Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

Why do you say 4 "new" locations are just GT5 DLC tracks?

It's been posted several times already. Logic is PD's announcement is based on vanilla GT5 tracks, not considering dlc. That is the only way the numbers can coincide.

Still, those are the tracks that come with the game since day1. On the conference and on the flyer it was said that plenty of tracks are going to be added via dlc, including both classics and new to the series.

edit: plus there's that spanish location too -since Jordan posted players can create circuit layouts there-, the better made track creator and the new gps feature to create your own.

Hmm, guess I missed that in the GT News article. I thought it said 7 new locations not 3 new and some old ones you got in GT5 DLC.

33 Locations and 71 layouts will be provided from day1 (7 more locations and 19 more layouts than GT5)
but these seven tracks haven't a total number of 19 layouts (spa, motegi, kart space, ss route x, silverstone, brands hatch and mount panorama)?!

Yesterday after Jordan posted his video, someone had said that it confirms more NASCAR. I didn't see anything related to NASCAE in the menu. I didn't see the Gen 6 Cup car in the car selection. So what gives?

It matches the amount of locations.

It's actually a more or less known information, if we take their latest press release as truthful.
The problem here is how much actually new content will be included at release.
We already know that in GT6 there are going to be "19 brand new track layouts":

"[...]one of seven new locations in Gran Turismo 6, taking the total to 33, with 71 different layouts available, 19 of them brand new"

So, of those layouts, 71-19= 52 of them aren't "brand new".
And 33-7 "brand new locations" (they actually mean "tracks") is 26 tracks that aren't brand new as well.

GT5 "vanilla", coincidentally, has 26 tracks and 52 layouts (excluding reverse variations of original tracks), so they're clearly comparing GT6 to the initially released version of GT5.

But wouldn't it be strange if they didn't include GT5 DLC tracks as well?
With DLC tracks, the GT5 track content increases to 30 tracks and 60 layouts. Which means that GT6 would only have room left, at release, for 3 new tracks (4 if we exclude TTGT which is rumored to not be in GT6 due to licensing reasons) and 11 new layout/variations.

So, in the best case, that's 7 completely new tracks / 19 completely new layouts.
In the worst (and most likely) case, it's 3 completely new tracks / 11 completely new variations over GT5+GT5 DLC.

As for layouts,
- Silverstone has 3 (gt6 demo).
- Spa 1.
- Kart space 2.
- Route X 1 (I think).
- Motegi 4.

I thought the 7 new locations would be; Silverstone, Bathurst, Apricot Hill & Seattle (seen in NSX concept trailer) Willow Springs raceway (seen in stingray trailer), Brands hatch and something else. Or am I missing something?

Exactly what I thought.

Here's the said flyer:

As you can see, it clearly makes the distinction between tracks new to the series and classics. For example Seattle is not considered a new track, whereas Silverstone and Brands Hatch are.

Remember also that there's additional variations that can be added to current tracks. Suzuka West, for instance.

Maybe we'll get the GT5-DLC tracks once again as DLC tracks. Or maybe we can "import" them as they're already connected to our console/account.

Now I understand, old tracks are not counted as new since they have already been in the francise. It all makes sense now, thanks:)

i have to say.. im not impressed...
it is still ps3... i dont really think all the standardcars will look as good as shown in the video... i was hoping they will launch it together with the ps4 release..

@ avens. OK, that's what I thought. Just something someone on GTP posted without really knowing. I'll wait to see the official track list and not go on someone's "expert" conjecture.

I mean really, do you actually think PD would state "new" locations then say DLC GT5 tracks are NEW?

Hater? Do you know how the series goes?

Gran Turismo 1 & 2 Playstation 1
Gran Turismo 2 & 4 Playstation 2
Gran Turismo 5 & 6 Playstation 3

Whats your issue?

Numbers are not a conjecture.

Yes. It happens all the time in other franchises and we know the new approach is to release tracks and cars as dlc, again something already done in other franchises.

Now what follows is a proper conjecture, but that turns out to be logical: The first DLC Pack could be called "GT Classics", including Seattle and 2 or 3 others.

When they say there will be a vast amount of aero parts and wheels to customize your car, it makes me really excited, but I won't get my hopes up. I just want a better way to customize my car to make it "my own" and am praying that by the customizing and personalizing they are hinting at a livery editor. I had so much fun in Forza 3's editor when I played it at a friends house.

I really hope they decide to also makes a lot more of the cars RM'able too.:)

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I just found some new interior pictures of the KTM and the Dino

And again, the Jaguar many have missed, which I suspect is that covered car (in the poster picture).
