Gran Turismo 6 coming to PS3

Amar knows more than anyone ;) I doubt he's wrong.

Ok you don't have to bite my head off... Even if Amar is some kind of insider or spy or whatever else it doesn't make him know everything - actually he just said that:

Thank you for your compliments, but that is not always true. We will see tomorrow, I am excited as everyone 👍

;) I respect him though for his leaks here. 👍

Btw: 2013th post :P

If amar says it won't be announced tomorrow then I trust him, although I kind of thought him and Jordan know something :D

I much prefer this kind of thumb wrestling. ;)

The simple fact is that if Sony need a GT title at launch to sell the PS4 then they have significant issues with the attractiveness of the package to the gaming community at large.
Well, that's not really what anyone has said, and clearly, even without a Gran Turismo title announcement, just seven games or so, PS4 has already grabbed the attention of the market. It's pretty much guaranteed to sell out.

On the matter of launch window, I'd bring up GTHD. People were so vocal about wanting a Gran Turismo on PS3 that Kaz cobbled together a real Gran Turismo 5 demo released worldwide on the PSN within a month of PS3's release, on Christmas Eve. And free to boot. Obviously a real Gran Turismo game is a different matter, but everyone expects both PS4 to be available this fall, and GT6 at roughly the same time.

And yet you have acknowledged in the past that PD could make a few changes to the GT5 package, such as drop the res to 720 to free up RAM for graphical tweaks, tidy up the engine (which is still more than possible), up the number of premium cars, add in new tracks and sort out the UI.

Even those changes would be enough for a GT title that will shift more than enough units, and certainly shift more units at the end of this year than a GT title on the PS4 at that time is going to shift.

Fix the majority of the issues in GT5 and tweak the physics engine and I don't see it casting a huge cloud over anything. Did GT2 cast a huge cloud? Did GT4 cast a huge cloud?
Actually, GT2 and 4 didn't have much to cast a cloud over. PC sim fiends were happily racing away on their PCs, but they undoubtedly regarded the huge splash Gran Turismo made on the racing game world with some amazement and curiosity. Richard Burns Rally fans didn't drop their game to get GT2, but I think it's a safe bet that a number of them decided to grab a copy or try out a friend's on their Playstations. But GT5 did cast a huge cloud, and GT6 is. To a lesser extent, so is Forza.

But on the matter of GT6 on PS3, Yes, I've mentioned a few times that a tweaked up GT5 with more content and none of the silliness of paint chips and the XP system to slog through would make me a happy racer. And undoubtedly make ten million of us happy racers. All PD has to do is what PS3 can deliver.
  • A nice big game with lots of events, and events which revolve around real world racing leagues.
  • Provide lots of tracks to keep those events enjoyable, and be relevant to racing leagues that use them, with weather and time of day on all.
  • Have a good roster of 500 Premium cars or more, and all Race Moddable.
  • Improve the physics and A.I.
  • Provide a Livery Editor, improve the Course Maker, and give us an Event Maker that's good for offline and online use.
  • Beef up online so it's comparable to the typical shooter.
  • Fix the graphic issues.
I'd also love to see a Career Mode that's roughly like that in Project CARS and is GT Academy-like. A good damage model would sure be nice, as would better sounds. But lighting will still be hamstrung by the Cell/RSX engine, and I'm doubtful that any more than 16 car races will happen on PS3, so I'd expect dual class racing at best. A lot of things would get left on the To-Do List for GT7 which I would want badly, like that HD Course Maker allowing me to recreate something of any race course I could imagine, or a realistic damage implementation, or night lighting that was pretty much lifelike, or up to 32 cars on track per race, a full featured Movie Maker would be nice... I dream about as big as Kaz does.

We may get a good whiff of what's coming tomorrow, so let's hope SONY comes through on that. 👍

Amar said, in November, six steps left six steps right...

I am sure I am not the first to say/think the following.
Assuming steps = months, the announcement MAY be just around the corner, in other words SOONY ;)

There is really too much silence around GT6 that makes me think we are really close to something...

I can't wait

Just want to thank amar and Jordan here for making the whole waiting for news a lot more interesting. I wish I had the same insider informations...

I think that the PS3 is capable of at least 24 cars on track. Look at the F1 games. They are about 22-24 cars aren't they?

Just to stir the hype tank a bit more with all these people saying GT6 will be anounced tommorow,

http://us.gran-turismo.com/us/news/d6944.html

^ the Gran Turismo site is being re vamped for tomorow, could be for the anouncment, might not but it definalty fits all the talk going round

I noticed that as well, and it for surely screams out GT6 is being announced tomorrow. :) OMG, my hype is just kicking so much I'm shaking.

I can't say - because I don't know - when the actual announcement is going to be announced - but game will not be announced tomorrow. *Maybe* only announcement of the announcement, but nobody knows that yet.

Announcement of the announcement?

I TAKE THAT. Good enough to control the hype.

It's over the roof right now, caffeine and all.

I think its quite likely that GT6 is going to be PS3. Think about the PS4 launch conference thingy. They showcased a driving game called Driveclub. What would have been the point in doing that if GT6 would follow up shortly after release, or even at release, and totally blown it out of the water?

Anyway, really hoping we find something out tomorrow. Theres so much speculation at the moment, the Europe PS blog said something about a busy week ahead with a game launch.

For me personally i'd love to see gt6 for the ps3 and a gt7 prologue for ps4. That way i can enjoy gt6 on my ps3, and ignore gt7 prologue completely, and only buy a ps4 when gt7 full title arrives. Will be buying gt6 as a used purchase regardless after me being an idiot and buying gt5 blind with all the hype, lesson learned.

Most likely it will be released on PS3. Which I won't be hyped about. Its going to be a GT5.5 basically

If a GT6 on PS4 is announced this week, where does that leave DriveClub? This is quite the Saga...

Driveclub should be fine. If GT6 releases later on in 2014, driveclub will be the car exclusive for PS4 until GT6 arrives, giving both a good amount of independent sales time.

And this, my dear friend, is where the problem lies. It is pointing to a GT6 on PS3 release. If GT6 is released on the PS4, I will be getting DriveClub first... Unless GT6 has a monster track list with all the faves and a revamped car selection. My money is still on a GT6 PS3 release though...

I'm afraid you're wrong, a gaming web here in Slovakia says it's gonna be announced too and it's not just some web... They have been at PD, talking to Kaz in 2009 and 2011, making interviews with him... So I am pretty sure they got the right informations...

However, we'll see tomorrow ;)

And with this... the plot thickens.👍

Game Informer June Cover: Infamous Second Son.

Obviously, GT6 is far to big to be revealed in a magazine.

Wait, wouldn't the game have to be announced before Game Informer can have a blowout article about it?

..that is, if it is announced tomorrow.

It can be the cover article for July or August for all we know..

..I'm just talking..

What are people expecting from a reveal ? Release date is out of the question, just what platform it's on I guess then.
