Thanks to @A_Higher_Place I’m utilising the GT Awards cars by building a mock 1970s Brazilian Divison 3 class.

GAC Maverick
CHC Nova
Rampage Camaro
Fugu Z LZ20

I just test these four and see how they run together.

20 x engine swapped Beetles all running at around 740pp - up to 188 mph on the straight - very twitchy at the rear especially at the start but all cars running very close over le mans 4 laps (bottom pic = lap 4 ) - good fun

Sounds fun but I have a feeling the Fugu will always lag on the straights compared to the others. I'm going to try a grid of the GAC maverick and the Roadster Shop camaro before adding in any others.

So far 650pp seems to be a suitable range for them both. Seems a decent range to add other muscle cars too once I have this fine tuned.

Enjoy your grid 😁👍🏻

I’m thinking of doing a similar series with the addition of the engine swapped mach 1, challenger, pantera etc

Revisited the Group 5 builds by adding the L20B Hakosuka. That thing is a jet. I was following the AI while I’m driving the GAC and it was pretty cool to have the AI keeping pace. Of course, even detuned with 800+BHP, the GAC is still heavy. Couldn’t catch the Z4 CSL or fully tuned( no swap) Pantera. Just need a swap for the Stratos.

Just a fun short.. But the season (where I run 20 laps) is halfway and its hard.
I had one P14 finish, I was still messing with tire simulation etc and on Nurburg GP I was banging my tires.. So I was wondering if AI would pit or would be better in managing their tires.. I went in and guess AI did manage better so I was the only one lol.
But on Catalunya it was the other way around. I had to move to fuel 5 to finish the race without a pit, but in the final lap all 19 AI cars went in for 1 lap of fuel... So I won that one.

Tested Grand Am grid by itself. AI did fantastic(Boost Weak, of course) with the set up. Live play and replay with me at the back(using Automatic gears until my hand heals).
Laguna Seca and Daytona, testing Daytona Prototype set up for AI. I’m happy with this set up. Grand Am cars were battling and pretty quick around Daytona. Left me at the back of pack.

DPI positions 1-9 & 19

So I bought 4 R32 Nismo's and some more Cossies. So far its quite easy to create a 90s Group A race (JTCC for example) with the M3 Evo's I already had.

But Im also testing with a DTM 94 grid, does anyone have a good setup to match the 155 with the M3 Evo? I can only pump up the M3 up to 450 bhp or so.

Since I'm a poor bastard who hates grinding to the bone I'd rather detune my 155 but when I get that to 235bhp and 1200kgs its still a bit too fast for me in a race with stock M3 (only RH tires and better brakes).
@05XR8 what is your setup?

You can also limit the gearing/speed of the 155. Try 230kmh.
For the M3 Evo, you can add front & rear aero to match the 155 a bit more. Suspension set up also come into play.

Basic set ups. Adjust as you wish. I slam mine to the ground for the look. This set up can be a handful, but that’s how the real cars react and look in videos.
Baseline set ups. Anti-lag, Off/On Weak or Strong to adjust PP as needed. Differentials are optional. Especially if having the AI use these cars, as AI use all driving aids.

Just finished my run of the Chevrolet Gran Prix at Sardenga. It was a really tight race with two major accidents, with me being one of the victims but not at fault.

Did a lot of nerfs and buffs to make sure the championship is closer, and I think it is now. The replay won't be out until the real race starts.

The one I have come up and I'm having fun with is a Viper Cup based race. Build 3 2010 ACR-X cars and put them on a track for 50 mins with no ABS or TC. Settings are real. So x1 fuel and tires; slipstream real and off track real. On a track like Daytona Road, you will have to watch your fuel. Using the Fuel map is cheating yourself of the real experience. Of all the races at different US tracks I may have won one. It's good close pack racing even with the AI. Found myself a few times thinking I was in a lobby with this race.

Car build is post #2 here:https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/the-snake-pit-dodge-viper-tunes-by-snakeeyes427.419707/

Example track settings:

I have damage off just due to getting a baseline for how the race plays out before opening a series. All the real world Viper Cup races are grid start. However, the banking at Daytona does not allow for this realistically.

Hope you have fun with this. Any questions you can give me a message anytime. 🙂

If you have the eligible engine swap for the M3, that might make equaling the two much easier.

I’m enjoying it. I use a red 911 to observe the AI RX-8s. Had to cancel fuel races, as the RX-8s go longer than all the other cars. So, I pump up tyre wear and it’s working better. Did a race at LS with nice results.
Took the grid across to la Sarthe, with random torrential rain and that was cool too. Love this game.

Would be nice if PD added the Monaro/GTO.

Here's the one I did a while back. Lets you change the points allocation and even assign teams.
Hey,

I've done a really small update by adding the carlist and tracklist, and added a livery section so people can add their liveries to it.

You can now see what the total costs of the custom race will be, and in Settings you can add the minimum of kilometers need to be driven. In Results when you select a track it automatically shows how many laps needs to be done so its always consequent with Tire Wear and Fuel Consumption.

I myself work in Airtable and don't know much about Google Sheets so its not as extensive as my own database but I think works really great for sharing custom races, especially with Liveries and Tunes.

I will now fill in my SuperGT, JTC and BTCC grids and will share all links this week.

What do you mean exactly?
Hi Ginger, im just having an ironic pop at PD, as id love to have a season mode, - im currently choosing 10 tracks, writing them down on paper, then running my 20 saved custom cars at each track, writing down all the finishing positions & points (20 for 1st / 1 for 20th ) after each round i then total up to get championship positions to give me a recurring Leader Board etc etc ...........i don't really want to be typing this into a PC for effect, but maybe one day we`ll get this within, what is a great game. ..........im a game half-full kinda guy

* the term "get your finger out" means "do something" .......not one of your Flemish proverbs maybe ?

Ah yeah I feel your pain. Im still struggling with creating a working database lol. So far I collected 1660 teams with over 550 drivers, over different competitions I like to race (DTM/JTC/SuperGT/BTCC) which is really easy to share some sheets with cars/teams/drivers/livery links.

Oh and Flemish is not related to the Netherlands, that's Belgium ;) But I understand what you meant.

My wishlist for custom races:

Custom Races
  • Raise payouts custom races to a fixed model based on class/PP, laps and difficulty. More laps with lower PP and high difficulty takes longer so needs higher payout.
  • Add qualification
  • Add seasons with multiple races
  • Add multiclass racing
  • Share custom race/tournaments setups in Showcase (including cars/tunes/liveries)
  • Fix bug with AI only 95% throttle output
  • Fix bug with standard tires
  • Apply pre-created racing plate numbers to all entries (separate svg!)
  • Ability to switch car in Custom Race menu
Tuning

  • Share tuning sheets in Showcase
  • Ability to copy tuning sheets (incl parts, can be with or without paying) to the same duplicate car in your garage.
  • Easier access to engines
  • Bring back Race Modification from older GT’s: get a legal road car and make it a Gr. 4 by weight reduction, larger fuel tank, racing livery etc. Great for Touring Car racing!
