Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

Kaz is known to speak English, he does it fairly well. However when you're dealing with things that need to be worded extremely delicately and carefully.. speaking in a foreign language probably isn't best.

This way, we have the cross reference of having him saying everything in his own language to avoid any confusion caused by a simple mistake in wording.

True, you just wonder why Kaz doesn't let there be a second "face" to PD or take the time to learn English in more detail. I'm not saying he should or has to of course, it's up to him, it just strikes me as being a bit odd to call a press conference in the UK and giving it via a translator. I don't know how hard translating is but I'm sure Translator San didn't have the time and memory to translate everything as Kaz said originally.

On PS3 aswell and possibly PS4.

When did PD ever say it might be on PS4. Never so what you are saying is entirely made up which means you are supplying false information which could result in some infractions or your source is incorrect therefore I recommend not using it.

Yesterday during an j review with Kaz. Relax kid.

Kaz said it's in his mind, so you can interpret that as a possibility.

They said PS3. I have watched the entire event and not once did they mention PS4.

Go back about 20 pages to yesterday evening. It was in an interview. You know, when members if the media get to ask Kaz questions and then he answers them? Jordan, the owner of GTPlanet, will be posting his Q&A session "soon".

How did you watch the "entire" event?
See the GT6 forum.

There was a great deal of summarising, it was an awkward transaction of information that felt like it lacked preparation. I'd imagine E3 etc will have much better planning.

That's why you write a script.

I have to say that I actually see more issue with using the translator, and a track record of 'what the......?" translations from Kaz exists to back that up.

How hard would it be for Sony and PD to get it translated (I have a friend lives in Japan and does Japanese to English translations - he'd do it) and then checked by Sony in Europe. Lets be fair that's how Sony do it for the E3 presentations.

Absolutely, I don't disagree.

I'm just expressing what I think the logic behind that decision was 👍

Yes I've always wanted the E63 in GT.
EDIT:I also noticed the Audi Quattro S1(in the GT6 trailer) has Walter Rohrl's name on it which is nice to know.:)

If it does appear on PS3 I will be a man and admit I was totally wrong, I have no problem in doing so. I'll be completely amazed but still, no problem admitting I was wrong. I don't feel the need to be careful in what I'm saying because I'm very confident in what I'm saying.

Welcome back SimonK!

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I told you so!

Which are PC games, and PCs these days have more ram in their graphics cards than the entire PS3 does. Ram is essential in order to have lifelike articulate sounds in them. I'm a musician and recording engineer in my spare time too, so I'm familiar with this little factoid.

I know I shouldn't, largely because you're going to ignore it and I'm actually taking the thread off it's beaten path, but you really can't help yourself can you?

Also, the Xbox (the original Xbox) and Forza Motorsport says "Hi, we only had 64MB of RAM and did fine in the audio department."

In Forza 4, the other cars make generic sounds, and yours is the one with remotely proper sound. I say "remotely" because even a VW Beetle makes an ungodly roar like it has a V8 and a Borla exhaust in F4.

Except for the part where that just isn't the case. In replays every car on the grid has the same samples as they did during the actual event. Granted, they may not have the full ranged tonality until you've switched over to them, but to say they make generic sounds is, well, classic you.

When my car overpowered the field of street cars in one GT5 race, I decided to just cruise past them and was pleasantly surprised that every car had its own exhaust notes, and was pretty much like its real life counterpart from what I remembered of them.

And the point here is, I presume, that Forza doesn't do this? If that is the point, no. If that's not the point, please, elaborate.

You sound guys can argue that Codemasters and Turn 10 do it right and PD does it wrong, but we're just going to have to disagree on this.

I'm just going to mention two cars from GT5: CT230R and the HSV-010. I dare you to tell me they sound anything like their actual counterparts.

Kaz said it's in his mind, so you can interpret that as a possibility.

Which also translates to at least 1 year after the PS4's launch or GT6's release on the PS3. I could be wrong though and they could do it quicker since their engine is to be used for the long future, but for sure it won't be anytime soon or at launch. I can't see them releasing alongside DriveClub, because really, how many publishers release two racing games at one time? Also, I can't see them releasing GT6 on the PS3 this holiday and then 1 year later, hey! here's GT6 again, for the PS4.

That's why you write a script.

It's not exactly a script, but there was a press release paper, highlighting all the main points of the presentation, which I think iafrica used as source.

What he actually said was:

"We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind"

Don't see much sense in doing it though. I know there was one time where I wouldn't have said no but having really thought about it, I don't see a real gain in releasing it as a PS4 title Many months after it was on the PS3.

If you look back a few pages or in my posts you'll see I did exactly that, admitted I was wrong. Like I said, I have no problems admitting I was wrong.

I guess you were really gone for a bit. I thought I just missed timing on your posts or something cause I was looking forward to your input last Wednesday on the 8th, cause I thought you were one of the ones that strongly believed GT6 couldn't be a PS3 game. Well speculations are finally over, sooner that I thought too. Thanks for not ranting that it should've been on PS4, Sony being dumb, or that it was a financial mistake or something, and instead calmly admitting like a man lol.

PS Kudos to ChrunchHouston if you're reading. You were right, I was wrong. 👍

Thanks SimonK, this thread is growing so fast, I probably would have missed that. :)

I'm kinda missing those little feet though. :sly:

Imagine what will happen this autumn when GT6 gets released.

Possibly a new current active users record then! (current record: 4 times as many users as it is now) :scared:

BTW
Quarter Finals: Czech Rep. 1 - 2 Switzerland :dunce::dunce::dunce:

Also, not to forget that GTPlanet pretty much crashed from all the traffic during the presentation.

(Off topic: Switzerland seems to have something of a dream team this year, they beat Sweden too! USA is next, right?)

Hope Jordan is ready for this, is he? :scared:

And yeah, we won all 8 games so far. Canada, Sweden, 2x Czech Rep, Whiterussia, Norway, Denmark, Slovenia. Best goal difference of all 16 nations, most points, best powerplay, the only team who won all games. :dunce:

First Semi Final since 1998! (although we were quite often in the quarters). So yeah, SUI - USA then (they beat russia 8-3, the fu?).

Jordan be ready for a GTPlanet explosion!

I believed analog and thought we were going to be able to create our own cars from scratch. From that, and the PC connectivity, and because I'm used to Trackmania, I assumed we would have access to a database where people would upload real cars that they would have modelled themselves. And I thought it was a a very clever way to get around the long development times and licensing fees they were facing as developers. So, because the thought didn't even cross anyone else's mind, now I'm a bit sad cuz wrong.

Another thing, I can't play online and I thought the event creator would mean that I would be able to create my own offline events with, say, only DTM cars. If it turns out to be a tool for online admins only, I will be sad again.

If you cannot play/go online, then it's really a moot point whether or not the cars can be created and shared, you wouldn't be able to download them :sly:
