Glitch that I'm pretty sure showed up last update, both offline and online. Numerous cars will be invisible in the race, sometimes including your own.
It got especially bad when during a night race at Bathurst, my car disappeared and the lights along with it, meaning I literally couldn't see anything.

Some races, about 1/3 of the cars are faded out like they are in ghost mode, for no reason, and their collision boxes are still on. They aren't going slow, serving a penalty, rejoining track, driving while inside another car or anything that would warrant ghost mode, they only look like they are.

This definitely could be a bug or a glitch, I set up a custom race at Le Mans for 20 minutes with BoP, 6X fuel, 2x Tyre. I started the race with grade 1 cars and I was driving the Mazda 787b, I set my fuel management to 6 at the beginning of the race and by the middle of lap 4, I noticed almost all of the cars had started running out of fuel. I guess the AI is not smart enough to go into the pits even after they're out of fuel because they did lap 5 and part of 6 at dead slow

I've noticed a very bizarre bug with the manual transmission, it changes the sound of the car's exhaust/engine...
Sound testing at 0:10 and 0:54 for comparison.
After more testing, it seems this only happens if you've purchased both the manual and racing fully customizable transmissions for your car, and then use the manual one. So, if you don't want your audio to bug out, but you want to use the manual transmission, don't buy the racing one.
I've also noticed that because of this bug, the interior sound shifts, or "leans" to one side through cambered corners, such as on ovals.
This bug was present for a long time, but I've only noticed it now. I remember driving the Pantera, wondering why it sounded so weirdly muffled and quiet, and after switching the transmission on it now, I realized why...
I've tested multiple cars, the old beetle, honda s800, even the new s14 silvia, same result.

Hi - I'm searching for a similar reason. Almost every race in Sport Mode Daily Races I get kicked out with an 'unexpected error' (is there any other kind??). I have good Wi-Fi speed and connection, and have re-booted the PS4 each time before playing. Does anyone have any answers?

Update: Used a long LAN cable for direct connection between router and PS4 - seems to be working!

I've seen the extra lights on one of the grind races. I think it was at Spa when driving the 26B RX-7. There was definitely something different about the car, engine swap, tuning glitch, something like that.
When I'd pull into the pit, there would always be another car's lights following me. There was no car, just the lights.
If I had to bet, I'd say it was the RX-7 that I was driving.

For some reason none of my Spa tracks work since the latest update. Tried to do the new Historic menu book and it sits on the black screen with event name just whirring away like it's loading. Tried the Sunday Cup 500 too and that's not working either. Anyone else found this on PS4?

You can drive fine with fully weared out red tyres before the update you couldn't drive even with one red tyre

I'm on ps4 pro and see that some ai cars is like ghostcars. Half transparent and flickering. Anyone else?

There is actually. If you expect an error to occur you can write an exception to handle it. The unexpected errors are the ones that the code doesn’t know what to do with.

Liveries being deleted or breaking so they become impossible to load scare me away from EVER making Liveries for the game. I was in the middle of making a NASCAR style Livery, worked on it for at least 3 hours, then out of nowhere, Decals started to no longer show up in the Menu. I tried to save the Livery only for the game to end up stuck at Rendering at 0%. I reset the system, and all my work was gone. I was forced to restart the Livery from scratch. The same thing happened and this time, I Saved more often as I made the Livery. That didn't help. The Livery does show up in the Menu, but it's not being Applied to my Car. It just stays stuck on a Loading screen with no text or numbers at all for over 15 stinking minutes. I can still access the rest of the GT Auto menu but the Car doesn't show up, only some Loading icon. I backed out to try again, still doesn't work. I can't resume with my work so I have effectively lost two whole Liveries and at least 6 hours of my life for absolutely nothing.
And no, it's not Internet Connection problems or faulty Internet Connection or anything Internet. I've played other games on the system & other systems and used Online features and they all worked perfectly. This only happens for Gran Turismo 7.

This is a faulty premise. Just because it's fine for other games and only happens in GT7 doesn't mean that you can rule out the internet connection entirely. Yes, it's to do with how GT7 uses it, but it's still related to connectivity.
While much of what follows in this helpful pinned thread deals with online multiplayer, it is nonetheless solid advice to optimise your connection across the board:
