It seems obvious to be that more mission challenges are planned, just based on the menu layout. A set of dirt challenges could be a nice addition in this update

The only actual reason to believe Pikes Peak may come to the game are the scapes we once saw in promotion media for the update one year ago. Usually PD, when releasing a new track, also release scapes with that track. And a couple of websites posted a picture of Suzuki VGT on Pikes Peak, so the scapes of Pikes Peak exist but not released yet, also it looks like that shot was either accidently sent or PD pulled it from promotional materials later. So there's a slight possibility (and it's a very big "maybe") PD were initally planning to release Pikes Peak in that update and Scapes with it, but plans changed shortly before the update.

However, it's not like the update was released without a track, Watkins Glen was added, and I doubt it's a change you can very quickly make to an update. And if Pikes Peak was actually almost ready for the June 2022 update, why take a whole year to add it? Just to time it with the real event? It is also possible Pikes Peak was never ready and they only had a couple of scapes, which they decided to not show until a bunch more scapes are ready for release.

Nothing update this. No fix for the races to not be catch the rabbit borefests, no new races for multiple classes of car, no fix to create true championships, no fix for the rotten AI... Yeah, won't be reinstalling for this, no way
You do know the update isn't out yet? No one knows what's in it other than the 3 cars.
Your points may end up being correct, but it's a bit early for all the doom posts. There'll be enough on Thursday.

That AM Valky will be insane probably
I plan on purchasing atleast 2, i'm hoping it'll be no more than $4,000,000 and also is able to be atleast have the aero from the AMR Pro version added as with the last few DLCs PD have been really good about adding period correct and/or manufacture (I can't think of the correct term) aero options to the new cars.

Seeing as it has really good performance IRL i'm hoping it can compete with the lower end Gr.2 cars with abit of tuning, which are the '08 GT500 cars.

I also really really hope PD capture the extremeness of the sound with this car in particular because it will greatly hurt the immersion if the sound is very "tame" hence why I do not drive the Zonda R or FXXK very often.

Its hurts my soul whenever I drive my beloved p1 gtr and its missing this sound, so I hear you when you say the sound can kill the immersion.:(:banghead:

There are some cars they captured perfectly such as the JGTC R34 99, Sauber C9 and McLaren F1 GTRs, some pretty close but too tame like the DBR9 and some that are flat out wrong such as the Alfa 155, Zonda R, and FXXK. I use the last 3 as they are the most blatant examples I can think of.

The DLC cars all sound pretty true to life from what I recall though I don't own all of them in-game.

But for me personally the Valkyrie sounding very tame and wrong will make or break me driving the car; as the way the car sounds is very important for immersion and realism sake. As much as I like the CLK-LM, it annoys me that they added the sound for the Le Mans version when the one they modeled for the game is actually the FIA GT version and should actually sound very close to the sound the DTM Audi uses; ofc I still drive it because it's a CLK but the sound is slightly annoying at times.

Yup. The general takeaway from the press is that it's overwhelmingly noisy inside the Valkyrie's cabin (hence the built-in intercom system). It would be very disappointing if it ends up sounding as tame as the FXXK in the game.

I have expressed this opinion multiple times people need to shut the ******* about more endurance STYLE races. Gran Turismo did not become a well established franchise by having endurance Races. They were bonuses at the end of the game for those dedicated racers . This game needs proper sprint races and hundreds of them. Ideally each track should have one 2-3 hour enduro to complete and the 24-hour courses should obviously have 24-hour endurance races. What has made this game and Gran Turismo sport to an extent bad for me is the fact that there are many five to 10 lap events which all have accelerated the tire wear or fuel consumption to FAKE an endurance event. These events are incredibly boring as they become formulaic and monotonous as the only way to win id by having to pit once or twice ( making a good chunk of the % of the race refueling) and there is no actual racing involved , just well calculated fuel stops . Sprint races are fun as demonstrated by the excellent Chili Pepper races which many will argue are the best races we have had since Gran Turismo 3 but polyphony caved into that half-ass give me endurance crowd and put half-assed endurance events. You either do proper endurance or sprint races but this in between garbage is what's ruining this game . An example is rolling starts are a symptom of endurance races . Rolling starts don't really affect the game in a two to three hour endurance race but completely ruin the experience of any Sprint race or even any race with under 10 laps as you will play the first three to four laps in a track just catching up to first place and the second half of the race is literally just maintaining your lead which is incredibly boring and provides for boring racing. When I See ten laps of Kyoto I see 15-20 mins where 10 of those mins will be me driving alone in first. Id rather have two laps where that first place is hard fought .. Or a proper 200 lap enduro with brutal AI and dynamic weather . This game has both but most events are in between ****.
It sounds like you’re describing the many 10 lap WTC races that are spread throughout the game. I haven’t seen anyone asking for more of those. What most people want are more races like the 1 Hour Spa event and Human Comedy with a high payout to match.

Well tbh I wouldn't mind them not giving us more 1h races in a while. They just need to click and make the Human Comedy races pay out 1 million every time you win them. They have still good enough payment considering how much variety those have.

I'd like a great variety of sprint races, to be fair. Along with a great variety of vehicle choices. I find it frustrating that there aren't more open class races as they're all aimed at the cafe gubbins. For example, I can't jump in my fairly stock RX8 and just go smash out races across the globe, they are mostly centred around the Japanese tracks. Likewise, almost all the Nordschleife races are aimed at German cars or race cars...

I know the answer is 'Custom Races' but as everyone has said so many times already, the payouts are TERRIBLE...

I think GT7 just isn't that good at capturing "extreme" or "wild" engine sounds (for example, the aforementioned FXX-K, or Zonda R). The only example I can think of that's captured perfectly is the Rampage V8.

In all honesty, it makes me a little worried for when the LFA drops. The absolute biggest appeal of that car is its sound, so if they get that wrong it's gonna get ditched within the week just like people said it would.

There's nothing exciting in new cars or circuits. Because on average, you get 3 - 5 lap races.

What we need is proper endurance events, and proper 10 - 20 lap events on each circuit featuring many car categories. My LMP1 cars and GR2 cars are nothing but garage queens.

One and a half years after launch, GT 7 is still the same, under developed, horrible A1, horrible payout, and a con game. I have never recommended GT 7 to anyone, unless they really fix it.
You can do these events now using custom races. As many laps as you want, or timed endurance races. I totally agree that the payouts are horrible, but you can do all the race events that you want.

The AI is horrible too though. I'm not quick by any means, but I still destroyed AI in equal cars until the end where they started boosting to try catching up (there was a very specific noticeable point where their speed boost started and they got ~5-10 seconds faster per lap).

Balancing the custom race AI is its own massive challenge. You need to make your car significantly worse to make it competitive against max difficulty AI. Otherwise you're going directly to the front and lapping by yourself. Rubberbanding can't be turned off (boost weak is not a solution, just an improvement) and you can't do anything about them only using ~95% of their gas pedal. It's incredibly bad, and I don't understand why PD would bother implementing a feature just to heavily encourage not using it. But they're also the ones who left splitscreen broken, so how could I ever truly know what they're thinking?

I agree and we can only hope that they are working on Sophy and we can soon choose to have Sophy levels of AI. In both custom and existing events.
I hope they spend time doing that rather than creating new events that we can do custom anyway, then either give us more money for racing Sophy AI or simply increase all payouts.

We know they're still working on Sophy on some level, there was an article a couple of weeks ago where someone at Sony was talking about their future cloud gaming plans and they mentioned they were currently using spare cloud capacity on training Sophy.

That scape in the news article, if you close your eyes, looks almost like Pikes Peak, and Famine definitely knows something, which means Pikes Peak confirmed, guys!

Really hope not. Given how long it is between track releases the idea of a one way up the mountain run with zero online value seems like a profound waste of resources
