Yea, it's sickening. It is 4 days long and people think it's over in 30 minutes? LOL, that was only Kaz's little bit. Sony will appear again and so should Kaz.

I personally haven't been too enthralled by FM3, especailly when drift videos like the recent one are shown.

Likely still get it though.
 
Even if this March 2010 release date is 100 percent true (which it seems to be), they can at least now start providing us with screens, videos, and info without having to hide too much (hopefully).

They'll probably still keep some things under wraps, but I don't think we'll be left completely in the dark for the next 6 months like we have been over the past year or so.

I didn't say it's going to flop, I just said that saying because GT did well in the past means it will do well now is flawed. Every dynasty comes to an end... Mortal Kombat rocked for the first 3, then went downhill, Streetfigher rocked for who knows how many and then got weak.

I didn't say GT5 will flop, and in fact if nothing else it will ride on the previous GTs good name, but if it doesn't do some serious surprising and shaping up the next one may not have the same momentum to ride on.
 
I don't really care, I can still wait to get a PS3 now.
PD is going to have to rename the game GT:6 by time it's all said and done. There is still plenty of time left in the show for them to go more in depth about GT:5, three days right?

There are plenty of other GREAT sim racing games to play still; GT:4, Tourist Trophy, GT:5p, Enthusia, FM:1, FM:2, the list keeps on going. GT:Mobile has my interest, I may just get a PSP and give that a go for a while. I would like to know about the games features, if I've waited this long, I won't lose interest by 03/10... Besides perhaps now we will get a stream of news about GT:5 instead of speculation.
Save for a nice G-25/27 and build a cockpit if you don't have one yet.

Polyphony Digital's Kazunori Yamauchi revealed model details on the highly anticipated Gran Turismo 5 for PlayStation 3. During Sony's Tokyo Game Show 2009 press conference, the following modes and features were revealed:

* GT Mode: World Map, My Garage, Car Dealer, Tuning Shop, Championship Race, and License Test.
* Online: Open Lobby, Text/Voice Chat, Private Room, Online Photo Album, Online Replay Album, and you can export replays to YouTube.
* Photo Mode: Photo Drive, Photo Stage.
* GT TV: Improved UI, export of videos to PSP, and progressive downloading.

While everyone expects a new Gran Turismo game to have improved graphics and physics (don't worry, they're there), the connectivity of GT5 is really interesting. I know loads of gamers that will be thrilled to upload their exploits to YouTube or transfer them to their PSPs to show off their driving skills. The new additions are super interesting and really round out the overall offering.

What do you think of these modes? Anything in particular strike you?

Unlocking cars in GT tracks while on the go will help the wait till March more bareable. I see nothing wrong with unlocking cars on my psp and transfering them into Hi res, damagable cars with improved physics that i'll have to spend money to upgrade. Not to mention I will not be able to drive them till I unlock the race/cup/Championship anyway.

Like it or not the GT5 delay just sold a huge amount of GT PSPs.

While I'm shaking and baking on my PSP Kaz will be finalizing his work.
 
While I am as tempted as the next person, I'm not going to rush out and buy an XBOX for Forza 3. It's the only game I would play on that console, and if many of you are the same, that would be a waste. I already went out and bought a PS3 to play GT5 and I'd say many others did the same thing.
I'm not gonna make that same mistake twice.

I know that the veteran personalities around here love to tell people to stop complaining and give PD a break. I've been here quite a while, and well, this sucks. Some big advancement. Sure, I have a life and probably wouldn't even play GT5 for more than a few hours a week, but really? I'm not a huge gamer, and GT and the Madden series are about all I play. And the Seahawks SUCK this year in Madden. It sucks, it just does.

The wait sucks, I want GT9 right now!!! But we have to wait longer for GT5 and its not really worth boycotting the series and Sony in general. a lot of these threats are ridiculious and I doubt 10% of the people will see them out.
 
Is everyone still forgetting about GTPSP? For godsake at least GTPSP is DEFINITELY coming out October 1!!! Damn, all you negative newbies just come in here and curse out GT like its the plague.
But anyways, really, wasn't it obvious that it wasn't coming out so soon? There is still a lot that PD has to implement into GT5 and Kazunori is still researching cars to include in GT5. Remember, all of your disappointment is self created, Nothing came from PD or KY about GT5 except what we know now and what ever news was accurate about GT5 in the first place. I said it before and I will say it again, Don't speculate on anything because people will believe it is a fact and they will post it up as a fact. Let GT5 be a surprise and live on.
Remember, GTPSP is coming out soon, like next week, so don't be too disappointed.

Even if you can't/won't buy a 360 and Forza 3 in the meantime, there's a lot more to life than waiting for GT5.

Speakin of money its a recession and i aint got 300 beans for a PSP plus GTPSP 60 bones, thats almost a g27 right there or a g25 with wheel stand pro.

prologue sold 4 million. GT will be fine.

The only question here will it reach the heady heights of GT3

Seriously, how about instead of talking about GT5 based on the merits of previous GTs, we look at the merits of GT5 in todays terms, not yesterdays games in yesterdays terms.

With the info we got now I'm more than happy, if you wanna buy a 360 and Forza do it is you're $$$, when March (or whatever date they release it) you gonna look back and regret spending $$$ on that other inferior game.

Impulse buying because you're mad with someone you dont even know (Kaz) and doesnt owe you anything says a lot about your maturity.
 
We still have GTPSP which has 800 cars and 35 tracks, that's more than enough to last us until March. GT5 isn't everything, we still have something new to do until GT5 comes along.
 
hmmm.....if it released in december, that would have been 3 months, people still would have complained.

The way these years are passing December will be here before we know it.

I can only say one thing, this is the first time a date has ever been announced for GT5, its not like the game is being delayed from a date already given!

Street Fighter 4?? It just a RELEASE DATE!!! all the news about the game was great, what feature were you dissapointed in? The release is farther away then I would like it but if anything, the game can only be better! I doubt PD will be spending their time with their thumbs up thier butt.

GT5P sold fine because it was what it should have been at the time. Did you see pages and pages of people pissed off at the wait and missing features?

Like I said, past sales doesn't say anything about whether or not this is a big dissapointment.

And I am going to be buying F3, but I was going to anyway, I have a 360 already so it was a no brainer. My purchase is not important, but sony and PD should be unhappy by the number of people who will be buying F3 who otherwise wouldn't have...

trust me 6 month will go fast,,, Nov/Dec will be a hell busy time for me and during winter i have a time to buy g25 and making a project cockpit for sim racing should be fun!

You should change "20 locations and 70 tracks" to "70 tracks and 20 photo mode locations"
