Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

Drive Club is what ... arcade racer with real cars, something like next-gen Ridge Racer. I don't see how GT6 can interfere with that. I would happily buy both and play the hell out of them.

And two consoles under TV is no go, at least for me.

Simple: Look at the sales from Konami's "Enthusia" game and then look at the sales of GT4, which came out at literally the same time. That is how GT6 would affect Drive Club.

I don't think that's a very fair judgement.

Tons of people will buy a GT title no matter what, because it's a GT title, because it's backed by more advertising, etc.

Therefore, it'll always be harder for a game such as Enthusia to outsell GT4, even if it's better.

I doubt GT4 took away many sales from Enthusia. And I doubt GT6 would take away many sales from DriveClub. I'd buy both of them. It's just harder for a small-name game to make itself heard and sell a bunch of games, so comparing its sales figures to a massive-name that solely makes racing games and is completely backed by Sony just doesn't seem fair.

Honestly, I hope it comes out for PS4. I don't want PD to try and rush the game to get it on PS3. I'd like them to take there time, but not too long, of course. I'm ready for a new console, and I think GT6 would have more to offer it came out on PS4. Things such as improved graphics, quicker loading speeds, and improved online servers can easily be achieved.

Why would GT6 be rushed if it came out on the PS3?

What I'd do is give the ps3 users some decent DLC content for GT5 (like more races and stuff), stick GT6 on PS4 and be done with it. For me the PS3 may still have some life left in it, but I'm all for and ready for the next gen consoles. If we weren't, Sony and Microsoft wouldn't be releasing them at years end. Ok my logic is slightly flawed as game devs are still releasing AAA titles for the ps3 this year. Just to point it out, this is my opinion and I'm not asserting it in stone.

IMO I think the PS4 and the other next gen consoles are an investment. We are going to be keeping these for the next 7-10 years. What I think's funny is, we don't mind spending £400-£700 on ipads, phones and computers and to be honest quite a few people dont even keep them that long. I may be wrong but thats how I see it nowadays.

A question that I have been wanting to ask. If they launch it on PS3 & 4, won't that have an effect on PS4 sales?

Now I suppose not many people buy a console just for one game but it's a question I've been wondering myself.

Anyway there's my take on the situation, feel free to pick me up or correct me on anything, doesn't bother me as this is my opinion in which we're all entitled to.

Many thanks guys and gals for reading my post.:)

The way I look at this, the only thing I require when GT6 is released is that it should be this year. Personaly I'm for PS3 release but if PD can make it done this year for PS4, I ain't mad.

But, if the PS4 has to hold the game longer inside PD, I'll be very mad cuz I wanna play it now! I'm tired of playing the same game for 3 years already. The same menu, the same cars, the same horrible sounds.. Almost every thing in GT5 is a pain in my ass and I can't hold it.

You're contradicting yourself, if you want a PS3 release you're asking for more of the same, there's only so much the PS3 can do, and GT5 shows it.

I thought they were planing on releasing the PS4?

PD have been working on GT6 for years, it would be stupid to throw away that hard work (:sly:) to develop the game for PS4.

To work on the PS3 it basically needs to be a polished version of GT5. Cut the decade-old standard cars, throw in some new tracks, update the car list with some newer metal and throw in some updated standards, then streamline and improve the pretty poor menus and offline experience.

It would be harder work to produce GT6 for PS3. Instead of coding for a virtual Cell architecture with skimpy ram and a bottlenecked memory buss, they would essentially be coding for the workstations they are using. Plus, we have no idea what PD have been working on for the past three-plus years. It could be PS3, who knows.

But I have to reiterate that it's going to be a much less amazing Gran Turismo than it could be on PS3. I caught four whole cars with working headlights - woot - on a Nurb night demo, and the thought of seeing that again makes me cringe. The PS3 is an amazing system, but you can only do so much with it.

Exactly. They should just start fresh with a new console. If they were to release it on PS4 the game would most likely run smoothly and PD could could use higher end features.

The options people are asking for can be accomplished on the ps3.

We can enjoy gt6 on ps3 while they create a awesome gt7 on new hardware.

OMG OMG OMG!!! GT6 anyone! O_O My hype just sprung! Jordan is gonna be happy! :D

EDIT: lol. I should calm down to wait and see what's in store this week first, haha.

Lol I'm with ya there buddy, but I'm gona try keep my expectations in check. 👍

I just want confirmation of what console it's gona be on and maybe a quarterly time frame of release. But maybe I'm asking for too much lol.

No one knows what happened in GT5, that's why they guess what's happen to it...

I understand that, but really, "lazy" is word that doesn't apply here.

It has already been said, but I think PD are being different just for the sake of it.

That is an excellent point there. Maybe PDI tried to stay unique with some of the things they did and although things like the paint chips didn't work that well, it was indeed different.

I see GT5 as a result of corporate direction meets a developer unwilling to tell the corporate direction that their ideas are unworkable.

It's most likely a bit of both but along the lines of what you posted, the boss in most cases... wins.

Arguably, almost all of those made it into the game in some form or another. Arguably, they're mostly minimalist efforts made just to be able to say that they're in the game.

Most of what is that picture made into the game (as you said) so I don't see GT5's status as incomplete as some here do.

GT5 could have benefitted from dropping some features entirely in order to flesh out others more fully. One great cake is more enjoyable than four average cakes that aren't cooked properly.

Now while I do see your point, I personally didn't mind the average cakes that were in GT5 and I am not alone in this regard either.

GT5 feels like it was mailed in to shut up a bunch of people who didn't understand or refused to understand that what they were doing wasn't the best. I see this at my own job fairly often. It's annoying as hell, but as an employee you can go mad trying to change the impossible.

You very well could be right. GT5 at launch had a "here GT5 is... this should make the corporate big wigs and fans shut up" feel to it. But it also had a feeling of a vast improved physics model (not perfect, I get it) and several new additions to the franchise. Oh, and BTW... fans of racing games can go equally as mad too trying to change things!

GT5 isn't my favorite "game" of the series for GT4 currently holds that crown. With that said, GT5 is my favorite "driving" title of the series so my unhappiness is limited as compared to some you.

Very Interesting indeed, short announcements before E3 is not unheard off,and with the X-BOX reveal later this month this could be Sony trying to steal part of the sshow, roll on this week.

All they would need to do to steal the show was announce a slim vita, GT6, more details on PS4 and other PS only games

Why show the whole hand? No point in tuning into E3 if everyone already knows whats going to be there. If they let out little tid bits, more people think "Ooh, need to pay attention to that" As opposed to "Oh, already knew that, dont need to pay attention"

I think he meant that Sony would have to do just one of those things to "steal the show," not all of them at once.

Whether it's developers or corporate issues, there is something seriously wrong at Polyphony/Sony.

If GT6 is on the PS3 - this won't be GT6, it's just a marketing exercise to save face and try and keep the bewildered and battered organised online racing GT fans interested until the PS4 comes round and the real "GT6" is released.

Polyphony would be far better off releasing a GT5 V2 - with less cars / features and more stability online, a more consistent physics engine that is the same online / offline / race / practice / tt - and then stick to that and not change anything.

<---THIS! you are totally right with what you´re saying. especially the thing about GT5 V2. I´d be so glad to have one more GT on PS3. Not GT6, but a better Version of the current GT.

Thank you for this post.

Cheers M8 :)

 ... Please, tell me whether GT2 is not GT1 v2... It is basicaly. Please tell me whether GT4 is not GT3 v2... It is but with different name, just like GT6 will be...
