I guess the only thing that effects Custom Races in this update is the weather tweak.

Haven't checked if the Laguna grid replay bug was fixed yet.

Still missing the 911 GT3 R, but with the AMG Evo, closest real GT3 grid I can make with up to date cars.

Mazda 3 doesn’t have a V8 swap(yet), so tough to reach 500bhp. The Focus RS also doesn’t have a V8 swap, but can use the Ford V6 to reach 500bhp, to make the Marc V8s. Marc II Mustang is essentially a Gr.3 Mustang. Also, note the 458 GT3 is still racing((Trophy class).

Assembled the cars for my Super Taikyu ST-X(GT-3) and ST-Z(GT-4) classes. Will test them at Fuji.

I was trying to replicate a GT series like the NLS or the GT World/Blancpain and man... it's a bit complicated going through all the years in the gallery.
The liveries are amazing, but it's hard to identify them if the creator forgot to add the year. Although it's not good for accuracy, it's good to make a shiny and pretty grid. Recently I've been collecting liveries that are using the 24h Le Mans number board. There are so many good fantasy liveries out there, like, really good stuff!

Anyway, months ago I did a custom Gr.3 grid using only iin-game brands and now I'm thinking about doing the same thing again, but for GT300. Ideia is to make a grid using the Subaru WRX and Lancer Evo (they look very gt300), the BRZ, RC F, Huracan, Merc GT, GT-R, R8, NSX and M6. This is my first livery for the series:

Plan is to race on all Japan circuits, BB Raceway included

Hello all! Here is the race report of my GT7 WEC's final round at Le Mans!
The race lasted 4 hours instead of 2, points doubled.

I really couldn't lose this race with that #91 Porsche in front of the pack, but I won quite easily (despite an early crash at Pont's curve, cf: pic). AI's pace was really slow compared to what I had seen before 1.32 during my BOP testings (even considering the throttle issue). Especially in LMP1 category. 3'36 at best? Really?

I could have stayed on my tyres all race long, but it became quite dangerous (especially at Indianapolis and Porsche) so I did change them at lap 46 or something. I was in endurance mode and I forgot that all the tyres were changed very quickly and at the same time in GT7. Not one by one like IRL which is time consuming and require a good strategy.... I thought "I would like to change just my left tyres but..." Well, nevermind.

The 1.32 obviously killed Aston Martin :grumpy: , unless it's because of that crazy Porsche #2 who stopped in the pits at least 10 times... But the Ford were good here and I was sure they would be.

Until 3h15 of racing, I really thought Audi would steal the championship, but Le Mans being Le Mans, things have happened!

The championship was quite okay overall, even if the broken AI destroyed my immersion so many times. We really need them to add some mechanical damages (at least punctures and brake failures, long repairs, boxes, + a real-time pitlane), free the AI from its stupid behavior and pace manipulation, plus introduce multiclass racing..

See you next time, when I have some ideas! :gtpflag:

Okay, here’s one for Custom Race SF23 AI cars. I thought there was a fix. A bit frustrating.

We know, if a car comes standard with treaded tyres and they are fitted with slicks, when setting up a race, that car remains on slicks. If that same car is fitted with any compound treaded tyres, it remains on the stock compound tyres. Nothing has changed.

We know, if a race car has stock slicks(RM, RS) and a RH compound is purchased(not fitted), it switches automatically to the RH compound before the race starts. Unless, that same AI car has pitted to change from wet to slicks, it will choose RS compound(purchased or not).

With the SF23, it comes standard with RS compound. I purchased RH, IW & W. Ran all dry races, the AI car started on the RS. I manually selected the RH for the Honda SF23 and it switched back to the RS before the start.

So, PD can program AI SF23s to return to softest compound tyres after we buy and fit a harder compounds, but they can’t program the harder compound to remain on the car. Choosing not to program something similar for all other cars.

Edit: Tried with the GR010 cars, which come standard with RM. Bought RH tyres, but did not fit them to the AI car. Ran a dry race, RH were not automatically fitted at the start. This is good…. So far.

The tires going back to RH has been 'fixed' atleast since this update, I used to apply RH tires to a few of my Group 1 cars to balance them out in custom races and now they just revert back to RM. I really wish we were able to apply RM and even RS tires to AI cars in custom races though as some cars perform noticeably better on RM tires.

We'll see. The "various other fixes" they don't mention in each update, could allow us to do that in the future.

Morning all, a quick question if I may ask the forum members regarding custom race settings.

As we know the AI in the game has never been the sharpest bunch of drivers but after tinkering with the cars in my garage most notably gr3 group I managed for some time to balance horsepower with weight to get a pretty even grid and therefore could race quite competitively against the AI.

However since the last two updates (I am aware that a lot of bop adjustments were made by PD) it appears that no matter how I try to balance horsepower across the vehicles they all seem to now drive unacceptably slow .

All of a sudden what used to be a relatively competitive environment to race in is now far too easy and once again even starting at the back of the grid by lap 3 I'm up at the front, is there anything else that can be tweaked to return a moderate degree of competitiveness to the AI?

All races are run at professional level, bop either on or off makes very little difference and boost to weak seems to do very little anymore.

All cars are matched as close a possible regarding weight and horsepower to within a single bhp but I'll be dammed if I can get any form of decent pace from the rest of the field.

Many thanks.

Le Mans 1988! :gtpflag:

But let's pretend that both Sauber C9 didn't forfeit and actually entered the race, and that R92CP are actually R88C. No Toyota 88C, sad.. No longtail Porsche, sad.. The Mazda in 1988 were not C1 but GTP (757 & 767), out. Italiya Sport / Cabin were running the old March 88 and not an actual Nissan, so they're not here.

So here we've got 11 Porsche, 5 Jaguar, 2 Nissan and 2 Sauber Mercedes.

Expensive.... :nervous:

if only they had any kind of inspiration at Polyphony Digital, or few ambitions here and there. And a Toyota 88-C, a Lancia LC2, a WM, March 88S ore some Cougar of course!!

Apologize if it's already andwered. I searched here and there but did not find it.

Can I setup a long race (4 or 8 hours) and save in race progress?
If this can be done, am I forced to resume the race the next time I run gt7, or I can choose when to resume?

Thanks

So I been working on compiling replays and images for my own little custom race series "Touring Car World Championship" Kind of corny I know. But to elaborate on the details, its a series of seven races that take place on circuits around the world. I wanted the car choice to be solely touring car sedan types so I could make a super touring type series, but PD doesn't give us many options to choose from so I was pretty lenient on what cars I would use. As long as it was a Tourer or Grand Tourer, I used it in the series. Maximum Power Output is 330 HP which was scaled somewhat by the weight of the car, (I.e. Cars under 950 kg had a HP max of about 310) so I didn't make a minimum weight requirement. There was a max PP rating of 650 PP though. Each race will have grid starts in reverse order to the race finish. (If you finished First you start in last) There are also 5 reserve entries I made, so the last 4 positions will be swapped out with the reserve drivers and have 1 driver on deck for the next race. These reserve drivers respectively start in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th every race start automatically.

The entry list is as follows:

Anyway, Sorry for the long intro, just wanted to give some premise to the series.

Here are the results for the first race at Blue Moon Bay.

Despite the measly payout, I am glad that the Custom Race is in GT7. I can finally enjoy my racing story battles without the need of asking volunteers.

I'll probably go back into writing. Hopefully I get enough motivation.
Amen !..........................but this game has to evolve onto Custom tournaments, ala ....name your tournament/pick your cars from garage/choose points allocation/race details & revel in some PD designed leader boards etc

I had some custom races saved with way too many diverse cars for a SuperGT race, but now I've raced some 1 make custom races (BTCC 1997 on WRX Gr.4 and a BMW Evo 89 Cup) with Boost to Weak... Man hadn't this much fun since day 1! Its so much fun, I love it. Definitely want to make some more, also with more comparable cars, like a DTM and a WTCC grid.

I'm working on a Custom Race Build sheet in Google Sheets so its easier to share grids/options etc etc. Would work great with @Nuschel01 scoring sheet which can be included for a total package.

Mid-race saves aren't in the game unfortunately. Hope they add it if they promised more endurance races.

Just to add, you can continue where you left off, if you shut down the game. When you boot back up, it’ll continue where it Paused. It won’t work between updates though, as the system needs to shut down and reboot.
