Gran Turismo 7 “April” Update Content Predictions…

I am hoping for Silverstone, Monaco and Pikes Peak.
I think they should do something that's never been in a game before, either an original fantasy track or an unusual real world track that players won't have experienced before. Silverstone, Monaco and Pikes Peak have been in past GT games as well as a lot of other racing games that GT players are likely to have played.
Unfortunately, I no longer believe that they will add Pikes Peak because we have very simple and bad physics on rally tracks. Only if they made an asphalt version. I also don't expect snow anymore...
I mean, the road in real life is 100% asphalt and has been for like a decade. So unless they make a historical version it's going to be asphalt.

With the first actual DLC I feel they will add:

Gr.1 and Gr.2 events to the circuits with Gr.1 and Gr.2 having their own endurance section apart from the Comedy.
More nostalgic cars + new to series cars:
Nissan R390 GT1 '98 Gr.2
Toyota GT-ONE '99 Gr.1
Bentley Speed 8 LMP Gr.1
Nissan Nismo R33 Skyline GTR LM.
Corvette C8 and C8R/Gr.3.
Ferrari FXX from GT6 albeit touched up.
Porsche 991 Turbo along with the 918.
Ability to sell cars.

My only concern is how are they gonna implement new cars, will they all be available in the UCD/LCD the day they come out? Or will we have to wait for them to show up? Or would they be in the Brand Central regardless of age? There's many ways they could do this and PD are known for not going with the best decisions sometimes but I have a feeling they will do the bolded but have them be available slightly longer than usual cars.

Looking at patterns of first content updates for GT5P-GTS, I think that first update with content won't contain much. It will be probably have more bug fixes than content. I predict either
  • 3 cars (one concept (new to series), one classic (premium) and one modern (new to series), inspired by 1st GTS update where none are japanese, for example: Alfa Romeo Castello , BMW 507, Porsche 992 GT3 RS)
  • 3 cars (one concept, two modern, inspired by Spec III GT5P update (basically first content update for EU and NA) where none are japanese, for example: Alfa Romeo Castello, VW Golf mk8, Porsche 992 GT3 RS)
  • 3 concept cars (inspired by GT6 updates, including for example Toyota GR GT3 Concept, AR Castello and new Red Bull or GT branded car
  • 3 race cars in series like karts, new fictional Gr.1/2/3/4 cars, or real GT3/GT300, GT500, GT1, returning touring cars (Skylines, Tuscan, even non premium like FTO) and so on
  • one track either specialized like Kart track, or new real track like Road america

Can we please make the distinction between content and a wishlist for rebuilding the game? I’m pretty sure OP was only asking for the former.

What I want is one thing, what I expect:

Three cars that only appeal to a very specific type of car fan. To most of us, they’ll go ignored.

A handful of events utilising existing tracks, maybe one championship, tied to a few more menu books.

That’s yer lot.
Glad I was so wrong. Feels like we actually got a whole lot more 😏

I never bothered with Circuit Experience pre-update, just worked on getting gold on all licenses. Now dipping in and enjoying the challenge. Got a few tracks where I’m gold in the sectors but not quite gold for the lap!

Also had a quick go at WTC700 at Le Mans. No strategy, just winged it, got 2nd, 4 secs off the leader. Somehow ended up with 400 odd thousand from CRB when I was anything but clean 😂 I’ll have a proper go at that at some point. It’s a nice little earner, and a bit more involving than HSR or Fisherman’s Ranch.

The game is now worth playing!

My Guess for April Update

Track
- Mid-Field Raceway

Cars
  • Acura NSX, 1991
  • Bentley Speed 8, 2003
  • Chevrolet El Camino SS 396, 1967
  • Lexus LFA, 2010
  • Mazda Autozam AZ-1, 1992
  • Mine's BNR34 Skyline GT-R N1 Base, 2006
  • RE Amemiya Amemiya Asparadrink RX-7, 2006
  • Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R), 1995
  • TVR Tamora, 2002
  • Volkswagen Kubelwagen Typ82, 1944

Using Gran Turismo 6's Premium car list, I put together my guess for the April car list

Acura NSX 1991.jpg Bentley Speed 8 2003.jpg
Chevrolet El Camino SS 396 1967.jpg Lexus LFA 2010.jpg Mazda Autozam AZ-1 1992.jpg Mine's BNR34 SKYLINE GT-R N1 Base 2006.jpg RE Amemiya Amemiya AsparaDrink RX-7 2006.jpg Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R) 1995.jpg TVR Tamora 2002.jpg Volkswagen Kubelwagen Typ82 1944.jpg

So you would choose a Golf 7R rather than the Lexus LFA or a TS020 for exemple? Strange
Or he would rather have a McLaren Senna rather than the Fiat Panda or Daihatsu Move.

See, it's easy to be selective to suit your argument. There is no guarantee they'd choose the most desirable returning cars first.

I'm with him, the game needs something new first, especially tracks. Reminder, GT7 launched with zero new ones.

Strange is that you'd come to that conclusion aftre reading what I wrote! LOL

An LFA would be nice though. But then so would the Snaefell Mountain Course or Oulton Park or Trac Môn Anglesey Circuit. You know, something fresh.

I knew you would reply to me ;)
He is basically saying "if it's from older game it's bad". I'm just saying the only thing matter is the car choice. But I was probably too optimistic for you

No he wasn't. He simply wanted this update to be something totally new and not recycled. Nothing wrong with that, I want that as well. The game is crying out for brand new content. Returning content can come afterwards.

He never said he didn't ever want the recycled content and it was bad.

Id like to see an open world mode like Forza horizon. I'm actually considering buying a series X just for Forza alone.

My predictions would be as follows.

Tracks: Apricot hill and Watkins glen

Cars: GR Corolla
Corvette C8
Ferrari 488/GT3
Aston Martin Valkyrie
The new lambo countach
Tesla model 3
R33 GTR Nismo LM
McLaren 720/GT3

New car parts such as new engine swaps.
More endurance races.

Remember, they edited the blog post from new "tracks" to new "course layouts" so I don't expect any new locations in April, sadly. Just additional loops for current locations.

Beyond this there will be a few additional patches deployed between now and the end of April which will add new cars and course layouts

Questions:

Does PD suffer any contractual impediment to place the new GT3 cars and race tracks which appear in the GT World/Europe Challenge Championship?

I know that Assetto Corsa is the official game of the championship.

I ask this because some real models of Gr. 3 are taken from championships like 24 Hrs de Nurb, like the BMW M6 GT3, or directly from the factory, like the Porsche 911 RSR

Does SRO prevent PD from putting some GT3 cars in the game, like Porsche 911 GT3, Bentley GT3, Audi R8 Evo II, BMW M4 GT3, MG GT3 Evo, Ferrari 488 Evo II, Ferrari 488 Challenge?

If we get 24 hour races I'd expect Sophy to be added as a B-Spec option.

Layouts rather than new tracks makes me think Nurburgring.

The 11 missing menu's.

As for cars, anyone's guess.
