Gran Turismo 7 “April” Update Content Predictions…

Menus for Gr.2 and Gr.1 would be a must.

But I would hope that Gr.1 wouldn't be the absolute crappy mess with the VGT Gr.1 + Group C + LMP1 + GT1 Cars like we had in Sport which was an absolute disappointment... Let LMP1s race between themselves, VGTs race between themselves, Group C and so on.

For now, I just want more events, much better payouts across the board, UCD and LCD to have more slots and the credit cap limit to be removed.

^This is what PD promised will do in the first patch of April, so we shouldn't really be doing any predictions aside from what kind of miserable payouts are they going to increase or what kind of races in the world circuits.

They did promise a few additional patches from 25th March to end of April where they specified there would be new cars and new course layouts (layouts or complete new courses is up for debate) so for me at least, content predictions in a mid priority notion makes sense.

Ah yes, I was just talking about the 1st patch of updates in the beginning of April.

Do we know what date the new tracks and cars are coming at the beginning of April

4 weeks in a month, so you would assume "beginning" to imply the first week, as the second week is already nearing the middle of the month, rather than beginning. So yeah, this week we'll get something I'm sure, I doubt it'll be new cars or tracks though.

My Guess for Update 1

Track
- Mid-Field Raceway

Cars
  • Chevrolet El Camino SS 396, 1967
  • Chrysler Viper GTS-R Team Oreca, 2000
  • Daihatsu Midget II D-Type, 1998
  • Lexus LFA Nurburgring Package, 2012
  • Mazda Autozam AZ-1, 1992
  • Suzuki Cappuccino (EA21R), 1995
  • Suzuki Escudo V6 Pikes Peak Special, 1998
  • Toyota Celica GT-Four Rally Car (ST205), 1995
  • TVR Tamora, 2002
  • Volkswagen Kubelwagen Typ82, 1944

A balance of slow cars, race cars and fun cars.

I predict the new update will wipe all credits and reset all progress to simulate the real world experience of having all of your hard work amount to nothing.

I just want more races. Too many cars I'll never drive. I have 286 cars and I drive 5 of them.

At the bare minimum that the World Circuits events roster gets filled out a little bit. However in the note they did say that they would be adding Endurance races as Missions and not World Circuit events:

"Updates which will come into effect beginning of April:"

  • Increase rewards in the events in the latter half of the World Circuits by approximately 100% on average.
  • Addition of high rewards for clearing the Circuit Experience in all Gold/All Bronze results.
  • Increase of rewards in Online Races.
  • Include a total of eight new one-hour Endurance Race events to Missions. These will also have higher reward settings.
While it also directly states they'll have a higher reward setting, Missions pay a horrendously low amount for some of the effort required so I can't imagine they'll be buffed by that much. My estimate is $30k at best.

Also from the note:

"To improve the player experience, we will be rolling out a considerable patch in the beginning of April. The number of events will be increased, and we will reestablish the reward system with greater balance throughout the game to benefit all players.
It's not stated where these events will occur, so I'm on a single thread of hope that we even get more World Circuit events at this point.

If they would update the Custom Race payouts to mirror the rewards received in the world circuits menu, and added the ability to set a PP limit for races, it would add an enormous amount of longevity imo.

Right now -and after the severe cuts- the highest paying races (credits per hour of play) are still the offroad races, and even those unfortunately still paint gt7 as a extremely grindy game, with all the conclusions already made about its design etc being valid and correct.

I hate to predict that the max credit per hour of play will not get significantly better than what you get for grinding the offroad right now.
It will not even get to where it was at launch, and that was already very grindy.

Hope I'm wrong of course, but that's my prediction.

A kind of “History of Gran Turismo” update - bring on the Escudo!

I hope they do something with the career, at least some more events in the vain of the clubman plus, and please make it so that the events are coherently listed and not just disjointedly spread over the UI, I want to enter the (clubman plus) and go to the next race without having to find it on the circuit screen.

If they don't add any events in this update I think I'll just shelve the game.

1. Fix the handling. The snap and lift off oversteer is ridiculous. In some cars I can't even complete a single lap without crashing. This issue has led to boring daily and sport mode races as the only cars with a chance to win are ones that are stable.

2. Fix BOP and default set up. How is the BOP still a problem. Currently if your not driving a Peugot or Atenza your not competitive. Did anyone bother to test the BOP before release. If they did, fire them.

3. Rewards. Increase rewards in all areas. Enough said.

4. How about endurance daily race. Maybe daily that allows tuning/setup changes. Dynamic weather in a daily.

5. AI improvement. Sophia can't come fast enough

6. Fix multi player. Again fire the test team who play tested this feature.

Why in the actual **** would they keep pushing out that nonsense car.
Because it is fun to race silly cars.😝
Not all of use like racing hypercars/F1 cars, Gran Turismo was always the one racing game which could be relied on to have slow, obscure cars.....

This is why we need lots and lots and lots of cars, so that those who want fast cars are happy and those who want quirky cars (like the Kubelwagon or the Type 2 Bus) are happy.

Agreed!

Still cant get over GT Planet giving Multiplayer such a high score. I know not to trust their opinion in future

Well, as you can imagine, the GTP team are going to be highly biased towards... GT.

I'd say that with the sambabus and beetle as well as the likes of Fiat 500 '68, you've got some real crappy slow cars.

Yes, but it doesn't stop them being fun for some people.
Last night I was tearing around Deep Forest at 200mph in a 917 but I also enjoyed racing Model T's around Nurburgring in GT3 on ps2.....

I don't quite know what it has to do with this thread, but GT7 offered (before launch) exactly the same as GT Sport - regular, scheduled competitive races, an esports series, completely customisable lobbies - and added "meeting places". It was GT Sport's multiplayer again, but with new features, hence the score.

And then, after the reviews came out, the lobbies weren't hot-swappable like GT Sport and, for some reason and despite being perfectly fine in Sport on the same servers, public races were groaning with lag all over the place.

Just like the addition of incredibly expensive microtransactions right at the moment of launch, March 4's v1.05 (and on) was not the same game we played for the review at v1.02-v1.04.

If there's someone you need to know not to trust, it's not us or anyone else who objectively reviewed v1.02-v1.04. But that's up to you.

Well, as you can imagine, the GTP team are going to be highly biased towards... GT.
Firstly, no we're not. Our reviews are as objective as possible. Secondly... why would you imagine that? What's the connection?

If I added up all the posts that said we're biased towards GT (and those saying we shouldn't have negative opinions about GT because we're supposed to be biased towards GT) and subtracted all the posts that say GTP is biased against GT, I'd end up with zero. Or close to it.

Just if you People shouldn’t have already heard of, but one Update Feature has already been leaked.
PD has reworked the Economy on Endurance Races.
Now, we will have to pay with Credits when doing a Pit Stop and pay for refueling.

Here‘s a Video of Proof.
The Guy is a YouTube Streamer and was chosen to test some Update Features :gtpflag:

Edit: Sorry Guys, I was fooled.
It was just a April Fools Joke 😂

I’d like to believe that they’ll make the menu system logical and easier to navigate, with GT Auto as one of the starting points.

My guesses :

Suzuka East Layout
2 others layout that were in GTS but didnt make it to GT7 yet.

A new mission tab with some endurances races.
Some new menus covering gt2 cars.
2 new songs.
Maybe a new car, hopefully a new gt3 car.

McLaren is mentioned twice on the license credits, one of them with mention of Ayrton Senna Empreedimentos Ltda (same credit as one I saw on the rear of McLaren Senna's Hot Wheels rear card:
View attachment 1132695Manufactured under license of McLaren Automotive Limited. The "McLaren" name and logo are registered trademarks of McLaren. "Senna" is a registered trademark of Ayrton Senna Empreedimentos Ltda.

Not sure if it means anything about McLaren Senna being in the pipeline though...
In the credits there's also the Lamborghini Diablo GT1 & Lamborghini Diablo GT2 '98 (a car from Gran Turismo 6 which has not yet to return in the credits as well. Maybe they'll be added in future updates too.
