OS(XMB). One is powering the operating system, and the others are powering the game.

The XMB barely uses anything at all to run, this is why consoles don't need as much ram as a personal computer, if your gaming machine at home, has a virus scanner, messenger, background apps, browser tabbed, yeah you'll need a lot of ram. If sony had it in their hands right now, most they'd give it is 512. You'll see why bigger isn't that much of an issue when it runs reads/writes as fast as it does.

Edit, I have been doing microprocessing for 20 years, started doing Qbasic at 9 years old, there's not a lot I can learn currently about computers.

Can't remember, old sony conference maybe a year ago ? I'm sure it has changed now since technologies are improving by the minute xD

Do tell me where the data goes then. Whats the point in having the ram if its not being used? Maybe they should have put 64mb of ram in there then maybe  Also all the background apps on my PC use no more than 128MB of ram.

No the PS3 doesnt have enough video ram to make GT5 any better and we have no clue what the PS4 hardware will be like.

Peoples always say the hit the limit but they always find a new way to better their technology at the end, pd will definitely improve and make GT6 even better.

Where are people getting this information? You guys are just making assumptions. Sony hasn't even acknowledged the PS4s existence. It is still years away. Another 4 - 5 years at least. Sony is planning for the PS3 to last a real long time.

It will be. If only a little. There's no code so good that it can't be optimized more allowing for better looking graphics. Not even PD's code. Since they've claimed they pretty much reached the maximum potential the PS3 has to offer I'm sure any improvements will be subtle and not mind-blowing but... there's always room for improvement.

I cant wait for the GT6 Epic raging again.

You know what. Ill leave you guys set yourselves up for a disapointment. Sony spent five years optomising GT5 and I doubt they can get any better. Even KY said himself that the PS3 is holding him back.

What the hell!!! I wasnt complaining. I was just saying that it would be nice to buy a standard car the same way that its possible to buy a premium car.

Also its nice to know that PD told you that information about the standard cars.

Another thing about smoke and damage. People were crying because it wasnt in earlier videos and now that smoke and damage is in the game its not good enough for the people who were crying for it.

Take it easy, I wasn't attacking you, I just used your post as ground work for my post. Sorry if you think I was attacking you, it's just the annoying rhetoric and criticisms get to be a bit annoying. Like people were expecting a flawless game, our parents were expecting flawless kids instead they got us. Things happen, and these guys have to make decisions, and we have to live with those decisions. It's fine to criticize, but at times enough is enough and more often than not repeating the same quibbles is just pathetic.

Anyway 256MB of the fastest RAM still leaves you with little RAM, no matter how you slice it. With these games eating up bandwidth with these high end visuals, wouldn't much more of the adequate speed RAM work out better? x360 graphics card seems to do pretty fine with it's slower internal RAM, makes up for it with EDRAM on chip though. Trade offs, that's all. One Day GPU manufacturers will figure out how to build a more efficient chip.

Does anyone know if the HUD can be turned off or if we can adjust opacity, because looking at the elements on screen i can see my new plasma getting bad burnin as i will be playing a lot.

I hope to have gt6 on the future ps4, I don't think that the actual generation of console will last more than a couple of years....
As far as I know the biggest problem of the ps3 is the RSX that is quite old (even the 360's xenos is sligthly better:yuck:....) so I think that if we want to have a photorealistic gt6 (even if the actual one is amazingly close to photorealism imho...) we have to wait the next PS!

PS3 is out exactly for 4 years. GT6 should be in production for more then two years. So I bet GT6 will be out on PS4. No need to have GT5 and GT6 on PS3.

I think what PD seem to have achieved with GT5 graphics is amazing. Just ask a top PC dev what he could achieve with five year old hardware.

To get the disappointment out of the way now, expect PS4 to have 2GB ram total.(with an outside chance of 4GB)

I drool at the thought of what PD will do on PS4 with 2GB of ram and say a 16spu cell and 20MB edram+GPU power equivalent to a mid spec card of today.
